In this video series we are designing a Bookkeeping Spreadsheet using Excel, and in this presentation we complete the final template.
This Basic Bookkeeping Spreadsheet can be adapted and expanded to meet your individual requirements.
During the course of this series we use many of Excel Commands, Formulas, Functions and Techniques and we recognize that on occasions you may need additional help. If this is the case then please leave a comment.
    We hope you enjoy watching.

Thank you for this series, I used all your explanations to write a similar application for a small business on MS Access :)

I just finished the entire report and it was a learning experience. I hope you guys keep building on this report. Things such as a data entry page that would make it look as a data base. Also a way to put scanned or pic receipts attached to the transaction.
I have been following you guys for a bit and you guys rock, this one takes the cake.

HELP! First, I have to say that your spreadsheet tutorial videos are exactly what I needed. I was handed the books for a "very small" town historical society and was able to watch all 8 videos to create a professional Bookkeeping Spreadsheet. But...I noticed I have an issue with a line or two of expenses not transfering to my report. Should I go back to the COA video and reapply setup from there forward, or should I scrap the spreadsheet and start completely over again? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Ready for a stupid question.. please prove my point for someone.. in cash basis accounting do you record deposits and payments after they clear the bank? Would like to prove a point to someone... Thanks!

That's the general idea, if they are on the Bank Statement, then you record the transaction. :-)

@@MrSpreadSheet does that include checks as well? So the check that say I wrote in oct 23 didn't clear till Jan 24 it would be recorded for Jan 24? And this is what my books would look like..just like my bank statement?
