This was so delightfully simple and quick. All the other tutorials I found were like eight or nine years out of date, people using third party software or ancient DVD burners that you have to buy separately. But this works in minutes. Now I can make my pirated movie library portable!

You need to explain how to select the option or format the DVD to play on a DVD player...
When you put in a blank cd /dvd / blu-ray disc in your drive in windows 10 it pops up automatically.
Right because none of the movies I'm making playing on my ps4
I believe if you put a DVD or a cd (Blank) In there It should automatically recognize what it is.
@@wrestlethon917 PS4 doesn't allow "bootleg" DVD's to be played because of the reading sensors in the playstation.

At the beginning you said DVD rom. I believe those are read only drives. You need a DVD-R or DVD-RW drive to burn.

Ie. Flac Vs MP3, the 80 min limit on most CDRs, the 700 mb space limit, the funny jumbled up ordering of tracks for burning , the iffy quality of many types of CDRs, actually finding a CD player/recorder that works, etc

Not so fast...sooo many questions left undone. Mainly, which option allows for adding more files later? I'm doing a archival M Disc. I want to incrementally add video files to my 50gig disc as I get them done in my video upscaling program. So I'll add a file today, maybe add another next week, etc till the 50g is taken up, then finalize the disc. So which option do I choose with that??? And also, if I choose the 'like a USB stick' option, and add video files to that, can I view them only on PC and not on a DVD player?? WILL video files work with this option?? And does choosing the 'For DVD/CD" option finalize the disc so it becomes unwritable after burning??? Thanks for the help
It works with blank blu-ray disc too. Just use a blank blu-ray instead of a blank dvd and pick where it says "with cd / dvd player" and follow his instructions. Using it as a USB flash drive wasn't very useful for me. Excellent video!!! Keep up the great work...
Thanks for the video! right to the point! I had to format the disc first though. Right click the DVD Drive once your disc is spinning in your computer. Click Format, then Okay. And she's ready to burn!!!!!

I have done exactly that but burned a video and photos to the disc but it said file was empty on my moms laptop and doesn’t work on a DVD player? The first disc I burned worked and the other two I’m doing won’t burn for some reason? Every time I put it in it basically starts over at the choosing screen when I’ve already done this three times

Hi! I'm trying to put some videos onto a DVD to play in DVD players: I'm using a DVD+R (16x speed). There's no 16x speed option on the laptop (only 8x or below). Burn failed. Is the DVD type the problem? What speed should I burn at (from the options I have?) How can I complete a DVD burn successfully? I hope you can help. Thanks.

Hi Alex. I'm a senior and am gobsmacked how to watch my older home videos I burned onto various dvd's I had. Some are from an old VHS camcorder and then a small handheld Panasonic camcorder. Some run on my pc and some don't. I either want them all on new dvd's or even upload them permanently onto TH-cam. I have 2 dvd disks on my pc. Help!
if you have an old car or old boom box you NEED to use CD R or CD ROM format cd’s, i didn’t know this and used CD RW and now it won’t play in my car or boom box. RW means you can wipe and rewrite the cd infinite times but with R you can only burn it once
Do I suck at making DVDs or am I doing something wrong? I’ve been trying to burn a DVD successfully using DVDStyler. I need to learn the full potential of DVD-Rs like I did with CD-Rs because I learned their potential. I can burn discs to make custom soundtracks with Windows Media Player (been doing that for years) and game backups or burning disc files/copying from discs using IMGBurn.

I'm trying to copy folders of pics using the CD option (not like a flash drive). But after copying to my D: drive (before burning), when I change the view to Thumbnails, it goes right back to Icons when I exit (and yes, the folder's "Always use icons" option is unchecked.)

Hi Alex, I bought a formatted CD but the reading is the computer doesn't recognize disk. Also, when you say go to the file you want to burn and drag the file, drag file where? When I do that it shows dvd rw drive. Does this mean I can't download using a CD-R?

What am I doing wrong? I did everything for burning a dvd even clicked where it says it will play on a dvd player but nothing. Just closes session but doesn't finalize dvd to make it playable on a dvd player. Any help would be appreciated. Just spent close to an hour copying video files onto dvd only to find out that it is only usable on other computers.

Alex, my window that pops up when I click on "burn to disc" reads that Windows can not read the disc. Make sure it is formatted for Windows. What is the problem? These are the same discs I have been using all along.

How about the vertical player on the HP Envy? It's not flat like most & I don't dare put a disc in vertically for fear of it falling down & jamming something up on the inside.It's designed to be upright like most towers but the player is not flat---very unusual.Any thoughts?
I did everything as of your instructions towards burning a DVD, but the last step "burn to a DVD" is not highlighted to function the command, so didn't burn.
problem im having is.. my hp laptop automatically goes to windows media player when I click burn to cd/dvd …
the weird part is, my cd will automatically be finalized and will work on ANYTHING,
when I do the same with dvd it will only work on laptop and ps3's but NOT dvd players...
AND.. there is no option to finalize...
I don't get another dialog box up asking if i want to use CD as data/USB or CD/DVD. I need to change to CD/DVD so it will play music but i don't know how to make the box come back up. Do you know how to do this?
The prompt I get does not say Burn A Disc. Instead it shows all the songs in my library which doesn’t help because I want to create a CD from the mp3s on my hard drive, not from the songs in my library. This isn’t quite as easy as you say it is.
My computer has windows media on it and though I've used it to burn CD`s before I`m having trouble with it now..should I forget about that and follow your method instead? I`m using a custom built desktop with Windows 10..I`ve never had these issues before even on a cheap laptop..I guess it`s an obvious question but I`m not even sure I have the option..checking it out now..I`m guessing I might have a bad disk drive...any suggestions..thanks

I "copied" a bunch of data to a DVD (used it like a flash drive) and according to the properties, I have the DVD pretty much full. Everything seemed to "copy" to it. But then I just ejected it. But when I inserted it again, I can't see any of the data files. Again, if I right click to get the "properties", it tells me the disk is almost full... but I can't actually "see" anything in there. the only "file" I see it something called "desktop" and it's a configuration setting. Have a actually copied anything to this DVD or do I have to do it over? Any help would be appreciated.

Pfft. I have watched a dozen of these and so far not one of you has burned a DVD which is much more complicated than a CD which most people have been doing for decades.
I did this same process but when i try inserting the disc in a bluray player it says disc not found and playback feature not working. Fix?
I have a desktop. The drive in the pc doesn't work, won't even open. I bought an external burner. The problem is that wmp won't give the option for the next drive. I went through the device setup but still no recognition to wmp....
