This astonishing routine has a very sentimental meaning for me. Not only is it without doubt the slickest and most polished card trick I have ever seen, I had the privilige to be his closeup camera operator at a show some years back. I was so mesmerized by his card manipulation I almost dropped the camera. Shawn really is THE master magician and a true gentleman, thanks for the memories!
Absolute legend in the field of card tricks! The "shape of my heart" is one of the earliest card tricks I watched on youtube (maybe even the first). That was way back when I was a kid. To this day, it remains my favorite card trick! It is really awesome to see that he still performs live!!
This has probably been my favorite piece from the first time I saw it. I intentionally say "piece" because it is a work of art. You can't just call this a trick. It has everything. The magic, the presentation and a song that means so much to me for reasons I won't go in to here.
this is single greatest card performance I've ever seen. I've watched you do it many times in many different vids, and it always holds me spellbound. the fact that it has an emotional impact makes all the difference. thanks Shawn, for creating this timeless work of art.
I could watch this routine on loop for an eternity, close to the perfect trick blending magic and song into it, making such beautiful piece of artistry.
I found this routine on youtube a long time ago. I watched it many times. My knowledge of magic was divided into BEFORE and AFTER. It inspired me to dive into, to learn more, to practice some simple routines myself. Thank youm mr Farquhar sir! You've made my life much more interesting. You're an absolute treasure.
ahhh Shawn. It almost brings tears to my eyes. What a piece of art and artistry. This and the one about your grandfather...so much more than magic. I just found out about your place in New Westminster. Can't wait to come see you there next time I'm down.
I can watch this perfomance over and over again its so good. And everyone who likes magic should have seen it at least once. Glad you still perform it. ;) And as always very happy to see new videos from and with you.
Shawn, you're an absolute MASTER, and this is my favorite routine you do. I don't even think about the moves and how each reveal is performed, I just sit and let the performance flow... it's magical!
Beautifully done. Been watching you do this incredible trick for more than 15 years, and you are still the master. Was pleased to discover another clip as recent as this year! Simply wonderful!
I am a Mexican, watching, in the middle of the day, a Canadian magician perform in Bulgaria. This is one of my absolute favorite card tricks. Astonishing
That has to be one of the most beautiful routines ever...no, not one of, the most beautiful, full stop. You, Sir, are not a magician you are a wizard. Thank you for a wonderful performance.
I've waited more than 14 years for a new video of this performance...a video in good quality. I was so excited when I saw the video title. And then it is once again only a video of a recorded screen. :( Anyway, great performance as always, Shawn! Maybe one day we will get this in 1080p or 4K...
I saw the Fran version many years ago and was deeply touched by it. Now watching this performance and noticing the tremors makes it just as powerful as seeing it for the first time… albeit rather bittersweet. Time waits for no man. Be well.
When i was in the hospital 2020, waiting to get my pacemaker, i watched this routine over an over again. I even "bothered" some of the nurses to watch it along with me. I like to be amazed by some big over the top stage illusion, but i love to be touched by "simple" sleight of hand magic that tells a story just threw the performers skills and music. Just a few weeks ago i watched "León" once again, and as the credits rolled out i went to You Tube and guess what ;).
Camera man went up too fast to his mouth. Still didn't disrupt the master piece, big koodos to Shawn too, even when shaking a lot maitained a perfection seen by few.
This is the legendary combination of music and magic. I noticed that you gave up changing the jack of diamonds to the queen of spades in this performance. You've probably used "twirl changes" before, what's the reason for that?. If you don't, it's still the best act.
@@MavisRileyJunior I can perform different routine to this song but not the same one exactly! I could’ve performed it many years ago since this just a card trick to a song that only sting has rights to so… But to perform his version I need to wait for Shawn to release it. I mean magicians steal from each other all the time and “borrow” different ideal but it is always nice to ask :) but a different version I know I can…
Vitaliy your answer is awesome. I would never ask anyone not to use the music or do a routine using it. I only ask they don't do my routine the way I do it. I have seen some awesome routines over the years. I had one guy do it exactly and I did ask him to stop... his response showed his lack of respect form the magic community... he said, "I'll keep doing it until I find a better ending of my show". He's a loser.
Nothing sad, I'm 61 and have micro tremors. I have had them for a couple of decades, the camera just makes them more obvious. If my small imperfections make you sad, sorry.
Maybe some CBD oil can help with those hand trembles? It's a shame what age can do to you... You don't know how much you inspired me when I was young. Took me so long to reverse engineer your trick 15 years ago. Watching your trick again and again until I could make it! Was only 18 back then! There is a video of it on my channel, it's a bad video but a decent enough performance but who cares. It was just for me. I was just getting into magic and your routine just made me fall in love with it even more. Anyway, hope you are doing well and see you again on penn and teller!

@@bramgroothedde Unfortunately not as it was a simple live feed to the big screen.
Even if I had recorded it, it would be the property of Mr.Farquar
16+ years still beautiful and majestic.♥️
Thank you...
Hello from Kazakhstan thank you 😊
i've been watching this card routine on youtube for years now... it is one of my hopes that I get to see it live someday!
This trick makes me cry every time I watch it Shawn & I don’t know why. Just beautiful
Thank you for the great great performance. Greetings from Gabrovo, Bulgaria.
I love Gabrovo!!!!

A timeless, magic masterpiece! Thank you for that!

Just a beautiful routine. Absolutely fabulous and worthy of the thousands of hours you must spend practicing it!

Absolute favourite. Shawn the GOAT! 🐐♥️
I've seen this live multiple times and countless times on video... still absolutely beautiful ❤ Thanks for sharing your magic Shawn...
I love this routine so, so much ❤️

Very cool! Beautifully performed 😎
That is the most beautiful piece of magic. Happy to see it again!
Man, this hits every time. Just recently saw Shin Lim doing his version of this in Vegas honouring you.
Such a beautiful piece of art!
Shin was awesome on AGT
This performance gives me goosebumps every time
I absolutely love this routine!
Absolutely beautiful
Just... wow. Amazing job Shawn

The United Nations of magic...
I really wish the world would unite through magic. It would be awesome!@@ShawnFarquhar
for some reason, this melody popped into my head a few days ago and it wouldnt leave. now you upload this. thanks for being magical

This is my favorite trick of all time. The mastery of slight of hand and misdirection on display.
One hell of an ACR! Just one of the many reasons you're my favorite magician
Best magic act ever.
I saw the Fran version many years ago and was deeply touched by it. Now watching this performance and noticing the tremors makes it just as powerful as seeing it for the first time… albeit rather bittersweet. Time waits for no man. Be well.
The same as when you did it here in Sri Lanka! Love seeing this!
Class act Card Magic
Such an amazing routine
what a class performance
Thank you

👏👏👏👏
So good
Nice

For real, expert handling, beautifully performed. How does it feel doing it with your own deck? !
Супер🔥
Subtext for magicians: "Don't do fast moves, just keep dancing."
He’s the best. Trust me.
Thanks Jim! You are the best as well. We made a great team when you operated the camera!
Almost as perfect as the original one. Yet both are wonderfully performed
i always want to film this routine but was too lazy yesterday i did it and now you're posting it 😮 what are the odds !
Now are you going to react to Jason’s reaction?!
Remember this at the Pne
That show was Unbelievable.

I switch stuff up all the time in the routine just for fun.
It is very beautiful and of course magicians know how it’s done, but when are you going to sell it cuz until then none of us allowed to perform it!
That isnt true you can perform it now.

03:55 Shawn was sad bc cameraman messed up his best trick :) But dont be sad Shawn, we know you
LOL... the cameraman didn't mess it up. He knew what to do, but someone on the intercom told him he was messing up, so yeah, I guess he did. HA.
Damn time flies. Almost seems like his hands is tremoring. Very sad
Nothing sad, I'm 61 and have micro tremors. I have had them for a couple of decades, the camera just makes them more obvious. If my small imperfections make you sad, sorry.
@@ShawnFarquhar Oh sorry did not mean to be insulting at all. It just made me feel old compared to when i first saw your great act
i guess they just became more obvious with HD cameras haha
You wouldn't be coming to Japan anytime soon would you?
No plans at this time..
