As usual, you had my interest from start till end. Also like how you touch on the fact that you’ll always have the apartheid legacy features of any town (urban or rural) in SA. The fact that people are building and also taking up space where before they might have been harassed or even pushed off the prime sea-view land is progress. Beautiful place…when are you visiting EC?
I am thinking of doing EC in March. Yes, people are taking space. We need to also ensure that we grow our businesses and not just build family homes. These are great opportunities at an affordable cost. 🙏🏾❤️
@@VelileLifestyleDecorTV absolutely agree that building residential homes is a first crucial step to cement one self and take up space in their ancestral lands but people also need to strategically procure land to develop their businesses in these villages so rural business nodes are mostly run and owned by Black SAns and not left to Pakistanis and Bangladeshis to run most of the businesses there because there’s leverage that Black SAns have that outsiders just can’t have (and rightly so) in rural towns and villages…one being land ownership that can only go to them and everyone else can lease or rent from them. Ppl need to start moving strategically in SA rural towns& villages. They are the next frontier and we already have what I’d call quite developed rural towns and villages, hence why outsiders don’t find it difficult to relocate to here and skip our urban towns and cities altogether…rural towns are the gold mines and this government be moving like they are blind idiots sometimes. I’m thankful that with tribal laws& tight leadership, so much is protected though and makes up for this government’s lack of vision for rural economic development. My maternal grand parents are involved in rural development and they’ve always said there’s so much money and opportunity in rural SA, way more than urban cities which are over-run by global concerns and SA conglomerates
@@thandisilec835 Information overload :) Either way, Message and plans activated. Your passion is appreciated in these You-tube streets. Take care Sis...!!
@@thandisilec835 A+ observation. One can only hope that the municipal managers see the potential of revenue generation. Sewerage, Water, Roads = Rates + Taxes... We are willing to pay if these services can be rendered and reliable.
Its refreshing to hear such a sincere narrator marketing an area. She emphasizes the positive aspects, but doesn't shy away from the negative ones too. She mentions the Tugela river. It is highly polluted which is explains why its not safe to swim in the sea. This area can only work with investment by something some in the ruling government regard as a swear word: Private sector investment. This includes infrastructure, upgrading sewarage and all the non sexy stuff. The people living close to the Tugela river must be included in any upgrade project. Some might need to be relocated away from flood plains close to the Tugela river. A complex area with potential.
The private sector’s involvement would actually be detrimental to the villagers, unless they chose to integrate them into their developments and keep things affordable for everyone. We know that this never happens. The private sector would see the villagers as a hindrance to business and want out or hidden away, not appearing in front of tourists except as servers.
