Leaving the top quality $60 tents in the middle of the road with zero effort to clean up, trashing a rental car in a flash flood. Excellent work, people. Looks like they came prepared with a good gear and lots of common sense.
I don't care what anyone else says Trailmater is why I started watching this channel... And the fact that Rory and the crew are just everyday people.... But keep Trailmater doing the recoveries!!!
If ANYONE was to drive the decoy gasoline fuel tanker from the 'Mad Max Film desert refinery' as a decoy to allow the gentle people to escape (with all due respect to young Mel Gibson) I WOULD CHOOSE RORY. Real 'Road Warrier' experience. AND, with Mike and Shawn riding as gunners it would be quite entertaining to see the gasoline powered weapons they could deploy. Since Mad Max was a Post-Apocalyptic movie I imagine the knowledge of Napalm was available to them. Would have made short work of the 'Smokers' attack vehicles. LOL As a Vietnam War era mental survivor, I remember to this day 'Napalm in the Morning'. (Apocalypse Now, The Movie)
I was thinking along the same lines "how have I been watching this channel so long and not realized TrailMater could roll straight onto the set of Mad Max 2 and look right at home?" I'm a little slow it seems lol
Been watching for a few years now, back when it was just Rory and a camera. Still always so impressed with the work Trail Mater can do, truly an impressive machine. Thanks for another entertaining video!! 💪🦅🇺🇲
Familiar and unfamiliar. Rory works with limited budget plus max skill and creativity in such a beautiful setting garnished with rib tickling humor. No other channel offers such interest on that level. Team TM go get em!
Beautiful Trail Mater doing what she does best. Love it. She sounds so good. You guys were super accurate with those rocks you were tossing under the wheels. At least with the ones you showed. Lol. I'm so glad that family is ok.
Watching Rory and Shawn chunking the rocks into those holes makes me think....They must dominate the Corn Hole Tournaments in that area! Amazing mother nature can surprise people that easily! Thanks for the video!
Man that is some serious cinematography on the way out there. It does my heart good to watch the O'l Trail Mater square up on a hard pull. There is something primitive about that beast, that is like a bag of Doritos, satisfying. Thanks for sharing guys, Be well.
I've been wanting to visit Cathedral Valley for the longest time but I'm fully aware I don't currently own a vehicle that can handle those backroads...and definitely not in monsoon season! Glad the family was okay. That probably was a stressful experience.
There's something ironically logical about the fact that you use old (i.e., simple) vehicles to recover modern computer-controlled vehicles that can't even shift without power to the ECU.
Exactly. In the old days of carburetors you could drive pretty far on just the battery. It was only really running the ignition coil. With everything electronic now it's just not possible. Also when driving offroad that Armada has a traction control system that will use the ABS pump to brake the slipping wheel. That'll suck some energy out of the battery, especially in that mud.
@@Fix_It_Again_Tony If you had a magneto, you didn't even need a battery at all. The spark plugs were powered by the engine, via the magneto. My brother in law spoke highly of magnetos, said they were extremely reliable. I only saw one once, and it was from a very old bike. If I remember right, magnetos are very expensive compared to a coil and distributor, but it's been 25+ years since I heard any of this. I remember the reliability bit because I heard it a lot, but not so much the other stuff.
@Fix_It_Again_Tony O cmon how far back did you go with this. Electric fuel pumps are in use on wide market for more then 60 years. If you go back that far then diesel engines need no electrics what so ever. Start it and go.
LoL, but likely correct. A rental agency years ago had a Chevy blazer for me to use knowing that it was going to be in Death Valley for a month. I told then it wasn't a reliable in that location and weather "heat" of summer. About a week into that they were sending out a rollback and a replacement rental. Over heated radiator failed. I told them any other vehicle but a Chevy SUV. It wasn't even being used like that.
As bad as that SUV was buried I didn't think you could lift it out. Great Work! Hate to think what its going to cost the family.for their repairs and cleanup.
Glad the family got out safe. Was is a rental? I saw a no smoking sticker on the dash. If so, I hope they took out the extra insurance. Great job by Rory and Trailmater to get it out.
Utilizing the buddy system has been said on this channel as well as on other off-road/outdoor channels. Another tip learned from my scouting days is to check in at a local ranger station for current trail conditions or weather alerts. Another good source is the local jeep or ATV rental companies. Nice work Rory and Shawn for getting that vehicle out of a muddy mess.
its great to see the big boy back on the recoveries. That alternator will be full of mud and gunk. I'm surprised it even fired up at all. Good job guys.
I feel bad for the family. That would have had to be a traumatic experience and I’m glad they are okay. The scenery was beautiful and seeing how tough a recovery vehicle trail mater is was awesome. Thanks
❤Great job guys!❤ That family was very lucky. If they were in the Capitol Gorge, 5-6' walls of water come and take your car in an instant. It's horrendous.
Glad to see trail matter back in action. I don’t get enough of the truck lately
LOL that was going to be my comment
@@yvonnedavis1622 There is nothing like Trailmater... it's an icon now. You guys just make sure you keep that ultra-special machine going!
Trailmater wasn't sounding very happy there. Going back on the trailer.
@@mudfun3703 Probably low on fuel??
It sounds Sexy :)

I love the sound of Trail Mater. Full Mad Max dust storm in the intro is a bonus.

Agreed. Nothing like the sound of a big block V-8 putting in the work...
Alll day listening to big block with no muffler - or slim Pickens muffler - I would put some quiet goodies on it I think

I love this truck! Every man needs a truck like this, a shop on wheels. Gnarly recovery, it was awesome!
Man they were really buried. Thanks for no crappy music.
Love that there is no music on this channel.
They do sing to themselves sometimes which can be amusing.
Right on. If you want "music" you know where to get it.
I'm with you. Crappy "music" made me delete Matt's recovery channel, although he had cute teenage girls. Don't bother with it.
@@bstrachan8527I just recently discovered this channel when Matt mentioned it on a couple of his recent videos
So good to see Trail Mater at work. I love Ol' Blue, but love to see the King doin' it's thing.
Beautiful Trail Mater doing what she does best. Love it. She sounds so good.

Watching y’all having problems trying to recover these new vehicles definitely makes me glad I have older ones
Rory was throwing darts with those rocks at 7:00 Color me impressed.
It's great to see Trail mater back in action.❤ Haven't seen Justin in long time. Hope all is well. Thanks guys😘

It is nice to see the old trusty square body squaring up😊
That’s one hell of a hard pull ! Trust in Rory = job accomplished and well done ! MY MAN DOES IT AGAIN !!!!!!
Very nice to see the truck that started everything.
I've been wanting to visit Cathedral Valley for the longest time but I'm fully aware I don't currently own a vehicle that can handle those backroads...and definitely not in monsoon season! Glad the family was okay. That probably was a stressful experience.
That car was definitely suctioned in good. Nice recovery. Thanks for sharing
I love the sound of Trailmater in the morning. Reminds me of Victory!
Murica!
Good driving thru the mud Shawn.
Some of the shots you take of the area is awesome . I want to go visit someday .

Rory, Trailmater crew, please keep doing what you’re doing. The channel is great just the way it is. Thank you for the entertainment.
The bloopers at the end of most videos are the best part. Thanks to Justin.
Good job guys! Grew up out there on the last chance ranch. Plenty of trips out to the sink hole, watching wild horses and enjoying the views!
Nice recovery, good to see Trail Mater back in action! That old truck makes the show and always saves the day...
thanks for going Shawn😁
Thank You for getting THE ONE AND ONLY TRAILMATER BACK OUT WHERE HE BELONGS!
I was lucky enough to drive by your shop just not lucky enough to drive by when you were open. Keep up the good work. You guys are awesome
Thank you Rory and Shawn for the adventure , seeing some beautiful scenery and a nice recovery !
Great job guys trail mater putting in work I bet those people were really thankful
I love the scenery you show. Beautiful country.
That thing weighs as much as the Spanish Armada! 😂 Nice job! 👍🏼
Desert, water, mud, flash flood, dead battery, drive by wire, washed out roads, and blowing dirt make for a tough recovery. But you guys did it. Nice.
The beauty of these types of recovery's is you don't have to be concerned about getting the customers vehicle dirty, inside or out!
Nice to see trail mater on a recovery
Thanks for the video trailmater good to see ole mater out working
Shawn, Mike and Justin are getting real sharp on video and editing and Rory just about has driving the camera dolly figured out. Cheers, Mark
The newer the vehicle the more power it needs just to survive. Not surprised the battery didn't last long. Trail Mater putting in the work.

Rory wanted to say I think you are one great guy watching you with Laura of Laura farms. Great video but you are a patient teacher and a team player
Nice recovery. Glad the people got out safely. Seeing all the mud inside I wouldn’t be surprised if it is a total. Mater sounds sick.
Y'all are hilarious! Electronics and 4x4s don't mix too well...
Yea, a mud infused alternator might not come back to spec
Bout time we see ole Mater out on the trail.
Rory ya'll live in a beautiful place. That SUV was buried and I'm surprised it started and ran. Great job. Ya'll say safe
Great to see Trail Mater out there. Wondering if a liberal shot of break clean in the alternator might have cleaned it up enough to start charging.
I am always amazed at were you all go and what you do! Thank you for the great videos!
I love this Channel !!
BEAUTIFUL TERRITORY THERE FOR SURE..THANK YOU
Besides it being muddy as hell,y’all have beautiful scenery.I never thought the desert could be so beautiful.
Some people don't realise how difficult it is to be towed or to be the one doing the towing... Not a skill anyone can master. You guys rock! 🎉
That car was really stuck! Flash flood is no joke!
I bet the rental car company was happy to see their car back.

Thumbs up, Great adventure, lucky no one injured,

It’s nice see trail mater out doing what it dose best 😊
As bad as that SUV was buried I didn't think you could lift it out. Great Work! Hate to think what its going to cost the family.for their repairs and cleanup.
For sure, that's a heavy truck, and then every crevice packed with mud. That's a lot of extra weight, and the suction in the mud
Mater had a workout.
TrailMater to the rescue, Rory and Shawn have a Grove that can't be matched.
Nice work guys
Nice to see you back @trailmatter missed you so much
Some of the best , brothers in arms, I have ever seen is in this channel ❤
Living in the Southwest Desert, water always wins.
Nice job getting thru the mud hole Shaun
Glad the family got out safe. Was is a rental? I saw a no smoking sticker on the dash. If so, I hope they took out the extra insurance. Great job by Rory and Trailmater to get it out.
Those people were lucky ! Thanks for sharing another great video !
Luckily they were safe, But that mud eats cars…. Great work trailmater🎉🎉🎉
Geniuses book of world record of longest jumper cables
Nice to see the OG TrailMater back in action
Man that's crazy how fast the battery died. Modern electronics doing their thing I guess.
As always great video guys. My favorite channel!
That's got to be a costly tow and then repair 😮
Right tool for the job. Trailmater

Wow, that car was swamped! I bet on top of being completely bellied out it probably has an extra 1,000 lbs. of mud packed in every nook and cranny!
Was that 2 tents of a mile?
That's got to be a top contender for worst vacation nightmare
Impressive that the whole front end didnt come off. Good job guys. Best crew on TH-cam.
I was wondering about the mud inside of the front bumper.
And another great job done.
Ahhh, nice to see The King out on the trail.. I suppose Rory and Trail Mater are there too! ;)
Sure am glad that the family figured out the difference between we are stuck, and the car is stuck. Keep up the good work!
Dam watching some of these off-road recovery's is proof that some city folks are not the sharpest knives in the set.
Guess AAA didn't want nothing to do that tow 😂😂 Thank You Rory and the Boys for rescuing another stuck vehicle !!!! TrailMater Rocks !!!!
its great to see the big boy back on the recoveries. That alternator will be full of mud and gunk. I'm surprised it even fired up at all. Good job guys.

Always good to see mater back in action. Idling seems a little rough kinda like it’s got a fuel problem. But still my favorite truck.
Rory with trailmater is awesome to watch in action
Thank you guys
TM sounds sooo good! Awesome rebuild guys!
I really like how, even in the midst of a fun recovery, you guys take the time to point out the incredible sights in Utah.
In my eyes you guys are the real Americans. I wish you good luck!
Suction is an amazing thing! Great job getting it out
Yeah! Trail Mater is back for a new video. Rory, you and Mater are what brought me to your channel some years back.
Looks like a stock y62 patrol glad you got it out. Most of the y62s here in Australia are lifted n modded out
Excellent job, guys!
The best always make it look easy.
i love the boom cam, sweet angle
Oh no trailmater don't want to go swimming again Rory 😮
