    From what I've seen in this video and the small amount of gameplay I've done already I believe this is one the most transformative and well-made mods for KSP. This will be a must-have mod for me from now on!

    Really wish you had made a video like this for the other more complicated elements of the mod, like understanding the effects of radiation, and how the life support systems differ from TAC. This is exactly the type of video I needed, so really well done and very to the point - just wish there were more! :P

    Honnestly the science part is great, and should be in the stock game at least as an option ( only thing is that the experiment durations are weird lenghts, like 4mn56 or 8mn50 instead of like 5 or 10) and the life support/radiation/ failure part is pain but it's kind of the goal, so much more rewarding than in the stock game

    Love the automatic science and additional power requirements. My main gripe is that it takes 3 clicks to get to the science window which is mandatory to have visible. I wish it also displayed a more accurate battery value so that it's not also required to have the resource window open. Being able to see the power draw next to each module on the same window would be nice too. Actually it would be nice to be able to see data/sample storage and transmission rate on the same window too.
    Anyway I'm currently playing science mode on 50% rewards and really struggling to reach solar panels which is a nice challenge compared to stock.

    At 00:02:25 we can see that when you pass the mouse over "Crew Report", the floating window that appears is "cutted" by the bottom limit of the "File Manager" window... Is this fixable???? Sometimes I can't read the reports of experiments or informations about data transmission...

    I have it installed, but haven't figured out how to get the data to transmit yet. But, like you were discussing, if a flight lasts shorter than the time needed to process the data - would you need to do a bunch of subsequent flights to complete the data? This is somewhat unrealistic. Imagine you build a real rocket with a accelerometer in it, and a way to transmit live data. You downlink as much as you can before the rocket crashes, but that data is still possible to use to calculate things like ISP for the motor long after the flight has ended. I don't see why the data needs to mature on the vessel in KSP before it can be sent, and you can spend the science points...

    Great explanation! One question, is the Kerbalism Science balanced for a specific science gain? The stock science at 100% gain is too easy, it gets a bit grindy at 40%. Also, how is this balance with the new DLC science?

    • @kerbalism9618
      @kerbalism9618  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's impossible to find a perfect balance. Everybody uses a different set of mods. Depending on the tech tree and science mods (including the breaking grounds DLC) you are using, you will have to find a good science setting that fits your game.
      The easy/moderate/hard presets are geared towards an otherwise unmodded game.

    Do you get reduced values of science if you transmit data instead of recovering it?

    Is there a way to reset a sample experiment once it gets to the point of being depleted?

    • @kerbalism9618
      @kerbalism9618  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only way is to dock to a mobile processing lab and analyze the sample while remaining docked, this should restore the sampling mass in your experiment.

    Okay, so the mod works as long as I'm on the ground only=P
    I'm using a mod that starts off with probes only, and all I have is the Stayputnik and some engines. It says I'm connected to DSN, but no data is transmitted even when an experiment runs to completion. The craft has no antennas, except for the internal one. In the file list, the data just sits there, flagged and all. What's wrong here?

    • @carp6679

    how do you transfer samples to the pod and other parts? i clicked on "transfer data here" on "Experiment Return Unit" and nothing happens... I can say that my Mystery goo contain 51g sample and when i click to start it says "no storage"... i have a lot on ec and i have a good antenna...

    • @VitaliKiSS
      @VitaliKiSS 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ok i figured that out... you need to have crew in order to move samples around the craft (a thing that you can change in settings)
