what year do you have? its not working for me. did your key fob blink red when trying to unlock? should I get my fob battery changed? mine blinked red but it still didnt work
First didn’t know this soo sent the car to dealer they diagnosed the key and told me need to get a new key as my key was faulty, paid for the diagnosis without being held saw yr video did same steps u did and wala my key is working thank u soo much saved me alot of money 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Thank you so much for video. I have a 2013 EOS Executive which has the push put-on start so I am not able to put the key inside the ignition. How would I do the same thing you did if I do not have a keyed ignition and have a push button ignition.
Few dollars. Amazing. I just went to Volkswagen dealership and they charged me $220 to reprogram two remotes. No idea why they got out of sync as I did not change the battery. Anyway. $220 later I see this video.

I am not sure what car you have but you may want to check for water damage, specifically in the passenger footwell to see if you have a module effect by water damage. Please share an update, thanks.
Additionally I have seen people have issues with the Keyless entry module, which you can get rebuilt for a lot less. Google search, repair and return keyless entry module for Volkswagen. There are places that will bench test your module if you send it in to see if the module is malfunctioning. Please share an update, thanks.

I have a 2012 passat. FOB got slightly wet the other day and the unit is a little beat up. I put a new battery in it and it worked fine a couple days. Now I am getting Key not in range over and over. I tried this and it is not working. Any ideas?
same here. just got the car battery replaced Monday. now its Wednesday and the key wont work after trying this 3 times, but it was working fine this morning. the dash lights wont even come on when I turn the key without starting the car like he said.

Next I would try a hard reset, making sure you have your radio codes and whatnot. If all fails you may want to scan the car for faults in other modules. Please share an update, thanks.
If you have an intermittent issue like this I would check for water damage to your modules, like the BCM which is under the passenger footwell often times and on older models can get water damaged. Please share an update. This usually happens from poor sunroof drain tube maintenance.

You do his directions as stated, then push the button without pushing brake pedal. I’ve done this cars with push to start, and it worked no problem.
Worked perfectly as you suggested. You saved me a few dollars going to dealership or the locksmith.
