Great video! It feels like I'm watching my uncle repairing stuff. And now at the age of 16 I'm already repairing electronics on my own wn workbench. Question though, I recently acquired the same deck for almost the same price. It cost less on mine but does this deck have a good recording capabilities? I mean sure considering the tape quality as well or what not. But I just want to make sure that it will be good enough as mixtape recording services in my country is not budget friendly. I will also post a video of the repair of this particular deck when I got the time to kill. Thanks so much for your answer!

Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot!
I replaced the belts but I have a problem with the speed of the motor, which runs really too slowly: can you tell me where the adjustment is?
The hifiengine documentation didn't help me...

Should be a speed control in the back of the motor. Youd need a jeweller style flat head to adjust

3 missing screws are from the faceplate in the upper side. Same as down side...

I have the same deck. Everything works, play, FF, REV, etc EXCEPT the MS (music Search) feature. When in FF if you engage MS it seems to try and push the head up into the tape but it won't stay it falls back. Any ideas?

Hmm. Unusual. Perhaps check around the head solenoid. Could be lubricant . My guess is mechanical. Is the machine high hours
