Drummer is a star.
Annie's really slamming those drums!
She is GREAT
Never seen this bassist, great groover! Shermy, Nicole, and Annie stronger than ever.
Every show I watch of SURFRAJETTES just draws me in even more. What an amazing band. Nicole play's with such great feel and I love her tone. Annie is one fantastic drummer. Just amazing! Shermy and Sarah are great too. This band are so talented and I hope they keep going for a long time.
...plays...
Hope they make enough money to play forever. Really have a feeling for good music. Thanks for sharing a great band.
I am crushing so hard on the drummer 🥁💓
She absolutely slayed the kit!
She is one of the best out there
Love the boots
I was at this performance, and it was great. Had a chance to meet and speak with them afterwards, they were incredibly friendly.
What a breath of fresh air. Not hard on the eyes either! Love it!
Drummer for 40 years here. The new drummer is fantastic. Love these ladies. I wish I could see them here in the Northeast. Good luck on the UK dates!
Thanks for sharing this great show by this great band with us! Much appreciated!
Perfect for this mornings' 'get up and joyfully move your body' session.
I like that Nikki always looks like she is in the zone. Lots of concentration.
Outfits look great.
And the best part is she plays perfectly. They’re all very professional.
keeping Surf music alive Lovely
Enjoy to listing to those Lady's ! Great playing, perfect outfits!
🎼🎶🎵🎶🎵🎸🎸🎸🥁
Is my face red! I'm the guy you see getting into the frame at the right hand side. I'm so sorry! I wasn't aware you were taping or that I was in your way. Again, sorry. I drove all the way from Greenville SC specifically just to see them. Viva la Surfrajettes!!
Not a problem. It’s the way things go. I don’t go to shows to get in anyone’s way or act like my presence is more important than anyone else’s. I adjust the best I can. It was a great show and you definitely had a good spot.
I loved being here it was awesome
🤓🎸👍 Great !! Hello from Germany !
Dude thank you posting this! What an awesome show and the talent of this band is unreal. They're just always in sync and calm. It's so rad!
Thank you so much for this full set👍👍
Super to hear some good old fashioned instrumental guitar music.
The ladies are amazing. Saw them in Atlanta the day after this show was recorded. They did not disappoint. Hope they got the van fixed.
"We drove here" says Nicole and they do! In their snow to the surf tour they drove from Toronto to San Diego, up north on to Texas and mid west and back to Toronto and did not miss a date! Great shows everywhere!
They drive about 6000 miles in a tour. Sometimes it's drive - gig - pack up straightaway and drive overnight to the next gig. Hard workers.
great drumming
Love the Gretsch Victoria combo amps!
Thanks for the video. They were fantastic Friday night in Spartanburg.
Love the matching dresses and boots.
Excellent recording, Turtle Wars, you did a great job with the audio and video, thanks for posting. Of course, an excellent band to work with:
OMG i'm back in the 60-s. got free music like this on my channel, Marty Sender You Tube. white boots, boufant hair, checkered dresses..................................wow. thumbs up
When my daughter saw the movie Freaky Friday she said, “I could do that!” She became a college trained jazz guitarist. ❤
I luv you Nicole😘
Always great❤️
I like the voices 🙂
Like all instrumental bands you have to hit it with a great opener. They did it and do it, every time.
PMW ShadowsMix
Love the new amps
They are supporting Reverend Horton Heat this tour, and using their gear.
They've gone TOO crazy good! Now, what do we do?
They should be on a cereal box!
Thanks! 🎻✌️🙂😎
Greattttttttttttttttt Job !!!
West Coast tour, por favor!
so talented!
Where do you live? Are you from Texas by any chance?
Best band name of all time.
❤❤❤❤
"IFIC" is the word that that all Space Age Surfers use to explain the cool tones...zoom on crazy cool Surfrajetts into the cosmos , signed the Jetsons
Now this is how the 50's should have been!
60's
I am sad i am going to miss them in Syracuse!!!😢😢😢😢
Can’t help but wonder how successful would a female version of The Ventures have been back in the day. 🤔
I was in town ...had no idea this was happening...
I'm going to see them tomorrow, Manchester, NH!
The last track is at least part In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg.
Thanks! I’ll try to figure it out in more detail and make any necessary corrections.
Yeah, but it was The Lancasters (with Ritchie Blackmore providing guitar) that recorded the version (Satan’s Holiday) that the ladies cover here. Homage was always paid by Ritchie and his mates to the Grieg original - a real cool cat in his day.
Loving the Jettes....Team Nicole!
Sounds like the ventures
🔥❤🔥
Nice stage this time and cool outfits.
You all sound great. Hi to the new blond bass guitarist. Would joke she came from Bass Pro Shop (but the joke may not translate well)
It might translate best if she were a fish.
Klasse ,jetzt noch ne gute Sängerin
these ladies are fantastic
Those cables over the ground are an accident waiting to happen.. lol, thanks for the share 🎸🎶🎶
I wonder why they don't go wireless!
@@frankeustache9947 - my guess is that it’s about authenticity: the original surf-music bands weren’t wireless so why do it any other way?
hello , I'm a pro turtler...jus wonder , is that a new bass player....my eyesight is going , so I can't be sure....Rockin chit
Pretty sure this is just temporary because Sarah is a teacher.
kool
Always great but drummer and bass standing out this show.
''You get a quick tan with QT, a double tan you'll see,
It tans you any time, rain or shine, when you use ✔✔QT'' 😀
Should maybe try a Sonny and Cher cover with a twist just a suggestion
Did they get a new bass player
I spoke to her afterward, and she said that she was a temporary replacement for this tour only. She apologized for hitting some "bad notes", but I sure couldn't tell!
Love them to pieces but wish they would sing a couple of songs....I wouldn't care if they were original or covers ..
Curious. What make of guitar amps are they using here?
Gretsch Victoria looks like to me
@@lylesommers5018- that’s what somebody else said in here earlier too.
Not bad at all....🤔
But where is the red gal?!
What happened to Sarah on bass ?
Where's the tall red head bass player?
New bass player?
Sure is nice to see four hot surfer girls play cool surf music. Ya I know you are from Toronto. But you still look like Surfer Girls to me. 🥰
hold on.... where is the usual bassest?
Sarah couldn't do these dates, so Keke is filling in.
i'm curious why they always seem to have different bass players? this is the third different bass player ive seen with them within a year or so.
They have a variety of bass players that fill in when their permanent bassist, Sarah Butler, can’t travel.
@@turtlewars3156 gotcha, thanks
All told, live, in the studio and on social media there's been seven bass players.
@@chrisst8922 7? Wow!
The base players keep spontaneously combusting.
They have it all but voices
It’s instrumental music, no voices needed.
Agreed, they should have a vocalist to separate from the pack. Otherwise they'll have to up their guitar game to The Surf Coasters or The Whys.
Apparently they have. In interview some years ago Nicole said they've all got good voices and might surprise us all with a four part harmony one day.
Where's Momma Bear?
New gal playing Base.
She's rockin n got a louder punchier rig too
Earlier in here it was said, unfortunately, that she’s only a temporary replacement since the regular bassist, Sarah, was preoccupied for this tour (I guess we’ll see how many more times she can turn in that excuse before they run with this girl).
Do these girls smile?
Shermy smiles all the time!
They are talented. A vocalist for every third song would be interesting.
They do one small, combined vocal on "Train Kept a-Rollin'" ....... "Lookin' so good yeah I couldn't let him go"
So they don’t sing? 🤔
No, it’s instrumental music, no lyrics.
It’s surf music, so no.
It’s surf music so no, though I hear they can and quite well.
Why do all their songs sound the same?
It’s the general style of the type of music. They may vaguely sound the same (just like many bands) but all of the songs are different.
why do they even have a mic? Nobody sings
So Nicole can talk to the audience occasionally between songs.
It's takes 3 girls with guitars to do what Dick Dale did with ONE. 🤦♂️
Hey Anthony are u a musician. Ones a bass ones playing rhythm and the others playing melody lead. This is how band are usually set up.
Sore dick down many times have his autograph talked to him for about an hour about Fender amps and his part in helping Leo fender create The Duel Showman
Dick Dale was incredible
There is absolutely no comparison between these girls and Dick Dale
The songs sound the same.
As they should, I think great bands should sound the same for their entire careers. If you have a good formula, stick with it.
@@turtlewars3156 There is a difference from having a "sound" and sounding the same. As long as they have fans, my opinion means nothing anyway.
@@stuwest3653 No, your opinion means something to *you*. Clearly, the Surfrajettes' sound appeals to many people besides you.
@@alanw356 Clearly, most people have never heard of this band and those that have and think they are average at best far outnumber those that disagree.
@@stuwest3653 it is entirely true that "most people" have never heard of this band. But I'm curious how you came to the conclusion that those that have, think this band is "average", since the majority of TH-cam comments are positive?
In any case - You said your opinion means "nothing"; I was defending your opinion, saying it DID mean something, to *you*, just as mine means something to *me* but it may mean nothing to anyone else.
Within a genre - Surf Rock in this case - anyone with a chip on their shoulder can claim that the songs sound similar, or the same, right?!
Art is subjective and personal. If one likes something, why not say something good about it? And if one dislikes something, why not just move on until you find something you can like, then say something good about THAT?!
All-instrumental music is very tough to pull off for an entire set. And that's even more obvious today! IMHO, they could go from very good to AWESOME, with just a few key changes: They need some well-executed vocal harmony songs; The frontwoman needs much more audience interaction and expressiveness, show enthusiastic audience appreciation, perhaps telling a bit about the band, how they formed, funny stories, where they've travelled, etc. They need to work on physical stage dynamics and presentation - they aren't nearly kinetic enough - remember, this is supposed to be exciting SURF music - show and build excitement and passion within he band's dynamics - and the audience will follow! I suppose it depends upon how serious they are about taking it to another level, or whether they'll just go a few more years and fade away - which would be sad, as they've worked so hard to get this far, clearly have a great sound, are so musically tight, talented, and such beautiful ladies!
You are boooring.
they're good, tho every song sounds the same, they need a singer.
I don’t think they do, it’s instrumental music, singing would defeat the purpose.
If they ever do a song with vocals, their permanent bassist Sarah Butler has a beautiful voice. Check her out when she was with The Millwinders.
Surf music is good for about 5 minutes. After that, it all sounds the same 😑
As it should.
I can only hope you can find a genre that sounds different enough for you after six minutes of listening
You're right I like these girls they're talented but they are certainly a novelty
It sounds the same if you’re an obtuse hack and can’t appreciate its nuances.
They look like they’re bored out of their minds……
Well they aren’t, otherwise why would they be doing this? It’s just part of their stage presence, which I think is pretty cool.
It's called concentration.
I saw them last night and I have to say hearing them live cannot be accurately equated watching a TH-cam video. I was totally blown away! They sounded amazing and especially the drummer. She’s soooo good.
It’s called being so good they make it look easy.
I’m here for Nicole
New bass player?
Keke is filling in for Sarah on these dates.
