@@AmariLeone I'm your subscriber when you did reaction BTS the first time. And I remembered you wearing Japanese anime t-shirt. 👍😍 I'm Japanese J-ARMY for 9 years. Sorry my English is not good because 66 years old lady and living in USA. 😢 love you 💜
Jimin is being very raw and honest in this song and I love the references to the dreams of going to a club and being intimate in a group in the choreography. The sad part is that it can't be more than a dream, since Jimins life is limited by fans and expectations. He talked about how difficult it was for him to dance in a room full of people he didn't know but an actor helped him out. The girl is probably a reflection of himself, as the stage choreography emphasizes, and the mud a symbol of being stuck. But Jimin also said that the album reflects real events during the pandemic even if it didn't happen exactly like that. The party can symbolize the dream of being on stage, happy, lost in the lights, and the feeling of loss as he finds himself alone again, drinking.
♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even samples excerpts from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it might help others who could relate, who are going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as wel as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe that was what all the dirty grimyness also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.
There's a 100% English version of this song which debuted on Jimmy Fallon. The song references a movie by the same name which Jimin liked a lot, and is where the whispered dialog at the beginning and end comes from. Jimin said the theme is about using daydreaming, drinking, etc. to escape from the pain of reality, and it is a reflection of feelings he went thru during the pandemic. 💜
You probably had or will in your own time but in the choreography version of the song the moment when the girl (you asked who she was) appeared Jimin also danced with a girl in a mirrored way and the song immediately jumped to talking about Jiminy's reflection so a lot of people have theory of the girl being Jimin's persona, his reflection, another side of him etc which make sense, duality being a theme that he explored before!
Oui c'est ce que je comprends moi aussi , c'est sa part féminine je pense et ça le reflète bien , il est les 2 , d'alleuir j'ai vu un réacteur qui au moment où il a vu la fille a dit tout de suite " mais c'est jimin , non ?
Atmospheric, that is what I call this song. I feel like all the darkness in this song is the longing and uncertainty of wanting someone you don't have yet. but it's also hopeful.
I love hearing what you have to say, Amari. There's no right interpretation of a MV. Armys usually come to a consensus about the meaning of certain things, but the great thing about music and stories is that they are open to interpretation. And your interpretation comes from your own personal experience. There's never anything wrong with that, and it makes my experience of the MV that much richer hearing what associations you make with it. BTS songs mean something to me that they may or may not mean to anyone else. Good job! You nice, keep going. 💜
Jimin mentioned that this album explores what he was feeling during the pandemic (feelings he says he's thankfully moved on from), and I definitely got that vibe in this song and MV. It's got that sense of a club song but to numb pain and other complicated feelings. He wants to stay lost in a dream even if it's probably bad for him. I like the relatable darker layers like you mentioned, but at the same time I love how you can just casually listen to it in a lighter way too lol. And Jimin sounds so good! Hope you check out the rest of the album, including the really nice hidden track (on the CD only but people have uploaded in on TH-cam) - it's acoustic and has some sweet sweet vocals :)
I love your sense of humor ...and the way you try and explain the jokes even thou it's pretty easy to understand. It's amazing 😂😂 You reactions are so fun to watch !!
Thank you I appreciate that! & yeah I try to explain the jokes just so as many people as possible can follow along. I don't want to assume anyone gets it & then is left behind on this whacky journey lol
So, as Abbie says in the comment below, it is based on the movie Like Crazy. It's a highly romantic, realistic look at love. Makes me sad because it was Anton Yelchin. You're a nerd, so you will know. 😢 Lovers get torn apart by outside circumstances, and even though they love each other madly, they aren't together. This totally reminds me of the music I listened to in the 80s. And I love your take on the infrared being a sign of intoxication (substance, alcohol, love) The idea that even if it is toxic love or even toxic self love, that you don't want it to end, and you just want one more taste. Whether it's healthy or not. I found the choreography for this dance (Jimmy Fallon performance) to be even more intriguing. He has a solo dance with a girl!!!!!! And the dancers actually touch him. It is so mood invoking. I do drink, and in my youth, I had nights where I drank too much. That scene where he looks in the mirror and slides down to the floor is so spot on. Intoxication of any kind, be it love or substances, often leaves you not recognizing yourself and doing sometimes questionable things. I felt like the laser light that shone on him in parts is like him getting intoxicated. So interesting that he is standing on a couple kissing while they are in the red. Anyway, thanks again for your wonderful reaction. I love it. 😘💜🫰🏻
The dialogue at the beginning is not a sample. It's a movie reference but he hired voice actors to recreate (or remake) the dialogue instead of just using the movie.
I saw several explanations here but I just saw a full JIMIN hour-long video. They said that after BTS announced their hiatus, Jimin lost it a little bit. ---- It's long, I warn you... LOL Jimin was always a perfectionist, since their debut, always thought he wasn't good enough, not singing well enough, not dancing well enough, crying backstage cause he was out of tune twice in the whole concert because of a sore throat, and still mad at himself (and if I haven't heard and saw him say that with my own 2 ears in the video, I never would have believed that Freaking Perfect, Talented JIMIN, of all people, would say that he's not good enough), and he got lost in himself, in his loneliness, from the group, the shows, hectic schedule, ARMY. He got really depressed, drank a lot (that's why the party, all the alcohol and almost hallucinating state there), and then RM (Or Suga, I think RM), suggested that he should write about it for his solo debut and let go of everything that's going on within him and in his mind, cause it also added to his lack of productive work, creativity and everything else that he's been going through in the last couple years (Covid. If not the beginning), cause he never fully shared\let go when it came to sharing his feelings with ARMY, he didn't want people to think less of him, cause he already thought like that himself many times, so a lot of the songs in this album are related to his feelings somehow (don't know if all of them, but some at least), to as a group BTS, to ARMY. Letting go of what's going on in his own mind. he's lost in the lights, he's out of his mind...saying it a lot in the video... I think they said it took him about 10 months... He was also afraid cause he was working on it mostly alone, without his members, and because he never wrote about his true feelings, never shared his pain like that. He worked so hard on this album, practicing 16 hours a day and other sh!t... I feel like I'm sharing someone's deepest secrets right now cause It's so personal, but he said those things himself through the years, in not too many words, mostly talks with RM or ARMY Lives, and it's documented, on their channel, in his Lives... It made me feel really sad...I'm pretty new to BTS, 10 years is a lot to learn, so I didn't know that he felt like that. He Came in as a modern dance ANGEL to debut in a hip-hop-themed group, with no background in singing or street dance, so he had a really really hard time, and apparently this never left him. Of course, It's not his constant state of mind, he's a happy optimistic person. but he is very hard on himself.
I'm still processing the entire meaning of the song and video but since no one commented this I'll fill you in. at 13:46 there's photos of men on his pants and one man is Robert Mapplethorpe which he's known for being very revolutionary in photography especially queer representation jimins been playing a lot with identity and queer coded visuals lately even for his photo folio concept which he included masculine and feminine visuals inspired by Mapplethorpes self portrait photographs from 1980 yeah again don't know how to tie it into the overall meaning of the song but it's very interesting to say the least. many lgbtq+ armys feel connected to this song and visuals. I'm not good at explaining so look at jimipurr and sapphickoo's tweets about it if you're curious :)

okay the kitchen had mud on the floor, right?.......the muddy hand that grabbed his wrist had a black leather jacket on so did the girl that was walking through the club which she was walking through the club on the opposite side of the club the same exact way as Jimin. The girl, the muddy hand then he faces the girl after he is drunk in the middle of the club......it's Jimin having to "face" his other side himself............at the end, jimin is the one with the mud on his hand...get it now?....hope u do, love you bro🤘
I personally less enjoyed this song. Less of a banger than the other one. I get it's not the same vibe, I respect the artistic proposition here but it's lacking a richer instrumental or interesting melody. As this 80th synth type of song is already over played (reminded me as well of the weekend, Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus also), I expected some differentiater (that's not a word) element that will make this song pop compared to others of the same type. I don't know if I'm clear, anyway 😅 But yeah it's a good direction for Jimin and he's exploring different genres. Good for him. Will you react to the whole album or not ? And to the Jimmy Fallon performance (it won't get blocked, many reactors already did it), there is an interesting thing happening there 😅? Thank you.
I get what you're saying. For me that differentiator is Jimin's vocals. He doesn't sound exactly like any of the artists doing this style so it gave a bit of freshness for me. I too am mostly tired of this retro pop wave as EVERYONE is seemingly doing it but I think Jimin in particular did it well.
How dare Jimin be a walking hit machine like this! Save some good music for the rest of us jeez! 🦁
