I'm 60 and have no kids to pass it on to, and I know none of my nephews will want it.

So much to take in, and all great information! I made the sheet pan fajitas last week and they turned out great - love that method of cooking, so simple. I’ll be using my slow cooker in the upcoming weeks to make some meals to freeze. You’re so right - if it’s already made we’re less tempted to stray into unhealthier options. Chilli, soups - my kinda meal. We’ve started eating off nice dishes every night in the dining room and we find that we make better meal choices. We’re far more aware of what we’re eating if we set it out nicely and take the time to enjoy, rather than shovel it down 😂 It’s funny - my husband bought a container of assorted cubed melon last weekend I don’t even like melon but I enjoyed a little pretty bowl of it, much to my surprise! I’ll probably watch this video a few more times - so much good info, thanks!

What I do when I make a smoothie is use frozen bananas. I chop them in about 1-2 inch thick slices and freeze them. What happens when you blend or vitamise frozen bananas is that you get a consistency like ice cream. It’s fantastic.

Congrats on losing a few more pounds Cathy! You're doing it everything right. My grandma used to sprinkle salt on grapefruit, not sugar. She said it made it sweet.....When I started my weight loss program a year ago, I didn't have a scale so I measured, it's so helpful because we do hit plateaus where we don't seem to be losing weight, but we lose inches...a tape measure and a notebook are great tools!!! Keep on going, you're doing great!

I have the lollypop thermometer and digital scale and can't live without them. I was coming over here to tell you that Corelle has the plates that are divided in 1/2 and 1/4. They have medium and larger size. You inspired me to want to set up my plates with half veg and 1/4 protein and 1/4 complex carbs. I've been trying to move over to glass from plastic and love all the options out there. If you use the microwave, I discovered Anyday and it does an amazing job of cooking things like halibut and pacific cod quickly for lunch. You're doing great! Whoot!!
p.s. resistance bands are no joke. They end up going deeper into your muscle. And i read that Leslie stepped away as she wanted to let her daughter run the company and she could spend time with her grandkids. It's too bad since I adore her. I still subscribe to the Walk at Home streaming and love watching the old videos. I don't really groove with the new people, but who knows.
Great reminder to keep track of measurements! I'm going to take your suggestion and put them in my planner monthly. Also, great suggestion to prep the meals ahead, portion them out and freeze and/or refrigerate. What a time saver, especially on busy days! I'm one who can eat the same thing many days in a row, so I'll be doing this! I have always prepped vegetables the day I buy them, so why not add the protein and make meals ahead!? Enjoyed seeing all the products... and I always appreciate your encouraging attitude!!

I love salt on melon - but I do use salt & pepper on almost everything savory (even on pizza!). It certainly does enhance flavor, which is why most sweet recipes call for some salt. Some excellent products here - love the blue & white bowls.
Just a suggestion , instead of the granola use nuts for the crunch. :) I love granola and haven't been able to find a brand that isn't loaded with sugar.
@@stylewithcathyover50hi cathy. i hope it is okay i chime in. I use walnuts in my yogurt and salads. they are filling, no sugar and have a lot of protein. They are high in fat though so I will just put a small amount in my foods. But it keeps you fuller longer

I do plan on making a video talking about the balanced plate approach and show exactly what the dietician teaches me, but with my husbands health and all of the hospital visits I haven't had time do the research. Funny, I do the same with plain greek yogurt. I drizzle a little bit of organic honey and then I add some chopped walnuts which are good for my brain 😂. It is like having a sundae. I have heard good things about the Montreal seasoning and you have confirmed for me that it is good. I agree that having special food " vehicles " work well. When the food is gone, that's it. Spiral cut zucchini and use instead of noodles. I toss them into a pan with a spritz of olive oil or you could use your avocado oil. You can just add some spices to eat as a side but don’t cook the veggie long. You can open the lid and use a straw, I use metal reusable ones when I go somewhere. My cup is by Artic but looks and does just as well as Yeti. I have to take water with me everywhere. I’m excited for you and glad you are losing weight. I love those sneakers.😊❤

I eat 1 cup of rice. Sometimes I feel hungry and will have some protein like Greek yogurt or cheese and it helps. I do plan on creating some what I eat videos, I just need the time. 😊

Hi Cathy, I do Leslie Sansone Walk at Home videos, and I think I read that Leslie retired. They're great when it's raining hard, which happens a lot in Brittany in the winter - but I don't have to shovel rain! Many years of shoveling the driveway in Toronto...! Love this video!

I have the lollypop thermometer and digital scale and can't live without them. I was coming over here to tell you that Corelle has the plates that are divided in 1/2 and 1/4. They have medium and larger size. You inspired me to want to set up my plates with half veg and 1/4 protein and 1/4 complex carbs. I've been trying to move over to glass from plastic and love all the options out there. If you use the microwave, I discovered Anyday and it does an amazing job of cooking things like halibut and pacific cod quickly for lunch. You're doing great! Whoot!!
p.s. resistance bands are no joke. They end up going deeper into your muscle. And i read that Leslie stepped away as she wanted to let her daughter run the company and she could spend time with her grandkids. It's too bad since I adore her. I still subscribe to the Walk at Home streaming and love watching the old videos. I don't really groove with the new people, but who knows.

Great reminder to keep track of measurements! I'm going to take your suggestion and put them in my planner monthly. Also, great suggestion to prep the meals ahead, portion them out and freeze and/or refrigerate. What a time saver, especially on busy days! I'm one who can eat the same thing many days in a row, so I'll be doing this! I have always prepped vegetables the day I buy them, so why not add the protein and make meals ahead!? Enjoyed seeing all the products... and I always appreciate your encouraging attitude!!

I love salt on melon - but I do use salt & pepper on almost everything savory (even on pizza!). It certainly does enhance flavor, which is why most sweet recipes call for some salt. Some excellent products here - love the blue & white bowls.

Just a suggestion , instead of the granola use nuts for the crunch. :) I love granola and haven't been able to find a brand that isn't loaded with sugar.
I was thinking about switching to nuts, I'm just not sure which ones...can you recommend any?
@@stylewithcathyover50hi cathy. i hope it is okay i chime in. I use walnuts in my yogurt and salads. they are filling, no sugar and have a lot of protein. They are high in fat though so I will just put a small amount in my foods. But it keeps you fuller longer

You said your going to a nutritionist, maybe that’s what I need to find, is there a certain kind I should look for to get on that balanced portion plate diet. I do plan on making a video talking about the balanced plate approach and show exactly what the dietician teaches me, but with my husbands health and all of the hospital visits I haven't had time do the research. I will be doing one though, so hopefully in October. I talked about the balanced plate approach in my monthly weight loss videos a bit.

Funny, I do the same with plain greek yogurt. I drizzle a little bit of organic honey and then I add some chopped walnuts which are good for my brain 😂. It is like having a sundae.
I have heard good things about the Montreal seasoning and you have confirmed for me that it is good.
I agree that having special food " vehicles " work well. When the food is gone, that's it.

Spiral cut zucchini and use instead of noodles. I toss them into a pan with a spritz of olive oil or you could use your avocado oil. You can just add some spices to eat as a side but don’t cook the veggie long. You can open the lid and use a straw, I use metal reusable ones when I go somewhere. My cup is by Artic but looks and does just as well as Yeti. I have to take water with me everywhere. I’m excited for you and glad you are losing weight. I love those sneakers.😊❤

I eat 1 cup of rice. Sometimes I feel hungry and will have some protein like Greek yogurt or cheese and it helps. I do plan on creating some what I eat videos, I just need the time. 😊
