I have an external 3D blu-ray player for the laptop however the laptop monitor doesn't permit 3D unless I select anaglyph setting from my software. Would I be able to view the 3D movies using the Quest 2?
Skybox hands down. It's not so much the the lack of high resolution, but the experience. In the real theatre, depth in a 3D movie changes according to what seat you are sitting on. This doesn't happen in VR.
Its like having a Nintendo Switch Lite instead of a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. Your games are enjoyable but are not the same technical masterpieces the tethered PC VR headset games are. Its convenience over quality.
The kids of today and their interests will dominate the media, entertainment sector soon. They will want all things vr, ar. This means massive innovation of these platforms, so much that we likely have no idea how far it will go. It will be awesome.
I mean it won't ever fill your whole view. It would have black around it because your view is a sphere basically and the screen is a rectangle...unless you forced a 360 mode and the movie would be massively stretched and warped around you. Buy you can watch without an environment in several apps.
Absolutely it is better to watch media (movies, etc.) in VR on an Oculus Go or Oculus Quest headset than on a tv. Any tv! For you are right, it is the EXPERIENCE of watching movies on a movie theater sized screen-in 3d!-as opposed to watching on a tv. And let's not forget the PHENOMENAL Oculus surround sound-no sound bar necessary! NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. Well, unless you are willing-and able-to spend $60,000.00 on a 98" 4k tv. Good luck with that. And remember, these are PROTOTYPE Oculus VR headsets! They WILL get better. Especially given their POPULARITY- Oculus VR headset are selling out NATIONWIDE!!!
Blurry, grainy pictures on the go. With a similar up to 72 fps, the quest wont compare with 65 inch 4K oled and my Bose home theater speaker system with several subwoofers, lazer directed spatial sound. No headphones on a vr headset will ever compare, and wearing the headset becomes sweaty and uncomfortable after a while. That will weigh more with a battery, otherwise any movie over a few hours will run out.

Now, imagine that same video if it were a smaller rectangle in the middle with a movie theater set all around it including in front of you. I basically want the entire screen to be the movie I am watching...nothing up down left or right of me but movie. The way you are describing, I just do not feel like it is a big screen...more like if I held my phone six inches from my eyes and watched a movie there and also saw all the stuff around me (bed, window, etc. on the screen edges. Does this make sense?
@@Bungle2010 I know what you are saying, but when I watch, it feels more like I am watching a 65 inch tv sitting six feet away rather than in a theater watching a 75 foot screen. VR games are convincing because I feel the scale more convincingly, but I don't et that with the movie theater VR apps. If you are familiar, I have used Skybox to watch, and I don't get the effect. Is there a better application that makes it as convincing as a VR game looks in terms of scale?
was hoping for something on sound. its the one thing that stops me watching on skybox.
how can I watch Netflix when im laying in my bed? I only see the ceeling, can I tilt the netflix screen so that I can watch it laying down?
Inge buchwald lol that sucks
Inge buchwald u can watch it in the other room. There should be a button
Switch to the mode where the screen always floats in front of your face. You won't be in the virtual living room but it will work.
Only just got a quest and found you can goto Plex web site in the browser and play movies from Plex servers. do you know if i can connect any other Apps to the plex servers
You didn't mention the web browser!!!
is the intro music the chase theme tune

I like being able to watch in a movie theater setting. I hate movie theaters as they are giant Petri dishes of horrible germs, viruses. I can now experience movies in a theater.
I have a USD 150 projector and it works wonders! (1080P) but i reallt want the VR haha can I connect my VR to the projector though? Hdmi?
I got the quest for christmas
Awesome!
Thanks for getting to the point his was really bothering me since I’m getting this sometimes in September
same!
Aye should HMU sometimes because me and my cousin will be watching Pokémon, and other anime movies
Does this has a chance against a normal home cinema? Or does it look like it u put a low res video on a big screen?
Hi. I recently purchased skyboxvr on my quest but to install it on my pc its asking to purchase again. Is this right. Only I have skyboxvr but I cant connect my phone to it even though I have downloaded dlna server on my phone
What do you think will translate with quest2?
do you have to have a p.c. for watching a movies and such on vr and if so what’s a alternative
no you can install movies to quest or stream them from services like netflix
Lol why is his intro the chase theme speeded up
I'm seriously thinking of buying a Quest 2. I have a large library of 3D blu-rays that I usually watch on my large screen tv. I would like to watch them using the laptop and cable...
This doesn't happen in VR.
for some reason all my purchases work on my pc but when I view them on my quest, I get a black screen with sound. anyone else?
Is the quest a good, non-pc vr headset? I’m looking at getting one but I’m not sure.
Cypress best standalone option out there
Buy one I've just got mine and I'm blown away
stuart wright I did already I love it!
Its like having a Nintendo Switch Lite instead of a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. Your games are enjoyable but are not the same technical masterpieces the tethered PC VR headset games are. Its convenience over quality.
It's a pc headset as well as standalone!
Did the same thing on my Oculus go :)
just add eating juice and food never taking off my oculus again.
LittleSlenderMan 321 😂😂
Lmoa
Camera Sama finna eat juice lmao
Kipe347 lol
Hey BMF. Have you tried fandango now app on the quest? Supposedly you can watch new 3D movies via fandango now
The kids of today and their interests will dominate the media, entertainment sector soon. They will want all things vr, ar. This means massive innovation of these platforms, so much that we likely have no idea how far it will go. It will be awesome.
The chase is on
Can movies be watched without the cinema mode? I'm considering buying if it the movie can fill my whole view!
I mean it won't ever fill your whole view. It would have black around it because your view is a sphere basically and the screen is a rectangle...unless you forced a 360 mode and the movie would be massively stretched and warped around you. Buy you can watch without an environment in several apps.
This guy is fucking awesome can we get this guy to 50k!?
Does anyone know how to change the screen position? If I’m lying in bed so the screen would be on the roof
hold the home button on the oculus controller and look where u wanna put the screen-
Absolutely it is better to watch media (movies, etc.) in VR on an Oculus Go or Oculus Quest headset than on a tv.
