Nina is just full of grace. FULL OF GRACE. She just has something so special in her if you watch her dance you would recognize it is her without seeing her face

What a wonderful performance - they have turned a simple piece of music into a brilliant piece of ballet - showing us what ballet is all about - to keep moving in time with the music - ballet is energy not walking - and here Nina and Denis are smiling - a must be in all ballet school

The thing that surprises me is that they have the Balanchine technique solid! They're spotting forward, not necessarily keeping the heels on the ground for jumps, and they're on time with the music.
How EXHILARATING. Just as a tarantella should be. I smiled all through it.

Terrific! Thank you for posting. It's an amazing piece of dancing and choreography. What fascinates me most is the way that events are shaped around the contrasts of phrases and sections in the music. It's as if he was choreographing the music's structure and instrumentation.

@@TheBunduBallerina Thanks. You and others here knowledgeable about ballet are teaching me so much. I speak as a professional musician who has always been interested in the music, but has only started learning about dance in his old age. That's probably because I have two left feet!

They get the ballet moves correctly, but they don't get the tarantella inspiration. This is bloodless.
@@SeanSmith-gd8qvthey are a spectator, it's not their job to do better. They're allowed to critique and have an opinion (positive or negative) on a performance just as every other person in the comments. You don't have to be an actor in order to have a negative opinion about someone's acting in a movie.
Agreed completely. I think the people in the comment section have not seen the original with McBride and Villella. Then they'll have quite a different opinion on this performance. Nonetheless, I applaud them for doing such a difficult piece and they were both happy and charming.
@@SeanSmith-gd8qv uh, where did I even imply that? You're 100% welcome to disagree. We all have our opinions and tastes. But when you said "and can you do better", that's basically saying you can't critique because you can't do better. Which is poor logic because if that were the case, no one could be upset if their favorite basketball player did poorly in a game, just because they aren't all star basketball players. Or that someone's favorite actor did poorly in a movie, just because they aren't actors. You don't need to be a ballerina to like or dislike a ballet.
Interessante commento, ma lo puoi pensare solo se vedi le cose con un pregiudizio. Hanno trovato il sangue in altri parametri, parametri russi, metrica e sfumature. È una meraviglia di coreografia che si rinnova ogni volta.
@@fluffywuffykinsies I have seen it. Villella looked very... tired? McBride was gorgeous, in my opinion she danced her best Tarantella with Baryshnikov.
