    Im a former Roman Catholic then a friend shared the gospel with me and its this.. If you repent and trust in Jesus alone and his death for you, then He will forgive you of every sin you ever committed and then you can live eternally with God in Heaven. Its a free gift God gives (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5 & Hebrews 10:14

    This man needs to write a book and I don’t even know how he could even fit in his views on life but I’d love to read it. If you came across these and loved him for his contributions to music you walk away loving his views towards life. Can’t get enough of listening to him talk on life

      Science is a belief system. Except it is based on provable occurrences and evidence, and not an invisible man in the sky who is watching everything l do, sort of like Santa Claus.
      If your actions and moral codes are based upon what an imaginary dude in the sky is going to reward or punish you with when you die, you need help. Why can't you just be a decent human *all by yourself*, and see what happens?

    I spent time trying to talk to Dennis about JESUS when I did studio drum work at Pumpkin studios.Styx did about 4 or 5 albums there and Dennis did some of his solo work there.I even asked him "Dennis,would you honor me by buying a copy of my first record(holding it up towards him).He was standing at his portable keyboard which he had sitting on the console.Gary,our engineer was at the controls.I said "all the money from the sale of the record goes to the Salvation Army" Dennis goes "Oohh,the salvation army? Don't know about that organization!" Dennis,I've prayed for you.You need JESUS just like every other human(John 3:3/3:36) As you have been accustomed to much privilege in life,your millions $$$ and the rest mean nothing once that last breath is taken.I visited Panozzo's grave in Worth the other day.He'd tell you the same thing if he could.

      Unfortunately DDY doesn't believe in his own lyrics. "100 years from now" or "Show me the way" His human pride still blinds him. Salvation is very clear. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Corinthians 5:21 (kjv) Alice Cooper, Blackie Lawless, Nicko Mcbrain(Iron Maiden) ex Kansas Kerry Livgren, Steve Walsh, Dave Hope, the late Ken Hensley, Tommy Aldridge, all strong believers in the Lord Jesus Christ

    Come on Dennis. I love you man, and you have written some incredible music in your life (Show Me the Way is a great example) but you're better than the answer you gave. If you're a Christian, and still believe what you wrote in 1990, then say so. If not, then say so. Don't skirt around the issue like that, you are better than that.

    If he's a Roman Catholic, he didn't at least provide the church teaching on the question. So he's evidently a Catholic who doesn't believe what his church teaches. I was raised Roman Catholic. No longer. Thankfully, by God's grace, I am saved and a follower of Jesus Christ. There are answers. Is there a God? Yes. Has He created us? Yes. Has He revealed Himself to us? Yes, in His written Word, the Bible. Why do we die? He tells us. Our sin (breaking His commandments.) Where are we bound when we die? The lake of fire. Has He made a way out to escape it? Yes. Repent (turn away from your sin and believe in/call upon/& follow the One He sent to pay the price (death on a cross) required to pay for our sins...His Son, Jesus Christ. There is salvation in no one else.

      ✝️🙏 I think Dennis has worldly views. I'm glad you included all of this with the preaching of the Gospel of Christ. We should always going back to the Bible. So those who don't know Jesus won't think that we are the preacher. That it's not just something we made up but it's in the Bible and Jesus said it and I believe it. It makes so much sense. You have to be pretty strong to believe. It's a lot easier to not believe and I think that's a problem with non-believers. So John I just prayed for you if you're reading this because it seems like you're interested and that's a great thing. Keep asking questions. But just to know that Dennis is not on the mark of what he just told you. I don't know if you could ever get Johnny Van Zant but he is to me the epitome of a strong believer. He doesn't hide it and he puts it bright up there in a such a kind and gentle way another good interview would be Deen Castronovo who is a Christian

    Notice this profound statement of Jesus to Nicodemus in John 3:12. "If I tell you about earthly things (i.e. speak to you in earthly terms of earthly concepts) and you do not believe (i.e. understand, grasp, etc), how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?" That always makes my head explode. All of our religious language is metaphor and imagery of the great mystery beyond. So even if you had Jesus himself on as a guest and asked him this question, Where do we go when we die? He wouldn't necessarily give you a concrete answer! 😂😇🙏 I speak as an adult convert to the Catholic faith having arrived after a long spiritual journey. I have found that the Catholic Church is quite a "big tent". There is a place in the tent for mystical, Eastern viewpoints. Blessings.

    • @stephensdygert7600
      @stephensdygert7600 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jesus Christ made it very clear, during His exclusive earthly ministry to the nation of Israel. You choose to be biblically ignorant. God is pouring out His free gift of grace today, to a evil, religious, superstitious, world by faith alone in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. I suggest you sit down and read Paul's epistles. Romans-Philemon. Grace is unmerrited, eternal favor with God. You can't buy grace, you can earn grace by trying to perform dead works in a religious, performance system like Catholicism or Islam, Mormonism, watchtower of witnesses, ect.ect. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.(kjv) taken from II Corinthians 5:21

    I believe that there is either a Supreme Being, or not a Supreme Being; and if He does exist, He has the benevolence to make whatever you have believed come true. If you think you die and nothing happens, you got it. If you believe you die and get to sit on a cloud with your Mom and all of your pets, you got it (of course this would just be your afterlife reality; Mom and Rover get whatever they believe). And if you believe you suck and need to burn in a lake of fire, I suppose you could have that as well, but l don't think the SB would consign you to Hell for eternity, he'd probably just send you to Arizona. My point being, maybe, if there is a SB, he gives you the afterlife that you believe will happen.
    An all-purpose religion for everyone. Everybody gets to be right!

  • @Perri-Prinz
    @Perri-Prinz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think Dennis is on to something. The person who says "I don't know" is probably the smartest person in the debate. I could sit here and come up with a theory of where people go when they die, and you might find it comforting, but it would still be only opinion. It wouldn't be truth. But I believe there was some famous philosopher who said, admitting the absence of knowledge is the first step towards acquiring knowledge.

    If anything now exists, 'something' must be eternal; or Nothing could exist today - That eternal 'something' is God.
    The Bible - Filled with eyewitness testimony to the miracles of the old and new testaments, and to the resurrection of Jesus Christ
    Jesus, the one who opened blind eyes, raised the dead, and came back from the grave Himself said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes to the Father except through me".
    As Dennis alluded to, we live with the burden of the sentence of death hanging over our head's. So true! I'd say then, that we should feel even stronger the urgency of coming to the Savior who, because of Love, gave himself up to death, so that our sins can be totally forgiven!

    No wonder Styx doesn't want him around. What kind of nonsense was he spewing in that video. He sounds nuts, just rambling on about about how humans treat each other. No real insight or enlightenment. Just one bumper- sticker phrase after another. Too bad.

    • @davel7791
      @davel7791 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dennis rambles and can sound really foolish. And yet some of his song lyrics have layers and layers of meaning and truth in them (particulary The Grand Illusion and Castle Walls). The gap between what he says and what he writes seems huge. This just deepens my conviction that artists like Dennis "channel" songs more than they "write" them, if that makes any sense.
