A huge thankyou for uploading all those. I've had the best fun over the past few days watching the series. I like to think Gladys did manage to successfully use her feminine wiles to get Arkwright to open his wallet.. and he finally got to her bedroom and her rolling acres. They retired to the seaside and Granville did end up taking over and ended up marrying, and divorcing, the milklady.
the series ended because ronnie barker always said he would only ever do a few series of anything and stop while they were still on top instead of dragging it out untill ppl got bored with it.
@cmlaw70 I like your version of how the series would end. Poor Granville.... I think that would be such poetic justice for him to get the milkwoman and then shove off! Also, the nurse and Arkwright finally getting hitched,,,,,,,,superb! =)
I Don't think Roy Clarke intended on this being the last episode. This was 1985 and OFAH was really hitting its stride so David Jason was getting busy. I suspect that another series or a special may have happened however Ronnie Barker then stunned the showbiz world by announcing his retirement 3 years later in 1988.
I think in the early days of british comadys they just went from show to show.. season to season. They didnt really have a plan about how things would end, they would just get canned I think. No idea if this finished when they actually wanted it to or not. But there is alot of shows like this that only went for two maybe 3 seasons then ended with no real ending.
Mine doesn't have them. Have you tried touching your screen, and if you see CC on it, touch that, and you'll have the option of on or off for your closed captioning.
@@all4paws508 you're welcome, I'm a late-comer to new technology like cell phone and computers, and had no one to teach me this stuff. I found things out by trial and error, and asking ppl just like you did!

Superb British humour 😂😂😂.
Thanks for uploading this great show.
Thanks for uploading all these, I'm a Porridge and Rising Damp fan and had actually forgotten how classic Open All Hours is as well, nice one.

Today, Granville owns the shop with young Art Arkwright serving as the errand boy. The milk lady lives across the street.
A great British series that ended far too soon....
ausome.! they redid this episode in the new series
Brilliant
Funny rewatching these as an adult. As a child I never realised how creepy Arkright was!
It's a sad day now that I've finished with the series.
Great fun !!
Roy Clarke said he would have written another series of Open All Hours but he was never asked to :(
that's a good one look at me when I'm lying to you
BBC cant get anything right still. Great show.

Ah, snuff! Do they even make it anymore?

How does one get rid of the subtitles?
