⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ NYC Subway Front Window View - A Shuttle from Howard Beach to Far Rockaway

Until early 2020, some of the trains that ran on the A line were made up of R32-type equipment, which had passenger-accessible front windows! This allowed for the creation of videos that show the view ahead. This video shows the front-window view of a special A shuttle service that operated on a weekend in May 2019 between Howard Beach and Far Rockaway. Southbound trains originated on the northbound platform at Howard Beach, and ran south via track F3 to get to the Rockaways. It is relatively rare for in-service passenger trains to operate over track F3, which is in noticeably worse shape than the outside tracks south of Howard Beach. Enjoy!

Back in the late 60s when we skipped school this was one of the many different train rides we took to kill time. The windows could be opened in those days and we would stick our heads out while crossing the water. Had to watch out for signals and signs. Miss those days exploring the subways.

We're never gonna get views like this again in regular service after the retirement of the R32s. The good thing is that almost all cars still have windows, but you now have to peak through a cab window.
The unfortunate thing is that some of them are either blocked off by employees just standing, bags in the way, or painted over the cab door window

The view out of the front of Few cars is amazing!! Several trips of mine were in the R32's. Never experienced the Fe track. Only shuttle was Broad Channel to Rockaway Park. Thanks for this review😀😀
*Why OH WHY* do they have to remove passenger cabin front widows from all the newer stock???? They've turned a great experience for transpogeeks into a goddamn bloody commute.

That timing signal at the end of the south channel bridge is fucking useless. And that bridge needs to be replaced ASAP. Every time they open it seems like they can never close it the same way they open it
