Our Faith in Christ Jesus thru the Grace of God is justified thru the "WORK OF FAITH" (Charity of Love) and not thru the "WORK OF LAW."... for "FAITH without WORK (Deeds/Acts) is a DEAD FAITH"... (James 2:14-26). Amen.
I wholehearted agreed with Martin Luther on the doctrine of justification by faith alone. God the Father is just and he deals justly in dispensing justice to the unjust. But God the Father declares the the unjust as justified through showing grace to those who put their faith in his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
I love how RC focuses on the positive affirmation of being in Christ, rather than the fire and brimstone condemnation of our life here in the flesh route some take. Scripture warns us of the consequences of sin but tells us to focus on "that which is good" which is the Word of God and God Himself.
@Jimmy McCosker Yes, this is true as Jesus was telling us how awful our sin is, in the eyes of the Lord. While the Bible itself is at the same time assuring us of the Love we receive through Him and the Gift of Eternal Life through His sacrifice on our behalf. As those who are saved, we should feel convicted but are not condemned.

@@thinkerj "Faith without works is dead" James 2:26. Jesus saves believers: those who (like Abraham) act on their and obey God. Jesus is: ■ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that *obey* him" (Hebrews 5:9)
@@TheBibleSays Abraham was not justified before God because he obeyed God, but because he trusted God. What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about-but not before God. What does Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." (Rom. 4:1-3) Clear as daylight. It was the act of believing God that was credited to Abraham as righteousness.
@@thinkerj We read in James 2:20-24 that Abraham was justified by "works" . . . "and not by faith only." Abraham's "works" was this: he acted on his faith and obeyed God. James concludes: ■ "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." (James 2:24) Faith alone -just trusting- is DEAD without acting on that faith and obeying God. "Faith without works is dead" (James 2:26) Who does Jesus save? True believers: those who act on their faith and obey. Who does Jesus save? Jesus is ■ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that *_obey_* him" (Hebrews 5:9) This becomes clearer when you look into the Greek words for "faith" and "believe." "Faith" in the Greek was a noun: you possess faith when you possess intellectual trust something is true, eg., when you trust God exists and rewards (see Hebrews 11:6). "Believe" was a different word, a verb: commiting to your faith by acting on it. Abraham _could_ have trusted God's promises, but then decided not to act (leave for the promised land, eg., Heb 11:8) -preferring to remain in the comforts of home. That would have been DEAD faith.
@@HearGodsWord Faith is the hupostosis. Hebrews. It’s the understanding. That’s what saves. The person with an understanding and not the works is a dead understanding. That’s in the book of James.
I'm sure some will disagree with me, but it seems Rome redefines terms, as well as plucking scriptures out of context and building entire doctrines on them. It's ultimately salvation by works. Grace infused works, yes, but work nonetheless. I know, I know. "But James says..." James tells us that faith apart from works is dead. Meaning, saying "I believe in Jesus" does not necessarily mean you have a saving faith. James is not addressing people with saving faith that aren't doing works; James is addressing people with a nominal faith, and since their faith is nominal, they are unable to do good works. Saving faith is accompanied by the Holy Spirit and *will produce works (1 John 3:9; Ezekiel 36; ); the nominal faith that James describes is the same kind of faith he likens to that of demons -- it is not submission to Christ but mere intellectual assent. "The demons believe God is one -- and tremble." People who believe theological truths *about* God but are not submitting themselves to God in repentance. True faith brings justification; true faith is accompanied by the Holy Spirit, and will produce good works (Ezekiel 36, 1 John 3:9)
The whole thing then hinges on what is meant by the term faith. Is faith merely a one time moment of a feeling or declaration of trust? It would seem that it must be more substantial than that since we would expect more from our friends, children, or anyone else than simply words to show that they trust us or believe our willingness and ability to help them; how much more then for God who puts us to the test, and says plainly, "show me your faith without works, and i will demonstrate my faith by my works."
Christ is the author and finisher of our Faith. Everything we need to live godly in Christ, comes from Him when He lifts us out of the Dunghill. Thus saith the LORD... Knowing that a man is NOT justified by the works of the law, but by the Faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the FAITH of Christ, and NOT by the WORKS of the law: for by the works of the law shall NO FLESH BE JUSTIFIED. Then they said unto Him (Jesus), What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent. ...for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His.
@@TheBibleSays Your are correct but your understanding is off. When you are born again, you WANT to do good works. Jesus becomes your EVERYTHING. Good works manifest from salvation. It's not "ok, now that I've accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior, I hope I do enough good to finish the job". Jesus said "it is finished". Faith without works is dead because if you profess to be saved and haven't changed, then that person is lying to themselves. Otherwise, what would happen to a person who lived a life of sin and put their faith in Jesus as an old man? Why should he bother since he won't live long enough to do enough good to make up for it all plus earn his salvation? You and Mr Sproul are Both correct. The problem lies in a complete understanding. I have a good example for you: After I was saved, one day I found a wallet with money in it. Before I was saved, I probably would have just taken the money and tossed the wallet. Instead, I tracked down the owner and returned it all. That 'good work' was a manifestation of my salvation. Although it wasn't required to return it for salvation, if I had kept it, my actions would have been a manifestation of me NOT being saved. Faith and works DO go hand in hand, however; good works come from being saved. They aren't put on a score card to see if I've done enough to be saved. Hope this helped. (Sometimes I'm not very good at trying to explain my point). Many blessings my friend.
I've been Prot. my whole life, and to this day still go to a baptist church. But its funny I never read the Bible from beginning to end. And as I do so it becomes clear to me that Protstants are wrong, as is this gentleman, with respect. Infusion, baptism and penance seem more biblical to me than imputation and faith alone. I like the idea of penance. The Bible seems more real to me with that understanding. Faith alone and imputation has become empty to me as I actually read the Bible myself and get older and wiser. The Prot. Church feels more empty to me, as all the sermons increasingly do from week to week.

Nahhh you guys are just looking for something more than christ. You’re looking to feel something, just rest and be satisfied in Christ. It clearly says faith alone. I dont understand why people don’t just read the text for what it is.
Remfored theology is catholic. You guys just don’t trust Christ and his precious promises. That’s why people become Roman Catholics. Oh I studied church history now Ima Roman Catholic. This atonement was something that our finite minds can’t even comprehend. Rejoice !!
I still struggle to grasp this concept. I am new to Christ and I always feel overwhelmed after realizing I've sinned and it leads to days of unproductivity 😔
Please trust the Holy Spirit to reveal all truth to you as you read the Bible….. you will become more Familiar and comfortable with the truth. I just learned that justification is through faith ( it’s a gift from God) sanctification is something that is an ongoing process until we’re at home with our father in heaven… I am still learning … I am grateful to The Holy Spirit and his ongoing gift of teaching us😊
This is the beginning of your "faith" walk. As you hit these places in your Christian life turn to what the Lord says: "There is NOW no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus". "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more". "As far is the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us". "For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more". When you get down because of something, remember you are HIS workmanship, not yours and He will work on us until He brings us Home. Trust Him. 🥰
This video made things 'click' for me, Jesus said "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" Read it up John 15:5... How does a branch receive fruit to bear? It is by the vine! How does a branch get saved? If its connected to the Vine. As long as you stay in the vine, as a branch, you have nothing to worry about. If you worry about bearing no fruit as you don't want to get cut off from the branch. Don't worry. The Vine you are connected to will bring the fruit through you.. And remember, you can always ask Jesus for help.
Make sure you pray every single day, whenever you're free. Leave all temporary pleasures. im going through unproductivity too. but i feel at peace when i pray. God listens and he will help.
Is a person saved by "faith alone" as is used in the modern climate? No! Is a person saved by faith? Yes. Similarly, a believer is also saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8), by the gospel (I Corinthians 15:1-2), by baptism (I Peter 3:21; Titus 3:5), by enduring (Matthew 10:22), and by Jesus' blood (Romans 5:9).
The two words, "declaration" and "infusion," trigger the intense spiritual battle that continues from the time of The Fall to the present. Looking at the lives of God's chosen people from Seth to Paul we find nothing but sinners who have been declared by God the Father to be righteous because God the Holy Spirit gave them faith to believe in the work of God the Son. The evidence from the Word of God, the Scriptures do not show any "infusion of God's grace." When a group of believers, therefore, get together to hear a preacher, and that preacher proclaims the "church religious system" instead of The Gospel of Christ's righteousness alone for salvation,", it is no longer for that time, the "church."
Romans 5:19 says that through Christ we are made righteous, NOT declared as righteous as understood by the Reformers (that is, we are NOT made righteous but legally declared as righteous). Being made righteous implies infusion. Gen. 15:6 says that Abraham believed in God and it (his belief) was counted to him for righteousness. However in Psalms 106:31 what is counted (the same Hebrew word as in Gen. 15:6) for righteousness to Phinehas is NOT faith or belief, but what he did. Scripture says in 1 John 3:7 that he who does what is right is righteous. Why being made righteous is essential? Scripture says it is righteousness that delivers from death (Prov. 10:2) and the righteous shall go to eternal life (Mat. 25:46). Our ability to have faith and to do what is right (that makes us righteous) comes from and is only possible by grace through Christ - apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). From Scripture we know that we lose our righteousness through sinning in Ezekiel 33:12: "the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins". That is the reason why our sins need to be washed away or forgiven. Contrary to what Sproul said in the video, the existence of deadly (mortal) and non-deadly (venial) sins can be found in the Bible (1 John 5:16-17). Scripture denies (double) imputation in Ezekiel 18;20: "the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself."
@@justfromcatholic Abraham believed God, and God counted it to him for righteousness. That's a declaration of righteousness. Before he was circumcised. Before he did any works of righteousness.

But St Paul will tell us that we mock God if we think we have eternal life without keeping the Law of Christ, walking in the Spirit and doing good works. Do not be deceived; *God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.* For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption; *but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.* *And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.* read the whole letter he also tells them they must not return to works of the flesh Come to Christ and LIve

The idea is just… ridiculous. Therefore… there is only one logical option left, right? And your heart knows it very well. God must have seen something special in you. But there is a BIG problem with that “god” of yours: It’s *UNBIBLICAL.* We know that God doesn’t have favorites. He is no respecter of persons. (Romans 2:11). Therefore, it is *impossible* that God chose you because of something in you. You are not worth a cent more than anyone else. The only reason He did, it's because He knew your response to his call. (Romans 8:29). Just like you wouldn't go out to the streets to force a woman to be your wife without her consent, Jesus isn't going to do it. (Free will). "... Many are called, but few *chosen.* " (Matthew 20:16) How terrible is that you don't care distorting God's character just so you can feel “special”, better than others, chosen! Because… let's be reasonable, a “god” who, being able to choose, chose the vast majority of human beings to be destroyed in hell, without any option for salvation, is not loving, merciful, or good*. It’s not the God of the Bible. Therefore, let us be *VERY CAREFUL* ,lest while trying to give glory to God, we are found to be liars. “ *For the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things.* ” (Jeremiah 17:9).

Yes I agree
a lot of people thing faith in Jesus Christ is believing in Jesus Christ died for our sin was buried and rose again.
But that is a dead faith.
true faith in Jesus Christ is trusting the Son of God to keep his promises, particularly to give the of eternal life to those who repent and love him by keeping his commandments and following his teachings.

@@MrKev1664 Analogy... for example... When applying for a JOB, no one is required to WORK first for the Employer in order to be HIRED... only "AFTER" you are HIRED, that is the TIME, you need to start to WORK... the same analogy...
NO WORK is necessarily required to have FAITH in Christ in order to have the "PROMISE of SALVATION."... Why?... because by/through God's Grace, FAITH in Christ is FREE, so nobody can BOAST to anyone... Jesus saves believers: those who (like Abraham) act on their and obey God. Jesus is:
■ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that *obey* him" (Hebrews 5:9)
@@TheBibleSays Abraham was not justified before God because he obeyed God, but because he trusted God.
What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about-but not before God. What does Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." (Rom. 4:1-3)
Clear as daylight. It was the act of believing God that was credited to Abraham as righteousness.
@@thinkerj We read in James 2:20-24 that Abraham was justified by "works" . . . "and not by faith only."
Abraham's "works" was this: he acted on his faith and obeyed God. James concludes:
■ "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." (James 2:24)
Faith alone -just trusting- is DEAD without acting on that faith and obeying God. "Faith without works is dead" (James 2:26)
Who does Jesus save? True believers: those who act on their faith and obey.
Who does Jesus save? Jesus is
■ "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that *_obey_* him" (Hebrews 5:9)
This becomes clearer when you look into the Greek words for "faith" and "believe." "Faith" in the Greek was a noun: you possess faith when you possess intellectual trust something is true, eg., when you trust God exists and rewards (see Hebrews 11:6). "Believe" was a different word, a verb: commiting to your faith by acting on it.
Abraham _could_ have trusted God's promises, but then decided not to act (leave for the promised land, eg., Heb 11:8) -preferring to remain in the comforts of home. That would have been DEAD faith.
You cannot read Romans 3&4 and come to any other conclusion but that justificatoon is by faith alone in the righteousness of Jesus Christ alone.
But yes you can. You can come to the conclusion that it’s faith only not faith alone.
Yes you can. Those not born again can read any scripture and have it mean everything other than the truth.
@@HearGodsWord Only the faith saves but it’s not alone without works.
@@HearGodsWord No it’s what the Bible says
Yes. As it is writtten, faith without works is dead (James 2:26). And we are judged by our works (Rev 20:12,13) . . . *not* by our faith!

This is the beginning of your "faith" walk. As you hit these places in your Christian life turn to what the Lord says:
"There is NOW no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus".

Therefore… there is only one logical option left, right?
And your heart knows it very well. God must have seen something special in you.
But there is a BIG problem with that “god” of yours:
It’s *UNBIBLICAL.*
We know that God doesn’t have favorites.
"... Many are called, but few *chosen.* "
(Matthew 20:16)
How terrible is that you don't care distorting God's character just so you can feel “special”, better than others, chosen!
“ *For the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things.* ”
(Jeremiah 17:9).
