@KasyanTV Would be lovely to see a similar controller but with a display to show the time and the power. This would be needed in cases where I switch between spot welding different materials - taking notes of time and power used for good weld would let me re-use them in the future. Do you have any plans for such an upgrade? Or perhaps a link for the arduino controller that you mentioned at the beginning?
What about Sonic welding of the metals you would be spot welding or the repair of clothing that might have nylon and polyester in the fabric mix.

You can reduce your costs further by winding onto the transformer core 30 turns of insulated copper wire capable of carrying 0.7 Amps (about 10 meters). This extra windings will give you about 33Vac which can then be used to power the control circuit. Wind this secondary as close to the existing primary and secure with varnish to stop vibrations.

Hi I ordered the circuit boards. I built the circuit when I press the button it turns on but never off. Are there any jumpers I have to solder on to this board?
It's got to turn off unless you got a dodgy 555.
You should demonstrate, at the end, how your unit works. it's not clear to me how transformer TR2 works in this circuit and it's characteristics. If it's a spot welder I think it should bigger a also it's construction should be different.
This is controller. You need another transformer for welder.

@@mariodistefano2973 Remove from microwave oven. They are common and cheap. The high coil is changed for 4 to 01 turns, depending on the purpose.
@@egagarces9113 so, which winding do you use for soldering? On the schematic you shown, it seems that you use the transformer as an inductance, rather than a high current transformer as can be seen in several videos on YT. this is what is pissing me off... Please clarify. Thanks
I wouldn't trust an opto-isolator with a damage casing. Better to redesign the board than to try and break legs off a safety component.
They needed to get it to work after a mistake, the actual pcb only requires broken leads to get em off the pcb. To220 chips often have a snipped middle pin for ease of manufacture.

After further testing the circuit will turn off the AC after 1 minute. The 100k potentiometer has no affect on the timing :(
The 500k potentiometer will adjust power. Has anyone else built this circuit?
