@@haridas78 there’s soooo many Indian international students in Canada over the past few years, it definitely makes sense. Go to any medium or large Canadian city and you’ll notice how much the demographics have changed.
I flew this route a couple weeks ago, although I made a booking just to go to London. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that my gate said Delhi and not London
AC’s first India service was back in the late 80s using an L1011 flying YYZ-LHR-BOM and onward to SIN. Ultimately BOM-SIN was ended and varying on and off service since has been to DEL via LHR on 747s and in this century on 777s and 787s.
I don't care who flies there, how many segments or what the cost is. You couldn't pay me to go to India again. Bald & Bankrupt's latest report from India hit the nail on the head.
@AbdullahNajib-b9z I love Boeing, they have some of the best planes, but I hate this anti airbus bias caused by people like you just because you can't stop coping that Boeing is on fire right now! I might love boeing due to their planes but I absolutely hate the money hungry murders that control it
On arrival in Heathrow - what happens? Do you get off the plane, lounge in a seat less comortable than the plane seat, then get back aboard in the same seat? Can you leave hand luggage on the seat?
Some correction. The YYZ-BOM non-stop service is starting on 6th Dec and not on 1st Dec. Also on return BOM-YYZ there will be technical haul at FRA. Also, this route will be completed with Boing 787-9 and not 777-200 until Feb 2025.
This only makes sense because the Russian airspace is closed for Western airlines. The direct YYC-DEL is 460 nautical miles shorter, but it crosses Russia. Non-stop flights into North America by Indian or Chinese airlines should be banned: they're allowed to fly over Russia, saving thousands of dollars.
This is less to do with Russian airspace and more to do with the runway length and altitude in Calgary. The 787 can’t fly all the way with the weight restriction imposed these factors.
Canada chooses to sanction Russia. Why ban Indian and Chinese airliners because of YOUR choice? Choice has consequence. Or you call this unfair play because Canada is more DemOCraTic 😅 than India and China. Go woke go broke dude
@@JayJayAviation That's not correct: Even if YYC were at zero altitude, a direct great-circle flight to DEL is impossible. You have to re-route through Northern Europe (LHR) or Eastern Asia (HND or ICN) to avoid Russian airspace. LHR seems to be the right choice.
@@wickedpawn5437 while it’s true that a direct flight can’t be done due to Russian airspace restrictions, it’s not the primary reason for the stop in LHR. The stop in LHR would have to happen whether or not Russian airspace was available. The 787 still wouldn’t be able to reach DEL direct due to YYC’s altitude.
Instead of going through the hassle of London Heathrow, a better option is to fly to Vancouver and fly Air India direct from Vancouver to Delhi. Vancouver hardly sees any weather related disruptions year round.
Do Indians who come here have their work visas sponsored or handled by their potential Canadian employer? I've seen Indian truck drivers who are abused by their indocanadian employers multiple times.
@@juliogonzo2718 The rules are currently being changed and yes abuse of employees is rampant here under both the Temporary Worker programs and the conventional immigration paths. So sad!
Considering the current relationship between Indian and Canadian governments its a surprise
That was my first thought when I was watching the video.
Haven't you seen how many Indians, especially international students are in Canada now? Its honestly not surprising in the least...
In my 34 year life the makeup of nationalities in Canada has noticeably changed. Not saying it’s good or bad just Air Canada knows the market.

1.2 million Indian nationals have their temporary Canadian residency visas set to expire next year. So lots of CA to India traffic expected.

Not shocking considering the huge South Asian community in Alberta which includes the mayors of both Edmonton and Calgary.

Loved the video. Another way Air Canada is spreading the flag 🎉

Thanks for pronouncing Calgary correctly!
Is there more than one way to pronounce Calgary?
@@johnarnold893there’s “cal-gary” then there’s “calgry” the later being how locals and more Canadians in general pronounce it
