    I don't think the cables for my RM850x was this fugly but they did come off as over engineered with zero thought into actual usability.
    For me the wall plug was the worst culprit so I just reused my old one. I am jealous of your case sticker though.
    If I ever end up with a clear panel in a future case I'll be sure to look into more user friendly cable management options.
    I think going PSU first would be more annoying, for me I've found it easier to manage the cables plugging them into the system than the PSU.
    This helps me know what cables I need as I'll only plug those in, and due to knowing they all have the same destination I get a better visual of where they need to flow to make it to the PSU.

  • @bluej511

    Problem with the premium cables, they don't have line filters built into the cable so you'll get more noise. Some PSUs do it in the psu others in the cable. Ones in the PSU i don't mind using prem cables, for corsair id use extensions.

    • @roqsteady5290
      @roqsteady5290 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The corsair premium cables have "In-line capacitors on the ATX 24-pin, EPS12V, and PCIe cables". Is that what you meant by filters?

    • @bluej511
      @bluej511 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roqsteady5290 yea its why they have very low voltage spikes or wtv its called. Most psus are built well with very low line voltage spikes, corsair does it in cable.

      @@bluej511 The quote in my first post is from the description on UK amazon. I've been checking around, just in case they botched that description and found a review on Bit-tech that mentions the capacitors are color coordinated with the cabling. But you are right, I can't see them in the pictures either. I'll check them when delivered. You do have to be very careful with the details when doing a build.

    Hi, just bought the RM750x and it has the same port interface as the 850, so I was just wondering if it matters where I plug the PCIE cable and the CPU cable on the PSU side, the two sockets for both cables look identical and I don't know if it matters? Hi there,
    Could someone help me understand something about the RM***x power supply range?
    I bought an rm850x power supply and then 3 other RM750x and there is ultrasonic noise and hum on all 4. The capacitors are all hissing. Is this normal?! This ultrasound noise goes through my ear and it hurts me.
    I have a bronze CV750 from corsair and it doesn't make a capacitor noise, except for the fan which clicks under load 'tac tac tac tac' but it's light.
    Given the slight clicking noise I wanted to change to have a more high-end power supply thinking that it would no longer make any noise, nor tac tac tac, nor any capacitor noise (?).
    It's incomprehensible to buy a higher end power supply that makes a hissing, buzzing and ultrasonic noise.
    I had changed this CV750 to an RM850x but the RM850X made a hissing noise and the other 3 RMX750x also.
    Is this a manufacturing defect? it must absolutely not buzz, I do not understand.
    These RM850x & RM750X power supplies have been tested on a bare (MSI B560 A-PRO) and equipped motherboard. But also on an ASUS TUF B560-PLUS WIFI, equipped.

      If the calculate and GPU says 500/550, get 750 or 850. 600w will be pushing it. You're going to want a lot of headroom and make sure you're considering everything that consumes power in your case when using a calculator.

      It's always a bit "safer" and efficient to use one cable per connector.
      That being said, you would not causing any issue using the piggyback cables included, it's almost a thing from the past as even the new ATX 3.0 600w 16pin connector plug internally the same way two 6+2 pins would.
      That's 600/2= 300w per 8 pin connector equivalent, and those 8pins are rated for 150w. BUT each 8 pins connector consist of the three 12v pinouts ( 1-2-3 on connector ) and are wired with #18 gauge cables rated for 10amps per wire so thats 12x10x3= 360w ! That's 60w of room for the connector or 20w per 12v cable as grand maximum. Performance can improve by a negligible amount also generally
