- An impressive flag-lowering ceremony was held at Wagah Border in Lahore to mark Independence Day
People from all walks of life visited the Wagah border to attend the ceremony and express love and patriotism with their motherland.
just love how the sworn enemies, shake hands at the end. A great lesson to humanity and humility

I always thought this ceremony was about pride and nationalism and hatred between the two...
Watching it, it's the heroes of each country giving an homage to each other. "You fought well, may we meet again". And the synchronicity of their steps reminds everyone that aside from religion, not much separates Pakistan from India. With balance and wearing the same uniform (color aside), with having nuclear weapons on both sides, if both sides keep proving their strengths, then war may be avoidable.
It's a terrible version of finding peace... but it's (mostly) peace nonetheless.

When India gained its independence from Britain it was devided into 3 nations because that’s what the people wanted due to cultural and religious reasons ,if after 1947 they decided that they were wrong they could have quite easily regrouped into one nation and India would again be one but no they would sooner argue,bicker and blame Britain for all the mistakes they’ve made instead of just getting around a table and talking
