I just came across this video this morning as I was eating my breakfast. I spent 30+ years serving my country, including 3 “official” combat tours and countless other special operations in jungles, deserts, and various other climes and conditions. Not to mention spending an average 200 days a year away from my family. I have seen things no one should ever have to see. Things which keep me awake at night, or when I do sleep, awaken in a cold sweat, shaking with anger from the inhumanity of what another human being can do to another human being. I have done things my government asked me to do-all within the laws of war and combat, of course-that few men and women, other than those who have had to do the same, will ever understand, let alone experience firsthand or, as they say, up close and personal, all to preserve and protect our fragile, but precious freedoms and liberty we still enjoy. But even though the vast majority of people will never comprehend the savagery of combat, and the brutality that must go along with it, I never wavered in my faith and allegiance to the ideals that make our country, the USA, the greatest country in the world. And in my darkest moments, when I thought my time had come, and even now with a disabled, broken body, I am thankful for all I have been given by a gracious and merciful God. I am alive. I am still here. I literally thank God every day for my ever-supportive wife and children who have continued to love and support me thru this daily trial. Thank you for this incredibly moving arrangement of an already beautiful song. Your pure voices, the videography, and the music brought me a moment of peace to my soul and gave me hope for a better future for my children and soon to be grandchild. Please continue to do what you do. Never waver from your mission and continue to remain true to your convictions. You two are special. Your Heavenly Father, the Father of us all, has given you both a special talent. A talent to bring light to an ever-darkening world. Once again, thank you!
Thank you for the service you have given to those of us who appreciate the freedom you have preserved for us. I have not been in the service for our country but I know something of the struggles many people go through just to get through another day. May God bless you and keep you, may his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. God bless you for many blessings and may you come to know the Father’s love more intimately this season. 🙏❤️🫂🔥🙋♀️
The 75 year old Vietnam veteran that I have been married to for 54 years had big tears running down his cheeks during this video. Thank you so much for sharing this!
I lost my dad in July. He was 84 years old and had led a remarkable life. He served our country for 32 years. I was always proud of him and never hesitated to tell people about all the years he served. This is my first Christmas without him, so I miss him more right now. I know he is one of God's soldiers now and he is watching over his family.
I know this is for our vets, but when it came out, I was in the middle of a deep mental depression. I played it over and over keeping my eyes towards heaven. He kept me safe and believing angels were surrounding me as I moved forward through mental darkness. I'm good now but wanted you to know how much this song helped me.
This is a beautiful tribute to the American soldiers who have sacrificed much for our people. We must not forget that the Afghanis who fought side-by-side with our soldiers now need an Army of Angels to protect them from the harsh conditions in Afghanistan and from being hunted by the Taliban. They need an Army of Angels.
It's amazing how often we forget about the men protecting us every day. We get together and celebrate holidays with our families but many of these men are missing theirs to protect ours. And those families missing their loved one overseas. We are truly lucky to live in the greatest country on earth and have the great men giving up their lives for us. It is truly humbling.
What a beautiful, heartfelt tribute for all those servicemen and women who so selflessly "go into battle" to protect us and our nations' freedom! Thank you for your service, Mat! Very well produced video - the singing, musical arrangement, scenery and the photos. That harmonising in the last bars was fantastic. Love and gratitude from a fan in Sydney. 💕💕
I can't help the tears streaming down. This is such a beautiful and heartfelt tribute Mat and Savanna Shaw dedicate to all Servicemen and Women of the United States of America!!! 🇺🇲 🙏❤️
The first time I heard this song sung by Mat and Savanna, I was sitting in my car in the hospital parking lot. My husband had just been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. The diagnosis had come out of the blue because he had always been very healthy and the future was uncertain. It became my prayer and over the following weeks, I would listen to it on repeat. Thank you Mat and Savanna for the courage this song helped bring to me.
Thanks guys. I am a US Army veteran. All my active duty was in Vietnam. All of us who managed to come home from that terrible war are getting old. Most of us are in out 70's. Fifty years ago today I was in Vietnam. Hard to believe it is that long ago. Thanks for the song.
Yes Dear Hevenly Father thank you for your army of angels and all of our men and woman in uniform giving up all for us thank you troops God bless you all 🎗🇱🇷
I have loved all your music but this hit me harder than all the rest. Even though I have had this track since the album came out these images are just perfect. I was not just tearing up but crying. 😭 In my adult years I have realized how much I took things for granted and the flag represents so much more to me. I do pray that God can keep us safe and help us all come together before we lose what we fought so hard for. Love love love this! Thank you!! ❤️🤍💙❤️💙🤍❤️💙🤍❤️🤍❤️🤍💙
Thank you Nina ❤️. Reading your message made me well up with emotion. May God bless America, and may we never forget the sacrifices that were made (and that we must continue to make) for our freedom.
Thank you for this beautiful prayer. I admit to having wept all the way through it, because I lost my beloved husband last year to three concurrent kinds of cancer, each caused by Agent Orange, in the Vietnam War. He was truly God’s gift to me and to everyone who knew him, and I miss him every second of every day and pray for others who are serving and who have also lost their precious loved ones. God bless you, Mat and Savanna, for sharing your beautiful voices and for inspiring your many listeners.
What a stunning tribute to our veterans! This one touches the heart. The added pictures of our soldiers and their families added so much. Thank you to all the folks in uniform who also help to keep us safe! 💕
I served 9 years Army aviation, this song just touched my heart, you never fail to amaze me with your glorious songs. God bless your family and friends.
Mat and Savanna--I can't even express the deep emotions this song brought forth. I sent it to my son in the military. I didn't stop there. I played your video for my students and later, it was the culminating song for a lesson on pioneers. Last night as I was watching the MV again, I finally noticed the picture of Mat in army combat uniform holding Savanna, and I wept again. Thanks for serving our country Mat, for giving this song such emotion through your voice, and to you Savanna, for your angelic voice, that makes me hope that in the next life I can sing like that!
OMG I am a Gold Star Mother....I lost my son in Iraq in Sept 2005.....I was so moved by this song and video I can't even express the emotions I felt....God Bless American and keep our men and women who serve safe
Well Mat and Savanna, I just replayed The Prayer again after listening to it many times along with most all of your others. This is what got it started for me. I recently watched this one showing you returning from your military service and greeting your young child. It made me think of my returning from Vietnam and seeing my wife and my little 18 month old boy. That little boy is now 51 years old and recently got diagnosed with an aggressive form of als giving him six to 18 months to live. Listening to your music gives peace, so replaying The Prayer today and watching your homecoming one was an emotional journey for me but a comforting one. Thank you.
Bob, This song also touched me greatly. I could listen to it a million times. Thank you for your service and my heart feels for your son. My father served in the Vietnam War. He also was diagnosed with ALS…going through this with all my family strengthened us and we found peace. You will, too.
Well...I'm in tears...that was stunning and heartfelt. Both my parents were Air Force, SMSgt Eldred M. Jenkins, and A2C Alice (Lathrop) Jenkins. What an amazing childhood I had growing up! ❣️🇺🇲 I so miss them both.
Beautiful! So pleased to share. Can't say enough... thank you to all our Veterans, those are serving and to the special individual who will serve in the future. We are grateful for our Freedom!
You know, today My Country Poland celebrates its 122nd birthday after 125 years of captivity. And today our soldiers, policemen, territorial troops and firefighters stand alone on the eastern border of Poland and the European Union. Our freedom is at stake again. Thank you for this beautifully sung TRUTH.✌😔
Tears, tears and tears… So beautiful… Please God hear my prayer… I pray for the soldiers, their families and for America.. Please God keep us safe… Let every soldier feel the loved and appreciated… Please God helps us to always look to you for our strength and courage… Please God protect our soldiers and American from harm from without and from within… God we know if we would all turn our faces to you then You will be our guide to heal this nation… We love you Lord and we appreciate all you do for us. Thank you also for sharing Mat and Savanna to sing to our souls… We sure do need them now… Amen…✨✝️✨
Our Air Force son has been deployed to three different foreign lands and is about to be deployed a fourth time. I am deeply moved by how appropriate this prayer song is at this point in time. Thank you
Thanks to my dad Albert who was a disabled Veteran. I miss you dad so much. I can't believe you have been gone for 18 years. Thank you for surviving D-Day. Miss you.
Such a beautiful song. Brought happy tears to my eyes with the beautiful words and the photos/videos of those who help keep our country free. Thank you so much for sharing your God given talents.
This has to easily be my most favorite songs you both sing so beautifully! God bless us as we go further into the days of uncertainty, fear, etc. This world truly needs God our Father so very much! Praying without ceasing is all my heart knows and all I feel I can do!
Thank you for remembering those who have worn the uniform. Yes, the tears flowed as the memories flowed of my 22 years in the Air Force uniform. The flag of the United States of America was perfect as it is an inspiration to us all. What a beautiful song and location. God bless you!
This 26 year Veteran of the U .S. ARMY says thank you for a very touching video to honor all the Veterans past and present very well done we recognize them once a year but there service and sacrifice deserve recognition all year long
This truly is a BEAUTIFUL song... but I can't help but think that it isn't just a song applicable for service people. To me it seems like a song that every mom or dad might sing over each of their children daily ~ realizing that ultimately it is only because God is watching over us constantly that we are kept safe. God bless you both!
Cannot say enough how much I LOVE this one! My dad is a veteran and three uncles as well as friends and neighbors, so I have always honored and respected all those that serve. Thank you Mat for your service as well. Let's all remember, the whole family serves, just in different roles. 🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤
Thank you Matt fir your service. I listened to this on Veterans day and cried. My husband served in Vietnam and it was hard, but he’d do it again in a heartbeat. God Bless America. Thank you to all you Veterans and wives and families.. 🎈🎈
Thank you Matt and Savanah for all the beautiful songs you have done for us it's brought so much joy throughout all the hard times we have all been through the last couple years. Sickness division of our country and everything in between has put a toll on us. Music is something that has brought people together for generations. So please don't stop sharing your God's gifts to us 🙏 when people have voices like you both do it's such a shame when others can't hear it. I'm so glad you posted your first song and it went rampid the whole wide world shared it to everyone they knew it got on the news stations and talk shows and that's where it started now look where you are several records made and millions of followers I'm so thrilled for you. But most of all you are Christians who have hearts of gold. You were so kind to leave me a comment a couple times and helped me with getting one of your CD's from a kind follower I wouldn't of ever been able to afford to buy one. I wish one day I could have them all but I'm just thrilled to be able to listen to it over and over again when I want. It's such a blessing to just have it. God bless both of you ❤ please make some Christmas songs for us this year too. Even if it's the same songs you have done before. Just sing them in your living room we don't care just as long as we can hear them that's all that we care about. Thanks again for all you do for us. ❤❤😊
Brenda thank you so much for this kind and loving comment! We are so grateful to have you listening to our music! We have a lot of new Christmas music we have released the last few weeks and more coming out every week until Christmas! Hopefully you are able to hear them all! ❤️
Only God would put these beautiful voices to sing this song for His brave soldiers on this majestic mountain. I Thank you Matt and Savanna. It was an honor to watch and listen. 🙏❤️🇺🇸❤️🙏
Thanks. That was really special. My husband is deployed right now so my mind is extra with all those at home who wait and live without those who serve our country.
Thank you for your service Mat! My grandpa was in the Army during WWII, & worked in General George Patton's office. My dad & uncle served in the Navy during Vietnam.
Your harmonies are "out of this world!" A splendid blessing to those who sacrifice so much and an important prayer for all of us to remember to offer up to God!
Perfect song for Veterans Day and Rememberance Day in Australia. We will always remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their countries. If these souls could hear u sing this song, they would b so proud that ur honouring them like this. Lest we forget 🌹🙏💂♂️
Mat and Savanna, I posted a year ago about our son Kyle Brown who had als. He helped coached the bike team at your daughters high school in Kaysville. I don't think you have seen any of my comments and don't know how to reach you. But I mentioned in a couple previous posts how much two of your songs touched me and helped me out during the past year. Unfortunately he just passed away so hopefully someone will pass this message on to you to let you know the comfort those two songs have been to me.
With gratefulness we celebrate the bravest people I know! Love and with a thankful heart, bless our veterans and their families! What a moving tribute, your voices always touch me !
I am so excited and can hardly wait to see what you have created to honor our veterans. When l was in grade school every year we would sing all the veterans songs and then they would come into our classrooms and we would be able to hear their stories and ask questions. They even landed a military helicopter in our field and we were able to explore all the military vehicles. I will always have those special memories. It has made such an impact on me that whenever l see a veteran l thank them for their service.
Mat & Savanna, I appreciated the spiritual location & like you I felt the closeness to God. You sounded like his angels... a beautiful heartfelt tribute to our veterans.
Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute to all of out veterans and current military. My father was a WWII navigator in a B17. They were so young when they went to war. My dad enlisted when he was still in high school. He would have loved this song. I went to the cemetery and played this to him a few times, I know he loved it. ❤️🤍💙
Thank you for such a beautiful story song dedicated to all who are serving or have served our Nation. God bless America. God bless you & your family. 🙏🇺🇸🦅✝️💜🙏
Amen, how appropriate for these days! This is going to be my new theme song for everything that we as people (and as a country are facing). God is still the great I Am not the I Was! He is still the God of miracles and He who answers prayers! May He bless you richly! Keep up the inspirational music!
I am married to a USA military veteran, and he was deployed long before the time of digital messaging and video chats, we only had written letters and rare phone calls, but when I saw that scene of the family talking to their loved one while away it did make me cry! Its so hard when they are away in combat situations. That location was amazing. It shows the beauty of Gods creation Thank you so much for this heart felt tribute and for putting it together in such a panoramic way. the way you sing together and smile at each other is so lovely. You are touching the whole world with these video's and bringing light in a time of great darkness. I need an army of angels right now myself. ❤💕😘Love from Australia.
🦅🇺🇸 Communication for families is SO critical ! I always support the USO because they provide that service. Among many other services. Blessings from California. 🌻
✌✌💖💝🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏🌍🌏🌏 I pray daily for World Peace!! FIRST, Thank you Matt for your service to Our Country protecting & keeping us Safe. I also thank your wife & family as they make ❤ 💖 sacrifices as well while you are serving!! Thank you 😊 for sharing your pictures of you during your service time 😊 ❤. My family is a family of service from the Spanish/American to present. My Dad was injured during WWII on his ship & my brother in Vietnam. My husband retired with 42yrs in and now my grandson is in JROTC. I would love to hear we are just All peacemakers But reality is that Wars have been around thousands of years & will be for many years to come. This was truly an amazing 👏 song 🎵 ❤ for honoring ALL that have served!! This shows how much pride & thought went into putting this together including the welcoming home by so many! I couldn't imagine how you could have ever made the end any more spectacular with you ❤ 💖 ♥ standing next to the flag blowing just right as the sun set!!!! Thank you 😊 💓 again.
Oh what a beautiful tribute this Veterans Day! All I could think about listening and watching this was my Grandmother and Grandfather sending all 3 of their sons off to WWII. My Daddy and my 2 Uncles. One of my Uncles was a POW. I can't imagine all the prayers they said as their boys were away. My Uncle Rex was returned home alive. Thank you Lord. Now I know of many more who have served and God has kept them safe and brought them home. Thank you Mat, Savannah and the team that produced this beautiful video. Amazing voices, as always! Love, hugs and prayers from a Kansas Grandma ❤️
Such a beautiful song! Thank you so much for your service! My dad is a Vietnam veteran. I loved the clip of the soldiers being welcomed home. Vietnam veterans like my dad never got that welcome. They had to change our of their uniforms and hope nobody would think they were soldiers. One figured my dad was a returning soldier outside of the airport and spit at his feet. So for all Vietnam veterans I would like to say thank you and welcome home. You ARE heros and yoy deserve every honor. Never feel shamed at heeding the call of duty, even if drafted like my Dad.
Thank you so much for honoring us Vets. I was out shopping this morning and had my ships hat on a no one said a word to me about serving. God Bless and Thank you again.
Beautiful. As the wife of an Air Force Veteran, and the mother of a Marine combat Veteran, Thank You to them for serving, and to you both for this tribute.
My husband was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and loved every minute of saving his country. He died 2 1/2 years ago I’m Alzheimer’s but if he could’ve been here to listen to this fantastic beautiful song with me I know tears would have come down his face like they did mine. You guys are amazing ❣️❣️

The 75 year old Vietnam veteran that I have been married to for 54 years had big tears running down his cheeks during this video. Thank you so much for sharing this!
Robyn that means so much to us! Thank you for sharing!
I sat with my 76 year old Vietnam also with tears running down his cheeks

I love your comment! My veteran husband (still active duty) and I have been married for 17 years.

Yup I cried. God bless America and all those who protect her! 🇺🇸

A beautiful tribute. This 11th November I pray for peaceful co-existence. As always a flawless performance.
Beautiful tribute on this special day! Thank you!

I'm not weeping. You're weeping. I'm weeping.
A much needed song in these unsettling times. Jesus please protect us from evil doers.

God bless you both!
Cannot say enough how much I LOVE this one! My dad is a veteran and three uncles as well as friends and neighbors, so I have always honored and respected all those that serve. Thank you Mat for your service as well. Let's all remember, the whole family serves, just in different roles. 🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤
This is so heartfelt…I really can’t think of words to do it justice. Thank you Matt and Savanna and thank you to our wonderful serviceman and women.
Thank you Matt fir your service. I listened to this on Veterans day and cried. My husband served in Vietnam and it was hard, but he’d do it again in a heartbeat. God Bless America. Thank you to all you Veterans and wives and families.. 🎈🎈
Thanks Matt and Savannah for this beautiful song. It touched this old Vietnam Vet's heart deeply.

Thanks. That was really special. My husband is deployed right now so my mind is extra with all those at home who wait and live without those who serve our country.
My husband is an Australian Vietnam Vet and this is so beautiful and meaningful, not many understand though so thank you for this

Congratulations Mat, for Veterans Day and for your daughter, God bless you and your family.
Sorry for your loss. He was greeted by an army of angels.
Army Vet and now emotional man. As always, thank you and God Bless!
With gratefulness we celebrate the bravest people I know! Love and with a thankful heart, bless our veterans and their families! What a moving tribute, your voices always touch me !
God, keep us safe. God keeps us safe.
Beautiful! God bless our servicemen and women! Lord, Protect our military, their families and this Republic ✝️🙏🇺🇸
So beautiful. What a lovely tribute to our service men & women. You guys are amazing!
Thank you to all those who have and are serving our country. You are missed Dad and my Duane.
Mat & Savanna, I appreciated the spiritual location & like you I felt the closeness to God. You sounded like his angels... a beautiful heartfelt tribute to our veterans.
Mat to you and all that serve or who have served to keep us safe, thank you. Thank you for your service and sacrifices.
Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute to all of out veterans and current military. My father was a WWII navigator in a B17. They were so young when they went to war. My dad enlisted when he was still in high school. He would have loved this song. I went to the cemetery and played this to him a few times, I know he loved it. ❤️🤍💙
All the thanks to all the veterans that keep this country safe, God bless them and you two as well beautiful!
Beautiful song, such a deep meaning to keep faith.
Thank you for such a beautiful story song dedicated to all who are serving or have served our Nation. God bless America. God bless you & your family. 🙏🇺🇸🦅✝️💜🙏
Thank you Krystal for watching and supporting our music!
God bless and thank you for your service Mat. My brother was an Army veteran. He was my hero
Oh my gosh! TBH i did not know Mat was in the army! Thank you for your service! This is such a touching song. Love the backgrounds!
That song was absolutely gorgeous. You both have fabulous voices and your songs touch our hearts deeply. Thank you for all you do. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Matt & Savanna. God Bless you all in Love.
Amen, how appropriate for these days! This is going to be my new theme song for everything that we as people (and as a country are facing). God is still the great I Am not the I Was! He is still the God of miracles and He who answers prayers!
May He bless you richly!
Keep up the inspirational music!
Thank you so much both of you!
I would love to hear we are just All peacemakers
But reality is that Wars have been around thousands of years & will be for many years to come.
Well, I’m crying now. How absolutely beautiful, and so meaningful. Thank you for sharing this song with us.
The Flag is shredding, time to replace flag.... Great work. MJ
I would not volunteer for that job !! Too scary. Blessings from California. 🇺🇸🦅
Beautiful. As the wife of an Air Force Veteran, and the mother of a Marine combat Veteran, Thank You to them for serving, and to you both for this tribute.
Amen 🙏🏻 God Bless all of the Veterans!
My Favorite Song, Sung By Truly Great Singers...Love You Two Like You'll Never Know!!!
I help out the disable veterans and thank you for fighting for us and it great song
Thank you for the work you are doing too Michael!
