- In this video, we compare the newly remastered HD version of Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Nintendo Switch with the original Wii version. The Switch version brings updated graphics, smoother gameplay at 60 frames per second, and includes the eight levels from the 3DS version.

🛑I made a mistake in this video! Only the Nintendo 3DS DK is 30 frames per second, the Nintendo Wii is 60 frames per second.🚧
the og donkey kong country returns was my fav childhood game so im super hyped for the remaster
👏👏👏
me toooo!
I’m just happy i get to play this game again on a more modern console.
I'm glad for you! It's a owesome game!
im so hyped!
🙏🫡
I'm picking it up because I'm a Donkey Kong fan, and I'll do whatever I can to support DK. I also think it will be nice to have a version of Returns that has all the strengths of both the Wii and 3DS versions but none of the weaknesses.
Why does the narrator sound like a robot?
because I write the entire script, but I'm not the one who narrates it. Is it bad for you?
Because it's an AI...
@@PrinceVegetaBrief I thought so.
@itsgreatgames good on you for writing the script but it sounds like A.I. And yes, A.I. sucks.
It's gonna better!
Both look fine, minor details aside.
The Wii version is so much better. I really hope that Nintendo fixes these issues when it releases on Switch
If you've never played it, it's definitely worth buying, as it's one of the best games in the DK franchise.
@@itsgreatgames I agree that it is the best DKC game but I'm happy with my 3ds version other than spending 70 Au dollars to play a poorly remade game. But considering the game doesn't get released until early 2025, hopefully the graphics get a lot better
Idk the lighting in on Wii looks more natural, the switch looks too sterile in some shots
👍
Wow, what s great work! They make a game look a bit sharper after 15 years of development on a new console … and they are so kind to sell it at the same price and not doubling it up (cause they doubled the framerate)…
This isn't the result of 15 years of development.
The 3DS port added so much to the original game. New levels, extras, items, etc etc.
But all this adds is higher image quality. If this port added something new like online co-op, then I’d be more likely to pay the $60 price.
I agree with you, but unfortunately I didn't see Nintendo announce a game in co-op.
This may be irrelevant since most people these days DON’T have CRTs, but playing the original version in a CRT looks amazing! It’s a definite downgrade playing the Wii on HD monitors. Or maybe I’m just a purist
The original game on Wii was already 60fps. Why these videos never do correct research?
Worse than that, you're right about DC for Wii, because for the Nintendo 3DS it's 30 frames per second. I made a mistake!
Just subscribed and I do make nintendo content too.
Thanks!👍
I know of another retrostudios remaster that sells for 20 dollars less.
very good! It's a considerable discount!
@@itsgreatgames It's not even a discount, $40 is just the price
@@nyvve1 It is. Nintendo does not discount its exclusives.
@@itsgreatgames Sorry mate, I think I misunderstood what you meant by discount. Also, for being cheaper and shadow dropped, I think Nintendo knows mario and zelda will sell more than metroid, even at a higher price.
