It's a great rod it can throw just about anything from 1/4 oz to 3/4 oz treble baits or jig hook. Super light and sensitive however I don't have experience with the nrx+ but I've heard good things

Try Fishing legg lake , that’s my local lol it’s in south El Monte , big bass in there but lots of pressure

I just from Santa Clarita to Burbank. I've never fished Balboa. Any advice ?
It's a minnow based lake mainly but there's also craws and bluegill/tilapia. Jerkbaits crankbaits small swimbaits work really well
