I buy plastic sheets (non-acidic and PVC-free) that don't have chemicals that going to affect the banknotes and seal them.
For me, I bought packs of 5mm thick sheets (200 sheets per pack) and it's a bit thin for my liking, but still gets the job done. I bought a sealer machine ($20-30 on Amazon) and a paper cutting table ($30~ on Amazon), measured the length and height you wanted, and sealed the edges.
A bit time-consuming, but it keeps the note in a holder in the right size I want and anyone can handle it without me worrying about them taking the note out with their dirty hand. 😅
