One of my favourite gardens that is near enough for me to visit. ❤ Great video Craig please do more of this kind of thing. As it’s nice to see what the mature plants look like in a garden setting.
Absolutely fantastic, Craig!! I love the Brassiopsis hispida! It’s amazing that you got to work there. I’m going to have to rewatch on my iPad, and find spaces to line walkways with Liriope/ mondo. You did as well or better with speaking in public. (Probably because you’re thinking about it more)
Thanks so much. I think talking flows more easily when I’m out amongst it. At home the garden is so tiny that I have 3 sets of neighbours in their gardens less than 10 feet away from me, I get a bit self conscious 🙈
I visited on Friday. What an amazing garden. Even the cafe area was planted beautifully. Some nice plants in the plant centre too. If only I had more room in the car!
Loved the video Craig! It’s good that you had longer than usual so could have a relaxed mooch around. I’ve definitely noticed your videos becoming more chatty and confident, hope you don’t mind me saying, as you did ask for feedback. Just enough balance of you and the gorgeous gardens, though not nearly enough of the dog!!🐶 What a fabulous place to have worked, and now visit. I say this from Manchester where we are on day 247 of rain, the ark is nearly complete. Would love more tours like this, lots of inspo and your knowledge is really helpful too, big old list of amazing plants that would probably perish oop North!🤣 Oh and lovely nod to George too, it’s not a competition, it’s a club ☀️🌴
Nice innovation Craig- good that you have a personal connection to the garden- be interesting to have some indepth looks at a few of the beds going forward
I like the mule palm Craig, I was just going to comment after only seeing pics of it before then heard my name 😂 I’ve planted a similar one out this spring and if it makes it to that size here I’ll be incredibly happy. Great vid so far and I liked the Hummingbird hawk-moth fly past at at around 5:10 😃
You did great by the way, too multitasking and whilst I completely get the awkward feeling, it certainly didn’t come across. A lovely garden and one I’ll hopefully visit one day!
Really enjoyed the video Craig and well done on the multi-tasking!! Would love to see your dog sometime. We went to Abbotsbury and the plant fair a few years ago, gorgeous garden! Will try and get to the fair next year but it might be a challenge as we shall be living on the Isle of Wight by then!! I shall be starting a brand new tropical garden and will be needing lots of tropical plants ... I'm taking a lot with me but if I need anything I will bear you in mind. I've actually got two of your plants already, Musa Sikkamensis and Colocasia Pink China. My sister ordered them from you recently for my birthday. She and I are well impressed with the quality of the plants (quite amazed at how you can produce such quality from a small greenhouse and back garden) and the whole service you provided from ordering, through packaging and delivery. I will have no hesitation ordering from you in the future. Looking forward to your future videos. Keep up the good work!!
Loved this tour and you gave great information on each plant. It would be great if the botanical names could be printed on the screen as well (don’t know if that’s possible). How lucky are you to have worked in such a fabulous garden.
I visited to day and was really surprised and impressed with the scale and variety. I did wonder why I never saw any Brugmansia Angel Trumpets? they would have completely made it for me, I have grown them very successfully in. normal exposed garden near Avebury in Wiltshire. The scent off the flowers are something else and really add to the exotic atmosphere
That's great to hear! You will be please to know that Abbotsbury recently purchased several Brugmansia plants from Grow Paradise, so hopefully they will make an appearance in the gardens soon! :D
This was an excellent video that would have benefitted immensely by have the names of the plants that you were talking about show up on a box on the screen. I had a very hard time understanding what the name of the plant was that you were so excited about.
Beautiful tropical garden!!....i just love tropical plants it makes a yard look exotic!
Wonderful garden. Wonderful video. The multi tasking worked fine. Cheers Craig👍
You’ve done a grat job multitasking 😅Please do more of those tours 😊
Great video tour really enjoyed it. And well done multitasking.
Great Video Craig . I'm enjoying watching this one on a dark winter night when my own gardens turned to mush after a few nights of sub zero 🥶🥶🥶
Glad you enjoyed it! I’d like to try to get out to a few more gardens next year with the camera.
Really enjoyed the whole video. Thank you.
What a fantastic and informative video!
Love you craig! You’re doing an amazing job 💫
Thanks Craig for sharing this with us.
I live in a tropical climate and I quite enjoy my tropical plants, At first I started with them to annoy my neighbors.

Brilliant video, I haven't been to Abbotsbury for more than 10 years, I must go again soon :)
Thanks, it’s great and a new curator has just started so I’m sure he’ll make his mark too 👍
Love Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens! So lucky to have them on our doorstep! Video inspires me to take another visit soon! 👍

I completely understand, I have added a full list in the video description
The ponga (silver fern) is our national symbol like Canada’s maple leaf
Location location location. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter to grow many of those lovely plants
What is the palm behind you at 24:20?
Do they have any araucarias?
I would leave the garden with a thousand cuttings stuffed in all of my pockets.😂
You’re not the only one 😂 Thanks for watching!
Great Video. 👍
