As a Saudi I think one of the best filmmakers out there representing the middle east is Asghar Farhadi. I recommend Asghar Farhadi's films to all of my friends because he is a very talented director. His films are original, authentic , engaging and challenge the western orientalist view. The middle east has a lot to learn from you guys.

as an iranian i can say, iranian film makers know the best way to show the suffer and pain in a movie because they tasted the pain with the things going in the country.
Like Bollywood and Hollywood They don't use glamour, women's skin and intimacy to sell their movies but they have great and powerful stories.
I think they can do it because they go through it ……

I watched my first Iranian movie this year called World War 3 & ever since then ive been on a Iranian movie spree. I must say I am fully attracted to Iranian screeplay & drama, theres something so intrigueing about it.
Also the lizard was one of the best comedy movies I've seen

A separation should have won best picture.......king's speech was a great watch but a separation was just.....fabulous

I find it very strange that Iranian films never care about providing Persian subtitles. There are also no Persian film scripts on the internet. It is deplorable and sad especially for those who want to learn the language.
