i would LOVE to see you talking more about sisterhood. i have an older sister and i've just always felt like i try so hard to be more than just sisters and get to the point where we're friends but i also feel like we wouldn't even get along if we weren't sisters cause we're SO different. maybe i've always been obsessed with this cause younger sisters always crave approval. but i would love to see you dive more into this topic, its so interesting and complex and complicated. also: that turtleneck looks so good on you!
I really enjoy the shift of this channel. Prior to now, it has been all about this rushed and stressed Katherine that lives from stress explosion to the next stress explosion. Deadline by deadline. And now its the new Katherout, that's tired of this bullshit and doesn't keep up with it anymore and lives a happier and fulfilled, laid back zen lifestyle with her friends and family. Love it!
Also really glad I'm back to uni, even with all my 8 AM classes (4 out of 5 days), it gets more structure back into my day, I don't think about if I should wash my hair for days anymore, I just know I need clean hair and so I wash it. Sounds so simple, but it makes my life easier.
Feel you so much on the routine thing, I simply can't go to sleep when I haven't brushed my teeth, I can't be tired enough to not do it. Also, I need to go to the toilet right before turning off the light, and I procrastinate going to the toilet cause I'm too lazy to go there and so I can't sleep till I've done it, even when I don't really need to go to the toilet.
I'm absolutely adoring your content at the moment!! Giving me an absolute burst of life realism joy during the lockdown I'm currently in. I'm defs adding Seattle to my travel list once international travel is a thing again. Sending love from New Zealand xx
Thank you for this series Katherine!! I see so much of myself in your thoughts about routine, relationships with family, trying new things, etc. I’m a recent college grad in my first big girl job working from home while living back at my parents’ house, and looking forward to moving to my own place in a new city hopefully in the spring!
This transition has been so smooth for you because you are in flow with who you are and what you need to experience in this life. Keep doing what feels right and has the least resistance! I love your talks. It’s nice to have some coffee and listen 🥰
It took me all the way to moving to America from India to be able to see my parents as people and repair my relationship with them. I think this is something not a lot of people talk about. No matter how much you care about someone or respect them as an individual, being in the same house is just not always good for you. And that’s okay. Alsooooo yessssss totally on that Kalel train *chefs kiss* . What a great video 🙂, thank you for sharing!
ahh totally get the sweet satisfaction of doing things you really want to put off now as a little favour to your future self, i'm legit washing dishes rn but im working early so it's a silly little gift for myself tomorrow morning, the luxury of a clean n tidy kitchen?? We love. also a little list of said accomplishments, no matter how petite, i have found v helpful. have rediscovered your videos today and you've kept me company through doing chores so thanks so much! So enjoying this vulnerability train 💘🚂💫
I always say that I'm doing things for my future self. For instance, if I have dishes in the sink at night but I don't want to do them, I do them for my future self because I know I'll want to do them even less the next day.
Self-care for me is more about doing the things I really don't want to do out of laziness but I know I'll feel better after like a walk or eating at home instead of eating out or going to the dentist. Also, keeping boundaries is a form of self-care because you are protecting your future self from being overwhelmed and burnt out.
Yes! I’ve recently been really focusing on reframing my idea of self care to include more doing the things I don’t want to (but will be good for me) and setting boundaries so I definitely agree!
I honestly can't take in all of this, its just toooo great. I'm so happy somehow the algorithm gods sent your channel into my life, but this is filling parts of me i didn't know could be filled on TH-cam. And also gives me the "OK" to also just be myself on here. THANK YOU GIRL. Much love from Toronto
Late to watching this but would LOOOVE love love to see you talk more about that quality of life and feeling at home in diff cities topic - In the last three years, I moved from NYC to SF and back to NYC and I'm still really torn over how to value the city where all my friends live and thrive vs smaller cities that are closer to nature like the PNW (I visited a few times in the past few years and absolutely fell in love with it but have no friends or family or other familiarity with it and I totally recognize that visiting a place is so different from living in that place but its not often I totally fall in love with a city from visiting). Also moving cross country isn't cheap or easy by any means and I just love your perspective and wanna hear more. More oversharing, always!! :) Thanks for being so vulnerable too!
Okay, your discussion about the clothes rotation for youtube videos was completely identical to what I think when filming videos. Thanks for putting it in perspective that probably no one cares lol also love this series :)
It's the IUD that causes your acne. I have had mine in for 8 years, got it removed two years ago and now I have the clearest skin I've had in my life - took my skin two whole years though to fully recover.
2 of my friends were roommates. It went left so badly. They didn’t talk for 3 years. After Rona so many couples ended. It really just was a fast forward button in my opinion.
I love you sharing about your skin. I like learning about it from Dr Drey on her TH-cam channel. I’m also obsessed with washing my face every night. It’s more important than wearing PJs.
Did you know you could get a pack of microfiber cloths and use them with plain water and your makeup will come right off? Even waterproof mascara. It’s like a magic eraser for your face. You’ll never have to use or buy wipes again and it won’t irritate your face because its just water. Game changer.
Saw you using makeup remover wipes: I was told that they are not considered to be good for skin. Maybe for occasional use when travelling, but not for a day-to-day use. I switched to micellar water.
Love your evaluation of quality of life. NYC I loved because I would get out of the subway and be accosted by art, crafts, fresh veg, even meditators and reiki guys. Granted, would love for it to smell better and be a little less loud. (screeches of the train, agh!) But now I get the ocean, the breeze, a bit of trees. Not to the extent of Central Park tho.
omg i say that my sister is the worst roommate I’ve ever had too hahaha but it’s true! our relationship has been so much better since we don’t live together anymore. love this inclusion on sisterhood
I legit cannot go to bed without brushing my teeth, washing my face, taking off my makeup, flossing, etc. i cannot do it. I will stumble around half asleep or drunk before I pass out without skipping it. It’s like an itch I have to scratch.
Omg another reminder that I need to watch Fleabag! Do you like Killing Eve? I was really grateful for your beginning part about how your routines fell apart and it caused you to fall apart (or… you shared the same uncertainty I do as to which came first or what exactly happened). My job has kept me on with 0 work for a year (I know that sounds insane - I guess it is!!) and I am a different person. I don’t recognize myself lol. I don’t use my planner and I have horrible habits. I finally realized I should stop waiting for the situation to change, even if abruptly going back to the “hustle” is going to be painful.
What Shampoo and conditioner do you use? I go to the hair hole in Edmonds but my gf isn't going to be working there and it would be awkotaco to get product from her old boss. lol! but yes, any hair care reccomendations? Good nourishing products? like from paris type good conditioning, lol?!
I'm gonna need to check out Kalele again haven't followed her for years. You inspired me to put the dirty dishes piled up in the sink up in the dishwasher. Also, i definitely wouldn't be friends with my sister if she wasn't my sister. I've known that for ever but I think she takes it more personally than she needs to
I'm barely into this video but I feel compelled to leave a comment regarding the use of face wipes. I highly suggest ditching them, they really don't have any value in a skincare routine; they don't really remove the makeup, they clearly irritate your skin (it was going red) and they're not very good for the environment. A double cleanse with some kind of cleansing balm/oil followed by a gel or cream cleanser will change your skincare life. There are loads of options out there, it's just a matter of finding the right one for you. I just watched a little bit more and you were talking about curology and I don't know much about them but perhaps they have some products that would allow for a double cleanse.
If you get a bad zit, just put a tiny bit of toothpaste on it. The baking soda in it will dry it out and it will be gone in a few hours. I've been doing this for years.
I just want my skin to be good. I resent being 30 and concerned about wrinkles And pimples 😡😅 had really good skin for a little bit when I was getting occassion facials and using the fancy moisturizer they recommended so I think I'm just gonna have to get back into that life 😅
yoo this is random but your sister looks like Rooney Mara haha! great video btw, agree with ur perspective on rooming with friends and family, not the best idea from my experience!
I like just told you on Instagram that I'm considering an NYC move next year, but then you talk about city + mountains and other nature and I'm like....ok maybe Seattle? I think I need to at least plan a visit; I've only drove through on my way to Bainbridge Island on a road trip years ago (which was beautiful).
I usually like your channel, but I really did not like how unclear it was at first that that skincare brand was sponsoring the video. It did not feel honest, and ads should always be apparent!
What is coel’s TH-cam name? I’m definitely misspelling it but I went off Noel… I wonder if the curology employee who had to approve your video took away something great from this video cause I did
i would LOVE to see you talking more about sisterhood. i have an older sister and i've just always felt like i try so hard to be more than just sisters and get to the point where we're friends but i also feel like we wouldn't even get along if we weren't sisters cause we're SO different. maybe i've always been obsessed with this cause younger sisters always crave approval. but i would love to see you dive more into this topic, its so interesting and complex and complicated.

i’m so glad you resonated i don’t hear that many ppl speak openly about it but sisterhood is a wild thing to navigate!!!
@@boredguy5805 yes. we lived apart for a bit but right now we live with my parents because covid isn't over in my country yet.

The thing about attachments to cities and places sounds super interesting!
LOVEEEE these oversharing vlogs. So transparent and relatable.
🥲🥲🥲
I'm literally crying that first clip brought back so much nostalgia for the PNW.
PNW beauty unparalleled…
not me nodding my head when you talk about binging while I binge your last few videos lmao
"it is worth giving myself the chance for tomorrow to be good" DAMN
I always say that I'm doing things for my future self. For instance, if I have dishes in the sink at night but I don't want to do them, I do them for my future self because I know I'll want to do them even less the next day.
showing up for yourself like that is 💞💞💞
The nightly and morning routine is a must! It definitely helps settling down at night and getting the day going in the morning

the part in ur video about roommating with ur sister is literally what jus pushed me to go to work today...thank u so much❤
omg 🥺
I got these reusable cloth makeup wipes that I have been really liking!! Just water no chemicals to burn your eyes :)
Curls looking on point!
thank youuuuu!!!
Ugh I left Victoria BC at the beginning of the pandemmy and this content makes me miss my old home so much!
Kath your eyebrows look so good natural. I think you could totally do just brow gel
Pls drop the place attachment book I’m intrigued (equally important, drop the haircare routine bc your curls are perf)
As far as makeup wipes, try a makeup eraser, you only need to use water with it and it actually works plus it's reusable!
i am SO happy these vlogs exist
Loving your content as always! So happy to see you really enjoy your new home. Also, your hair is looking amazing!! Look at those ringlets!! 🤩💕
I use la roche-posay micellar water as makeup remover at night and it works! It’s the only thing that doesn’t totally dry my sensitive skin out

I would recommend an oil cleanser for makeup removal instead of wipes. I use the Hanskin Pore Cleansing Oil by Soko Glam and it’s very gentle :)
Also I loved this series so much 🥺 thank you for being open & vulnerable with us.
It's the IUD that causes your acne. I have had mine in for 8 years, got it removed two years ago and now I have the clearest skin I've had in my life - took my skin two whole years though to fully recover.

You know what, I’m gonna save this video for another time I also need a talk to kick me into doing the neglected daily chores, thank you!
Hi from Vancouver 👋🏼 looks like you visited on a great weekend! Super rainy now ☔️
it was so alluring…
Yep, me too the bedtime routine is a MUST idc if it's Armageddon outside I WILL do my bedtime routine!

You should visit Victoria. You can take the ferry from Washington or go through Vancouver.
Off topic but your glasses are so cute!
thank u! have had em forever
i’m gonna need you to drop the curly girl routine in between oversharing
i think i have gotten enough requests for this that i must…
Hello! I love the makeup eraser for removing makeup. It no joke gets rid of any trace with just water...and it is reusable. :)
How did you grow out your eyebrows to the way they are now? They look amazing! Share your secrets!
literally zero plucking for a year LMAO
