It was so nice to see you both out and about. Love to see you and Ashley chatting together and having a laugh. Always look forward and enjoy your videos. x
That was so lovely, Caroline. I'm so glad you and Ashley enjoyed it so much. I just love your travel vlogs and the opportunity to see the villages and scenery. Thanks so much for sharing this. Take care. Blessings from California XXX
Aww you two always make me smile Caroline you are really great together and so genuine too I loved your bring along mini break you look really pretty too you seem to be a lot better in yourself the break at xmas did you the world of good!!! looking forward to more of the same as the year goes on xx
ooh i'm giddy after all the camera shakes... but this brings back memories of when we used to go to Cornwall every year. my hubby died 2 years ago and i can't face going back . i can see us both walking along these streets and views we saw. especially St Ives. that was his favourite place. glad you both had a lovely time there.
My husband really loves all of Rick Steins programmes too. We have been to Padstow 2 or 3 times, always have go to the fish and chip restaurant and always queue, summer months but such gorgeous fresh fish.... need to go again after watching yours and Ashley's visit. Such a beautiful jumper, great find xx
Morning Caroline, really loved the vlog, the last time we went to Cornwall was 24 years ago , when I was pregnant with my son , think we are due another visit, the jumper looked lovely, sending you all lots of love xxxx
Another Rick Stein fan here! Thank you for showing us Padstow, what a small quaint little harbour, love it. I have fine hair and have used Paul Mitchell smoothing serum for years for my fly aways, you dont need much and it works. Have a good week x
Another lovely travel video Caroline, hope you both had a great time. I had to laugh during your outfit of the second evening segment, I could hear what I thought was the sound of a boat horn (or whatever it's called) and then you asked Ashley to stop "blowing into a bottle" ! That was the best laugh I've had all day, thank you! 🙂🌻
Last time we were in Cornwall we stayed in Wadebridge and visited Padstow and Rock was summer and, yes you are correct - parking was a nightmare! Lovely time was had by all - thank you for bringing back happy memories- really love your away days and mini breaks xxx
What a lovely, interesting video Caroline. Your break was truly wonderful. Ashley is so kind and patient. I am jealous. To be honest, I might look into booking a few days in Padstow. I need a break. Love the jumper, trousers and shoes. Great video.
Great vlog as ever Caroline 🤗I think the birds are called Ruddy Turnstones 😀We are currently in Fuerteventura and there are loads of them here around the beach area too 🏖️😁
We stayed in a tiny cottage just outside Wadebridge many years ago and had a fantastic holiday. We hired bikes and cycled down the Camel Trail down to Padstow alongside the estuary, so beautiful. We also travelled to and from Rock to Padstow in a little ferry. It was a truly wonderful family holiday, creating very happy memories. You are correct about the tourism in the summer. It does get packed in the summer. We were blessed with great weather though. In those days we were restricted by school term dates. I would love to visit again but the traffic on the M5 from the Midlands makes it too far for a weekend really. Perhaps when we retire we might do it. So lovely around that area, lots of beautiful places to sea and great if you love food! Lovely to see you more relaxed now Caroline. Your hubby makes me smile. Do men ever grow up? 😂 Mine certainly loves to be a comedian and would not have it any other way. So good to see you happy x
Oh these are my very favourite vlogs for all the good things the place the food the shops and you and Ashley and hiding in the closet for whatever reason very funny what a lovely break
Padstow gets very pretty later in the year with all the flowers and trees out in bloom, September we get a bit of sunshine and isn't too busy as kids go back to school so a bit quieter 😊
Loved the vlog. Maybe one day I will get to Padstow. Been to Cornwall once, 2nd night of our honeymoon. I was 21yrs and felt very homesick so we only stayed 1night!! I am a huge Rick Stein fan. Thank you
Hi Caroline, loved your travel vlog, I really enjoy Rick’s tv programmes his passion for food outweighs him being a grumpy old man! I’m also fishing for travel vlog inspiration as I’m am at the grand old age of 54 having my first weekend away shortly, and have acquired myself a boyfriend for the first time since 2016, usually I don’t vlog as my life is super boring nobody wants to watch me go to work 5 days per week 😂. I didn’t realise it was Ashley blowing in a bottle I thought someone’s mobile was ringing. Thanks for sharing lovely 💕
Ah caroline that was fabulous thankyou i so enjoyed that , you are both so lovely together. Also about hair serum i always use one toni and guy do a nice one and also kerastase x
We went to Padstein in September one year when on holiday in the area and it was so busy. Managed to get parked eventually after queuing in the big car park. But it was so busy everywhere. My husband would like all the fish on offer but I’m vegetarian. Loved Ashley jumping out of the cupboard and glad you had a lovely time. X
You and Ashley are bringing your own sunshine to Padstow! Oh my goodness but a rhubarb and ginger gin sounds like exactly the thing I need in my hand right this minute, and your room is so pretty. I find that rain makes a mess of any hair products I attempt so I forgo and let nature do her worse, but you look lovely. The sparkly top is perfect for dining out. Thank you for a lovely virtual tour! ❤xx Patty
Lovely vlog Caroline - thanks so much for sharing Padstow and Wadebridge with us. It’s a beautiful spot and I visited there many years ago while staying close by in St Eval, it’s been on my wish list as a place to return to at some point. Loved Ashley jumping out of the wardrobe 😜
Always delighted to see you popping up and what a lovely little travelogue from Cornwall - Rick Steinland! Padstow and Wadebridge are nice small towns and I just love the narrow streets and quaint cottages. Ashley is very patient while you browse the interesting shops - does he stand in front of estate agents windows checking them out, I wonder? Thank you both for showing all these lovely areas of the UK.
Lovely to see you both enjoying Padstow and its culinary delights dear. I wouldn't be without Kerastase creme magistrate for taming those pesky fly away bits. Quite pricey but a little goes a long way. xx
Omg a loved this content Cornwall looked lovely and peaceful pity about the rain ☔. Some lovely quirky wee shops. Your room and food looked amazing 🥰 🥰. Your jumper that you bought is right up my street colour and all stunning . Glad you enjoy your wee break away near time you treated yourself lol 😂 😂 also finally loved your hair makeup and lovely top at the end when you came on to say goodbye looked stunning xo 😘 😘 😘
Love seeing you guys enjoying life together! My Mum lives in Cornwall so we’ve visited Padstow many times, you’re right, it’s heaving in the summer and we rarely go there in season. But I love to visit Wadebridge, a few charity shops and nice places to eat, it’s a pleasant day out . You look lovely btw x
Hi Caroline, you certainly had a lovely time, your room was lovely and the meals you had looked yum. We went to Padstow just for a day whilst we were on holiday in the area last September and it was heaving and no where to park. So we didn’t stop. We’ve been previously and it wasn’t so busy. Thank you for sharing your break with us. Loved the jumper. Oooh I have the same problem with my hair when it’s raining and misty. I like you would love a product to help with this x
I heard that those tumble dryer sheets are very good for flyaway hair. You wrap one around your hairbrush and gently smooth the hair. Sounds weird, but worth a try?
Re. Hair, I do the 'curly girl method', see FB. I only wash with shampoo 1 in 4 but always condition the ends and scrub scalp with hands under the shower, I spray argan oil x 3. On hands and rub in before blow drying, I have coloured dry hair, hope that might help.x
Sometimes it is better to go on a break in the offseason quieter and you have it to yourselves more or less also love the colour of your eyeshadow at the end of the vlog looks so nice on you.
Sorry the weather was so bad, its been awful for weeks! Summer is horrendous you cant get bus tickets between people We avoid it till all the emmetts are gone!😂
Lovely vlog Caroline. Padstow was the very first holiday I ever went on as a toddler, many moons ago (obviously). I was born in the UK (Warwickshire) lived there until I was 10.
Oh.Caroline, I loved this vlog, thanks for showing us around Padstow, didn't realize it was so pretty, & full of exciting things to do! Also Doc Martin was filmed in Port Issac,on the north coast, near Padstow. Tintagel is beautiful, we loved it their, have you been to Tintagel, Caroline?
A lovely vlog on your little break loved the look around Padstow and Weighbridge and the food looked delish and wasn't Ashley kind driving back down the hill for us to see the view.
I’ve got a ceiling like that and I call it vaulted , I’m not completely sure I’m right but I still call it vaulted lol . I really enjoyed the video . My husband has just informed me they are exposed beams , I still like vaulted better .
Fantastic break. Inspiring me to follow in your esteemed footsteps. Two questions - does the hotel have guest car parking? I wonder if they cater for veggies? Thank you...
Hiya, no car parking but there is a pay and display car park directly opposite. There are a couple of veggie options on the menu, but it's very fish/seafood-centric. Menus are available online if you want a sneak preview :)
My dear Stan and I went to Padstow quite some time ago and stayed at the Custom House. Seem to remember we had to take our own cases up to the room! We tried Rick’s Bistro. The food was absolutely delicious.

you probably shown in a previous vlog but what was that lovely eyeshadow that you were wearing in the last segment. That was a lovely relaxed vlog thankyou
I always dread getting asked this question because I can never remember (old age lol), however, as I only filmed that segment this morning and still have the eyeshadow on, I can actually tell you that it's Colourpop's Mint to Be eyeshadow palette!
I thoroughly enjoyed this vlog, I mean I love them all, but I felt I had gone away myself ! May I ask what foundation/powder you are wearing, so beautiful on first night and at the end. Also that green eyeshadow!!! I want it !!!! Thank you 🙏 xxxx

Shame you went in the car to Wadebridge, you should of walked or cycled along the Camel Way. It is a beautiful trail along the river from Padstow to Wadebridge then as far as Bodmin, if you are feeling fit! Maybe next time. 💐💐
