Becoming Jane | ‘Literary Tension’ (HD) - Anne Hathaway, James McAvoy | MIRAMAX

My favourite thing in the world is just the way he steps towards her and slowly reads “a loud, piercing cry.... of ecstasy” - with that pause and that intense eye content. Oh lort!
Great actor....we all fell for him
He's a master of delivering lines seductively
I REALLY find Jane Austin's Story's interesting and sweet and abit creattive
but ... does it beat you to ‘trance’.. that movie
probably overcomes pride and prejudice
Another piercing thing - James' eyes 😍
Okay, this has to stop. James McAvoy is conspiring to kill everyone with his charm.
Morella 😂😂😂😂😂
Like remember in those x men interviews when he was like I wish I had the power to just like make ppl aroused by me and I’m like James hun u already do that
NOT Victorian ! 🙄
Hi, I come from the future to say that in his new movie, it's not only the charm he's using #speaknoevil
the little smirk he gives after delivering that legendary "your horizons must be widened"
👌👌👌👌
What exactly does he mean?
@@eliandrews1866 double meaning - 1) changing her views on things
2) spreading her legs for a man 🙈
"We must fuck" ahahahahah
@@eliandrews1866 he was giving her advice but teasing her at the same time
No kissing, no touching, no nakedness.... but still one of the sexiest scenes in film history.
😱 Never gotten this many likes on a comment.
@@May52525 truth
Don't be exaggerated 😂
Yup why i love these movies. Just like pride and prejudice 2005 when he helps her in the carriage. One touch nothing improper but one touch said it all.
#1 is always pride & prejudice rain scene. My god 🔥
The way he smiled smugly after saying "wiiiiidened". THE BISH KNEW THE OVARIES HATH COMBUSTED.
lmfao
😂😂😂😂😂
This comment needs to be higher with a hell of a lot more likes on it lol.
He was hot!!
So hot that Shakespearean lingo makes entry into a regency context 😁🔥🔥
if i don't fall in love with my future partner from arguing about literature with them in a library i don't want it
Absolutely this! ❤️
😂😂😂
There's always some sort of sexual tension with James in a library haha
Oh you're so right hahahaha😂
Alot of sticky pages🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
Ikr, Atonement
Hahah yes
I believe his most sexy scene is the dancing part.
I need James McAvoy to film more romance movies.
..........i cannot elaborate on how much i agree with this statement
You should watch Atonement, if you haven't already😉
@@Doryplory i would love to....but i already know how depressing that is gonna be and i don't think i'm prepared for that. I need heart-warming and fulfilling cheese...not gut-wrenching, tear-jerking misery
@@alishaghayas8232 I understand. It really is a depressing film, I felt terrible for quite a while after watching it.
@@Doryplory It's basically not the kind of movie to watch with myself, smthg light hearted and easy. These kinda movies i watch with ppl
the way he says "widened" is literally sex
Emily Muller I know right
lmao
I picked up on that just now!!!! Omg.
E Muller 2:18 ... enjoy! 😉
And the good kind I may add.
When Anne has a will...
Anne Hathaway.
I'm sorry.
I love this lmfao
That’s jokes 😂
🤣
Lmao, thanks for making my day
“When Anne hath a will, Anne Hathaway” - Donald Duck
god, those eyes of his and those words. He is SUCH a tease!
50 shades of Jane Austen
Giving porn producers ideas?
I'm saying
Make this a thing
Fifty Shades of Lefroy 😂
LOL
This scene is like porn for intellectuals.
hahahahwhahhaha
Bruh I cackled
True
I just came
+C R F Tis pathetic that you would go low with a term such as “porn”. Intellectuals understand that porn is pathetic.
Sexual tension without being crude... Where do these guys exist nowadays? haha
So true
In our fangirl dreamy minds
It actually was quite crude given their society.
They dont
In our dreams most prolly
The *smile* after he says “widened”
Oh my
Lily Fields 2:18 ... enjoy! 🤭😍
It's the little touch ohgod
James McAvoy is a master of the rushed walk backwards
This movie is fantastic, but I can't watch it a second time, because my heart can't take being destroyed again.
That's exactly my thought after have finished watching it
Same, I could barely handle it once
Same. Mr. McAvoy has the ability to break our hearts regularly. I can watch his works like that with a 5-10 year gap in between screenings. Robbie? Syrano? Don't get me started.
Where to watch this movie??
Now I'm scared to watch it
I read recently that he doesnt get many parts in hollywood because of his height.
Are you kidding me? Hes a great actor!!!
The way he reads and looks at her. And the smoothness. Hes an intellectual but at the same time a player.
Lol he's the same height as Tom Cruise. Didn't stop him.
Reviewing his filmography, I think he's into acting challenges. A bit picky, I might say.
He is a lot better actor Ben Tom Cruise and a lot more sexy, Charming and very charismatic
@@pahvi3 tom cruise is American
We need an audiobook of McAvoy reading that book. Like if you agree😊
I'm in 😁
Yes, please! 😅
HELLLLL YEAH
He is the main character, Dream, in The Sandman audiobook
The face she makes when he says "Your horizons must be... *widened*," is comedy gold
She’s just like what???
I was so mesmerized by James only after I read your comment I realized her expression
If a man “courted” today like they did back then, I know I’d be falling head over heels like mad 😍
Oh I completely agree! I would rather have an old-fashioned courtship than modern dating!
well back then a wife was also basically her husband's property
This was basically dirty talk back then :P
I swear I could not stop blushing throughout this entire film. James, what are you doing to me.
00:35 for some reason i LOVE the way he repeats "then"
2:21 jesus christ that smile *swoon*
Its quite fascinating but also sad to see how her novels always had happy endings although it wasnt the case in her life. Heartbreaking..
If I remember correctly, this one had no happy ending
And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't forget this ending
If I’ve ever written a book, I would write it always has happy ending or unfortunate people with kindness things happen to them after all bc my life never ever had that experience tbh !!
@@mistyfreya That's the point. Because this is about her life.
That's how she comforted herself, probably. Giving her novels happy endings. She has a scene with her sister (whose fiancé died) in which she vows to do that. To make up for real life sucking. After all, it often does.
@@monmothma3358 oh.. yeah, sorry, obviously 🤦🏻♀️
I smiled like an idiot after he said *widened* like he said it to me
Same 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
James McAvoy is an incredible actor and his career has certainly come a long way, but I sure do miss his days as a romantic lead (I'm thinking about this film, 'Atonement' and 'Penelope' in particular). And, my God, was he ever alluring. Hell, he still is.
Even I, through the screen, was crying of ecstasy with this scene.
Her "yes" makes me laugh every time! Great scene X
THE LOOK ON "EXTASY" this scene is such a masterpiece. ❤
I'm in love with this scene... I literally can't stop watching it again and again
“Your horizons must be ...widened” LORD HAVE MERCY I’M BOUT TO BUST
i don't know how these two did not fall in love with each other
“Enough to know that your horizons, must be... widened” AHHHHH
james mcavoy's face is the type you'll see in 18th century paintings and sketches
McAvoy's smile is adorable!!!
OMG. You can almost feel the sexual tension rising between them. lol
He said "widened" with James Mcavoy posessing him for a bit 😂
Yes! His cheeky Scottish self showed 😄
Oh my god he's so charming.
I've got pregnant when he said "ecstasy"
OMG look at his LIPS! The most gorgeous pair I've ever seen!
Emerald Radiance Soooo kissable 😍
Which one??🤨
and his eyes😍
I prefer her pair.
And his voice, and his eyes...ah, Mr. McAvoy, have mercy!
"He's not tasting this dainty" oh gosh ahahah
James Mcavoy could read to me anytime
Sigh. Everyone who is attacking Anne Hathaway for her terrible "English accent". Jane Austen lived 1775-1817. At that time, there was no "English" accent (I will assume you mean RP which came into existence in the 1920s by BBC for broadcast). There were and are MANY English accents and dialects, over 30 at present. Most historians will agree that American accents are closer to the accents of the various dialects of England reflecting where and when the settlers originally came from (Midlands, West Country, etc.). British English began a major shift in the mid-1800s while American English kept its original accents and dialects.
Louder for those in the back, please!!
I was hoping they lived happily ever after. So disappointed. Great movie.
Damn Jane, you should have stayed with him.
Literally I’m like why in the world did she not get married to him!
HIS SMIRK OMG... This movie was so good, but I wish it ended better 😒
dude, james... please.. i literally cannot breathe, wth mate
I'm in love with James McAvoy in this movie.
I might be a lesbian, but James has aged like a fine wine
He went from cute to hot as hell
Both actors look so good.
You don't need to make physical contact to seduce or excite someone. Those eyes are enough🤩🤩🤩
they need to have another movie together
James McAvoy is incredibly hot
James mcavoy is so talented and beautiful
Am I the only one who can’t watch this movie again mainly because I just can’t go through the heart break all over again??
I wish I could hear him say this in his Scottish accent
It would sound even more seductive 😁
i would just combust
I felt that he had a little hint of his Scottish accent here, beautiful indeed. ❤️
0:21 that mm-hmm takes me out
When dude said “lack the history” Lol
He's one of those actors i find attractive in the movie but not in real life
alies x what??? mcavoy is attractive in both reel n real life
Totally understand. He's absolutely gorgeous in X-Men, gentle in Becoming Austen and Dune, cute in Narnia, but irl I just have no interest in him(no offense lol)
+Mani Sarna true that & his kind too.
i imagine that's a testament of his acting! like how an actor is completely different from most characters they play, and they play them so well that you're almost surprised that they're a different person in real life.
+brewcha you got that right
2:18 shaking crying throwing up
my thoughts exactly
They could choose a better actress for this role, James nails it
Right?! And somehow her accent doesn’t convince me
There's always a sort of sexual tension with James everywhere.
oop
Why did they trap him in this stupid action movies, where he is so serious and I don't know what...he has so much passion and sensuality to express with those eyes..shame...
Yes... I feel so disappointed. Anyway, he's a versatile actor so I'm happy that he's been able to show his skills, he was incredible in Split. But I'd love to see him in a period drama again... It's been a while since James appeared on screen though!
okay I get the hype around the horizons must be widened but why is no one talking about the 'experience is VITAL' ghffgh made me weak
I agree 😵 So seductive
Rain scene in Pride and Prejudice, Fountain scene in Atonement and this Library scene in Becoming Jane are the most sexual tension connected scenes in history of cinematography. (Two of them made by James McAvoy and Keira Knightly)
2:21 you SOB 😭❤️ that smile though
My favorite scene!! She is so embarrassed 🥺
As a kid, i knew him as Tumnus from Narnia. Now....
I think we all know😆
Her horizons On a particular aspect beyond history must be……….. WIDENED.
Love James😍! And he's such a hoot in interviews. Would probably melt if I had those eyes and lips in front of me...sigh...
Omg his Voice ♥️
I can’t stop replaying this 😍
That whole bird description had me biting my bottom lip the whole time ....sheeesh 🥰🥰🥰
both are two of few best looking actors in history
Какая бесподобная сцена! Такие глаза у героев. А как Джеймс читал не совсем приличные для девушки слова!
This was hotter than fifty shades of grey. Not the shitty movie, but the book
I remember that scene perfectly, and contrary to what many would think Jane was ashamed of what Thomas had read, maybe and Jane always thought that women were a certain way and Thomas was not (from reading the book), that's why the girl even blushed a little. The rest was Thomas's physique (you saw those blue eyes, they hypnotize me), I think if I had been Jane I would have fainted.
haha sexual tension, from reading a book XD
Omg I just realised when she's reading it at then end its his voice in her head saying some of the words
Literally tongue in cheek "widened" BRUHH
I NEED this tension in my life
Clearly the most sexiest man alive!
Jeez, I wonder were the idea for Darcy and Elizabeth came from.........
0:21 The sound that he made after Anne said: Disturbing?
What a lovely young man he was. Nice grown man, too.
My favorite two actors!!
Ok crazy realization the book he asks her to read is by Henry Fielding in the movie atonement Keira knightly says she prefers Fielding since he is more passionate. Hmmm there’s a conspiracy here.
"Tom Jones" is one of the great novels of English literature. It's very sexy, and in its day, most young women were forbidden to read it. It definitely widened their horizons. :-)
No conspiracy to be had here for inquisitive minds. Quite simply put Henry Fielding’s “Tom Jones” is undeniable classic of British literature. Lived experience translates well into the written word of fiction when done right, and Fielding was a master at this hence the reason for his suggestion in this scene.
According to Jane's sister Cassandra, another man whom she met late in life was the love of her life. She seemed to have only flirted with Tom, and neither took it seriously since he needed to marry money. I couldn't get into the movie bc it's too far from reality.
ohhh man........the passage....the delivery....the *pause* .......then he gives it to her....(the words, that is)....the undertone is pure sex. And it's glorious.
James Mcavoy ❤ forever 😍
Let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel!
LOL 😂😂😂
One of the saddest prettiest movies.
No me gusta esta historia, es muy triste. Pero me enamora la química de estos actores.
Es la verdad!
Love, love, love this movie.
😳 Why do I feel ever so flustered? As if I should drop my handkerchief and expose my ankle.
I may find an actor very attractive, but I have never, nor do I intend to have a crush on them. It just doesn’t make sense to me. That said, I really like James McAvoy’s real accent.
Anne Hathaway's accent sometimes reverts to American
My fav movie, I love Jane Austen
That smile 😍
