Tom Mix was born in 1880. Think about how amazing that is. If you're watching this in 2020 then you're watching a guy who was born 140 years ago. That's like when you see videos posted of gatherings of civil war soldiers in their old age. Seeing pictures does nothing compared to a video of someone.
I just bought a small collection of 8mm movies...most appear to be home movies around 1938 or 39...and 1 8mm titled "Tom Mix Battles the Mexicans" can't seem to find any on it. Anyone ever heard of it?
Tom did several movies (for both Selig and Fox) with Mexican villains. During the 1970s, vendors chopped up movies and duplicated them on Super 8 with all kinds of titles.
Wow thanks for the info! I'm an 8mm collector...but home movies, not studio, they are absolutely unique in a world of "viral" videos and short attention span theater.

Hot diggidy dog! I sure am glad ta' see he done well up yonder in Cactus Creek where i'd done an' burried my ma' back in 19 and odd 7. Sure as shootin' she was a good ol' woman if'n there ever was one!
I remember my grandparents talking about Tom Mix movies. They were big fans, and I can understand if you keep in mind the era.
The story is far better than some of the bottom feeder 30's b-westerns. I'm gonna have to give this one 4 stars.

The film was made in 1913 but I think those title cards were put in at a later date.
