    I appreciate that you're showing that you tow a trailer in addition to off-roading. I was hesitant to lift my Ridgeline since I started towing but damn it looks like you can do it all.👍

    Dude this is exactly what I needed. Thanks! I appreciate you emailing me about those Flatout options. I’m saving this email for future reference. It will make it easier to do my upgrades if different stages with this. As always, you are the man.

    I purchased the 2023 Ridgeline RTL-E about a month ago. Was set on the Tacoma....for years...and made the mistake of checking out the Ridgeline. Lol...far better daily truck. This said, I camp, ruck, and am an ironman. I am outdoors as much as I can be...usually mountains. I want to outfit my Ridgeline with some trail basics. This is a great video, but, cannot find a good overlanding style bed rack that does not require drilling, etc. my bed. What are the bed rack options for a Gen 2 Ridgeline.

    Have you installed any Auxiliary Isolated Batteries in your Ridgeline. Before I start ordering stuff. And cutting wires. How much extra power is available from the stock electrical system, before things start burning out and catching on fire 🔥 ?

  • @bikebudha01

    My mods:
    1) Traxda 2" Lift kit (2" real inches of ground clearance. This will impact gas mileage at speeds over 65)
    2) Tires: Nokian Outpost AT (as quiet as the stock road tires, handle great in the snow/3-peak - See Tyre Reviews recent review - he's putting them on his own truck. This adds another 1/2" - there is a tiny bit of rub at full lock in reverse/ the tires are 1" larger than stock. these tires don't seem to affect gas mileage)

    Do you do anything for trans over heating. my 2017 would over heat pulling my UTV on a 6x12 trailer. I was driving in mid day traffic for hours and it just gave up and over heated. had to wait 40 mins for things to cool off then could drive slower and did not have any issues. Honda reset the ecu and said nothing was wrong. to me it needs a trans cooler. Let me know your thoughts as well.,

    Hi, Randy. Your rear spring rate is 600lbs/in. What spring rate do you use in the front? Do you consider using a higher spring rate that comes with the GR plus kit (I think it's 400lbs/in)

    • @CampingRandy
      @CampingRandy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are shipping with 500.

      @@CampingRandy Thanks, Randy. My kit came with 400 in the front and 500 in the rear (w/ the rear overload option). Good thing I haven't gotten it installed yet. I ordered the 500 for the front & 600 for the rear, and probably will try to work on it myself. The shops around here wanted more than $1500 for installation of the Flat out kit and SPC rear adjustable ball joint and alignment, so I am going to try to work on it myself. How is your set up with the additional HRG kit working out for you?
      Btw, thanks for your no-nonsense transmission fluid change video, I changed my transmission fluid a few weeks ago

    Randy, what's your thought on a 275/60/r18 Yokohama All terrain tires?

    • @CampingRandy
      @CampingRandy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That put you at 31”. You will rub a bit, but should only be on the plastic. If to bad, you can swap the two hex head bolts for rounded torx, behind the plastic on firewall.

    • @AlaskanSnowLeopard
      @AlaskanSnowLeopard ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @CampingRandy Thanks for the reply. I have the 2021 model, I will be adding the fender flares, and the traxda 2in lift kit soon. I don't mind a slight rub as long as it's just plastic.
      Hopefully the 275/60/r18 will be flush with the fender flares without wheel spacer. I'm using the black hpd rims.

      Thanks for the torx head recommendation. I’m having a 2” traxda and BFG Trail Terrain 255/65/r18 put on my new trailsport this week and I’m worried if it will fit at 31”. I’m hoping the narrower 255 won’t rub. It will be snow driving mostly in Tahoe winters. Everything I read says 265/60/r18 is max. Fingers crossed

    Don’t waste your money on modding your Ridgeline. Buy a Gladiator Mojave and you’ll have a much more capable vehicle in its stock form. You’ll regret it if you do. I own a Ridgeline so I am not a troll or as this guy calls people ‘haters’ (what is he 12?).
