That was a brilliant video. Thank you so much!! You explained every detail of what you were doing in a way that made so much sense. What I loved was the way you continually repeated the fact that you only placed the concealer on the areas that required the attention. Not to take it too far up the eye. I have a violin( fiddle) that is very old and I once was invited to a music studio house that some really good musicians owned. In that house there was a room for working on instruments. My friend, took my violin and took it apart! he made adjustments to the thickness of the top face of the violin and put it back together. He explained to me that it was a good violin, and if I now played it well, it would develop fractures in the shellac that allowed beautiful vibrations to resonate from my violin. He explained that the common vibrations cause common wrinkles in the finish and if the music played is not beautiful, the wrinkles will not be the kind that allow good sounds ( vibrations) . the reason I am saying this is that the texture of a persons face will be lovely if they express lovely feelings. You, and others with a lovely disposition, develop a tell tale beauty that even from a distance shows the lovely nature of their thoughts and feelings. perhaps do not hide the signs of your sweet self. it will be beautiful because of your nature...perhaps, : )

This is truly the best video on concealing the under eye I have ever watched. I deal with hollows and puffy under eyes from allergies so both seem exaggerated, and I couldn’t believe how well this technique balanced things out. I am SO insecure about my under eyes and this really helped my confidence!
Hi Joy ☺️ Gosh I totally relate, problematic under eyes can have such a negative impact on confidence- I’ve struggled all of my life. To think that this video has helped you in some way makes me so incredibly happy! Thank you so much for sharing, I’m so grateful! 💕☺️
This is an amazing technique, thanks for the upload! I realised a while ago that when we are young, the little fat pad under our eyes was positioned directly under the lashline and as we get older, it just flattens out into a hollow or bag! So we end up looking strange when we try to white out the entire area with concealer and hide that youthful contour. Instead, we can create it and I've actually seen many Asian girls draw a thin line just under the lower lash line with a contour pencil to mimic this youthful eye pouch then cover the rest with concealer, which is similar to what you did here! Very natural result.
Hi Melissa! Oh wow, I had no clue that the fat pad actually drops as we age. That is fascinating, thank you so much for sharing! I’m off to inspect my kids’ eyes now 😂 thanks for your lovely comment, I really appreciate it 😘🩷
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Thank you! These hollows have been a life long thorn for me. And when I became sick with fibromyalgia & a sleep disorder it became worse. I have a drawer full of under eye makeup! I believe the technique you demonstrated is what I need to try. Many thanks!❤
Hi Hazel, thank you so much for sharing 💗 Gosh I’m so sorry to hear about your health struggles. I completely understand your feelings, especially when in the vicious cycle of needing sleep but not being able to get it. It can be quite soul & confidence destroying. I love the way you explained everything step by step. I have hollowness under the eyes too and I’ve watched many videos about how to camouflage them but this is the absolute best one I’ve seen. I don’t understand why people have to make it seem so overly complicated in the other videos. They have all of these steps and act like only certain expensive products will work. I can’t wait to try your method. I’m just waiting for the moisturiser under my eyes to dry 😂. Thank you. I’ve subscribed.
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful comment. It truly does mean the world to me! 🥹💕 I really hope it works for you! 🤞 Ps- I find that serums can work a little better under the eyes than moisturiser- they’re better at firming & plumping and they absorb super fast! ☺️ Thanks again for your kind words, hope have a fab day ☺️💕
Thank you! This is great advice. I’ve been literally ‘haunted’ by my purple shadows for as long as I can remember and I use concealer every day - even if it’s a ‘no make up day’. Your tip about getting a lighter concealer is right- I’ve around six concealers and I remember the one I liked best was a lighter one - I can’t get it any more. But I also have quite prominent eye bags (forget fat pads- mine resemble shoulder bags!) any advice for these? I also have a lot of wrinkles under my eyes as a result of trying to wear contact lenses years ago.

Aw I understand, mine are thin & crepey too! Try to use a firming eye serum (not a cream) a few mins before your concealer, I really think you might notice a little difference ☺️ The Natasha Denona is a fab concealer, but honestly any decent concealer will do 😘💗

@@CarmelNicoleBeauty Yes, me too, but I’m finding the “right brush/tool” is sometimes more important than the concealer. By the way, hi from near Savannah GA, USA! My oldest daughter is a Nicole but to the family she’s Nikki.

@@heartmumblr Haha, I still find myself applying concealer like a 2016 TH-camr sometimes 😂 Really appreciate such fan feedback! A little practice and the method can work wonders 😘🩷
Hi Carmel, thank you for this video which I found very useful! I also have deep set eyes, under eye hollows and what I describe as 'teabag staining' on the lids and undereye. Will definitely be more 'strategic' about concealer placement going forward! Interesting you apply concealer under foundation, I'm always concerned it will move when foundation is applied on top but yours didn't, will definitely give this a whirl! Xx❤🤩😍
Hi Jillian 🩷 The key is actually to avoid bringing the foundation over the concealer at all, or vice versa! I simply blend them together, a bit like with different eye shadow colours! That way the concealer stays under your eyes and the foundation on your face, avoiding any caking or heaviness 💗 Do let me know if you give it a try, would love hear how you get on! 🥰💖 xx
amazing 🌺 I try to apply my concealer like this all the time but when we’re in a hurry, we just put concealer all over under our eyes and go which doesn’t look any natural near this
You are so right, Zeynep! And we’ve become so used to seeing people place the concealer underneath the whole eye that we naturally think that it’s the best thing to do (I’m totally guilty of doing that sometimes too by the way! 😂) Hopefully this way won’t be time consuming, just a few carefully placed dots & you’re good to go 🥰🩷
I totally understand, deep set eyes can be tricky! Using concealer carefully both above & below the eye can really help. Also avoiding darker eyeshadows on your actual lid & using a lighter shadow or light shimmer instead can really help to open up the eyes ☺️

@@CarmelNicoleBeauty Thank you very much for your respnse. I've heard and read mixed reviews on the Hy Glam and Beautiful Skin but nothing on Tower 28.

Oh Maria, don’t ever be upset! You are absolutely beautiful 🩷 I obviously understand how confidence shattering our ‘hang ups’ can be, but I can promise you that people only notice your beauty, not your under eyes (and it took me a long time to learn that!) Makeup can be a wonderful tool for helping to restore some confidence & I really hope that this technique will help you too. Practise honestly makes perfect 💗🥰
Hi Nicole, thank you so much! ☺️ You’ll honestly be so surprised at how little product you actually need. I always used to over apply- it just felt wrong to apply so little 😂 I always tell myself that I can always add more, but it’s harder to take away; so it’s best to be gradual ☺️ Good luck with it tomorrow! 🩷
Ty when I saw these videos about how to cover the hollow under the eye, I’m like son of a gun I never even thought because I always just apply a little concealer and it always look nice. I always got compliments, but there was still that little spot right there in the crevice that sometimes I thought showed through and then I’ve also seen videos where you can apply a color corrector and that one spot very lightly and then go over it with your concealer. I always put my make up on first which is attended moisturizer. I don’t really use foundation or sometimes a cushion foundation and then I would do my concealer, but I’m definitely gonna try your way because it makes sense!!!😉
@@nicolerandell9381 Well it sounds like you’re doing fab with your concealer already, just refine that placement & I’m sure it’ll be absolutely perfect! Make sure you let me know how you get on, Nicole ☺️
Ah thank you so much! ☺️ I wouldn’t blame you at all for tear trough filler, it’s definitely more of a semi permanent fix! Just make sure you go to an experienced doctor as it’s a super challenging area to fill ☺️🩷
I have awful dark genetic circles. This is the first video I’ve seen by someone who has similar. Thanks for the tips - I think I’ve been doing it all wrong!
You are so welcome, Susan! ☺️ Ah you haven’t been doing it all wrong at all; what works for one, won’t necessarily work for another! Sometimes we need to tweak or adjust things to suit our own unique faces. Trial & error for sure! 🩷☺️
Oh gosh I’m sorry! Did you use a lighter shade of concealer? I’m only putting the concealer *in the line/contour* - only where it *dips* in. If you’re still concerned with darkness outside of that area, you can use a different shade of concealer (one that matches your skin tone more) in that area. You just have to make sure that you only use a lighter shade in that hollow part that dips in. Thats because adding a light colour ‘brings things forward’ and similarly, adding a dark shade would ‘push things back’. We are adding light because we want to give the illusion of bringing that contour forward, making the hollow seem less visible! Sometimes you just need to keep practicing! It can take a few tries, for sure. Good luck, don’t give up trying 🩷☺️
@@rachidae.o.1214 Hi! Darkness under the eyes is often due to a slight hollow, so focusing on that area can reduce the need for product near the lash line. I avoid applying anything directly there because of fine lines and usually add shadow instead. But if you feel you need extra coverage, try a slightly darker shade of concealer there. Just make sure the hollow is the lightest part to bring it forward! 🩷
@@DarkFaeCosplay I totally understand! I’ve had eye hollows all my life, but didn’t actually realise (I think social media has had a lot to do with highlighting ‘flaws’) Finding a way to minimise them with makeup has been a game changer. I hope this technique does help you in some way! 💜
Hey there! I think powder is a really personal thing, but the Laura Mercier doesn’t work for me at all 😕 It literally makes me look 10 years older than what I am! I find it very drying & it sits into all of my lines. That doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you though! My top powders would be the Huda Easy Bake, the Givenchy Prisme Libre & the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder. All very smooth, very blurring & sets concealer without caking or drying 💖
Hi there! So I’ve only ever used the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder and being honest…I don’t like it at all 😩 I know it’s a holy grail for so many, but it genuinely ages me by about 10 years! 😒 However from what I know, the Brightening version that you mention was formulated specifically for the under eye area; so it’s probably much better and I’m guessing you’ll get less settling into fine lines. It sounds like it’ll give a good brightening effect along with mattifying the area too 😊💕
I have deep set eyes too and you can't really do any kind of wing because it goes away when you stop pulling your eye to the side. Do you do it and how?
Hi Lori ☺️ Oh I totally feel you when it comes to a wing. I rarely do them and for that reason! It can be tricky with deep set eyes, but it is possible! So when I do a wing, I always use a dark eyeshadow, rather than an actual liner. I find shadow more forgiving if you make a mistake! I don’t pull my eye to the side, instead I keep my eye open and follow my bottom lash line out to the side. So basically just an extension of that lower lash line. You might find that the wing looks a little more ‘straight’ than with people without deep set eyes, but that is perfectly normal. I don’t create a huge wing, just something quite subtle and eyeshadow is great for practising this! My tip would be to avoid pulling your eye or distorting it in any way, just look straight ahead into your mirror and create it with eyes resting as normal 🙂 The only brush I can use for a wing is the Sigma E06 winged liner brush. It’s my absolute holy grail liner brush, I genuinely can’t do a wing with _any_ other brush! It’s amazing, so easy to use and ideal for beginners ☺️🩷
Hi there! Crows feet are so tricky to prevent! Firstly, keep the under eye area fully hydrated by using plumping serums that contain active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid. Serums are great at penetrating and firming. My best piece of advice would be to avoid accentuating them. So basically use a very minimal amount of concealer in that area (or none at all if you can!) and I would also avoid using powder in that area too. I never powder near my crows feet because that area is constantly moving and powder can accentuate lines terribly! The only foolproof way outside of all this would be Botox. Sorry if that’s not helpful at all 🩷
Just a question, I have dark circles caused due to genetics. So should I buy a shade lighter or darker? Because I tried using a lighter shade, and it made it greyish. I used a corrector, kinda worked. And now I have a darker shade, and it looks the same as one with a corrector. So I'm confused 🙃
Hey there! Oh gosh, I know- it’s very confusing! 🫤 This is because we should try to match our concealer to our skin tone (light, medium, dark etc) and also to our undertone (cool, warm, neutral, olive) And this in itself is a huge task! On top of this, we all have our specific eye concerns! Nightmare! 😩 It sounds as though you found a colour corrector that cancelled out your darkness quite well! Have a look at what the undertone of that corrector is and find a concealer that has the same undertone. I genuinely believe that you can you can get colour correction from your concealer, no need to buy a separate one. I would definitely advise going to a makeup counter of your choice & get them to experiment on which cancels out your darkness the best. It really is trial & error! Don’t give up- there will be a perfect concealer out there for you somewhere! 🩷🩷
@@CarmelNicoleBeauty omg thank you so much . This is actually so helpful 😭 I actually checked my undertones at a shop, and mine is neutral 🥲so it's more difficult to detect. The colour corrector I had tried on was red/orange which I believe cancelled out my dark circles very well. Which basically draws the conclusion that I might have a warm undertone. But for my lip shades and eye shades, I have a cool undertone. It's so confusing 😭 But thanks for your advice ☺️
@@brindhawagle Aw you are so welcome Brindha, no need to thank me 🥰 Is there any chance that you could be an olive undertone at all?? I am- and didn’t realise until my 40s! 😂 It makes colour matching very challenging! Olive tones can be warm, cool, neutral or a mix! I’m an olive that has very muted warm undertones. Because they’re SO muted, I generally have to go neutral- but that doesn’t mean neutral always works 😬 I promise you will find your shade eventually & you’ll never look back! ☺️💕
@@JaneGormley As strange as it might sound, you definitely can to a certain extent! Stick to the rule that light brings an area forward & dark pushes it back! I’ve seen amazing things achieved by this simple theory 😄 So an example would be using a lighter shade in the marionette line, bringing the dip forward! I’ll have to give it a go myself & see if I can master it! 😃🩷
Hi! Yes of course you can, lots of people prefer to use their fingers to apply makeup ☺️ The reason why I don’t like to use my fingers is because sometimes our natural oils can actually interfere with the product, which can lead to lifting of the concealer and it can sometimes make it less effective! Give it a whirl & see how you go- it’s all trial & error really 😄 Just for your info, ELF Cosmetics & Real Techniques have some amazing brushes & they’re super affordable too! Also, if you’re looking for an amazing drugstore concealer, try the ‘NYX Bear With Me’ serum concealer, it’s as good as any high end concealer out there! Good luck! 😊💗
I think either must be using the wrong concealer or colour as no matter how much I put in the hollow I can see the purple through. Need to look into that
Hi Eve, try going for more of a yellow toned concealer. In theory yellow should help to cancel out the purple! Try some samples before committing to purchase if you can! 🩷

There are so many different factors that cause bags or puffiness, but hydration is definitely key when it comes to reducing puffy eyes or bags, no matter what the cause ☺️ And in relation to this makeup technique, it won’t work on dry under eyes unfortunately 😕 The key is to do whatever works best for you 💕

Hi Ruth ☺️ Oh I understand, under eyes can be so frustrating! I think your best bet is to start with a firming, plumping serum. Just make sure it’s a serum (not a cream) as they contain the active ingredients which will firm & hydrate! Then make sure you use powder to set, this will reduce the look of the bags because you’re taking away the reflection of the hollow.

I have watched many tutorials on this subject and by professional makeup artists....this was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness, such an amazing compliment! Thank you so much 🥹🩷
This is an amazing technique, thanks for the upload!
I truly believe that this technique can be a real confidence booster when you get it right! Play around with it & don’t be afraid to tweak it to suit you! ☺️ I hope you’re feeling much better now Hazel, sending much love 🩷☺️

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful comment. It truly does mean the world to me! 🥹💕 I really hope it works for you! 🤞
Ps- I find that serums can work a little better under the eyes than moisturiser- they’re better at firming & plumping and they absorb super fast! ☺️
Thanks again for your kind words, hope have a fab day ☺️💕

Hopefully this way won’t be time consuming, just a few carefully placed dots & you’re good to go 🥰🩷

Hello! Which foundation have you used here. Your skin looks amazing! And also, which concealer is your favourite?
@@ANNITAMINA Hi there, ah thank you so much! 🥰 So the foundation I have on here in the second part of the video is the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation ☺️ Gosh, concealer is a hard one to choose!

You are so welcome, Susan! ☺️ Ah you haven’t been doing it all wrong at all; what works for one, won’t necessarily work for another! Sometimes we need to tweak or adjust things to suit our own unique faces. Trial & error for sure! 🩷☺️
Thank you for your video. I’ve tried this and it does not work 🤦♀️ are you putting it on the darkness, the line or?? Pls help! 😢
I have deep under eye hollows and nothing seems to work. I’m going to try your method. Thank you for the info.
Hope it helps, Pati! It can take some practise but can be amazing if you can get it right! 💗
But what about the darkness between the lashline and the place you put concealer? There wil still be some darkness if you use nothing there?
@@rachidae.o.1214 Hi! Darkness under the eyes is often due to a slight hollow, so focusing on that area can reduce the need for product near the lash line. I avoid applying anything directly there because of fine lines and usually add shadow instead. But if you feel you need extra coverage, try a slightly darker shade of concealer there. Just make sure the hollow is the lightest part to bring it forward! 🩷

What about Laura merrier powder? Could you say something about that product for hollow under eyes?
All very smooth, very blurring & sets concealer without caking or drying 💖
amazing.

Would Laura Mercier secret brightening powder be good ?
Hi there! So I’ve only ever used the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder and being honest…I don’t like it at all 😩 I know it’s a holy grail for so many, but it genuinely ages me by about 10 years! 😒
However from what I know, the Brightening version that you mention was formulated specifically for the under eye area; so it’s probably much better and I’m guessing you’ll get less settling into fine lines. It sounds like it’ll give a good brightening effect along with mattifying the area too 😊💕
I have deep set eyes too and you can't really do any kind of wing because it goes away when you stop
pulling your eye to the side.
My tip would be to avoid pulling your eye or distorting it in any way, just look straight ahead into your mirror and create it with eyes resting as normal 🙂
The only brush I can use for a wing is the Sigma E06 winged liner brush. It’s my absolute holy grail liner brush, I genuinely can’t do a wing with _any_ other brush! It’s amazing, so easy to use and ideal for beginners ☺️🩷
Do you do anything to prevent crows feet?
Nightmare! 😩
It sounds as though you found a colour corrector that cancelled out your darkness quite well!
@@brindhawagle Aw you are so welcome Brindha, no need to thank me 🥰
Is there any chance that you could be an olive undertone at all?? I am- and didn’t realise until my 40s! 😂 It makes colour matching very challenging! Olive tones can be warm, cool, neutral or a mix! I’m an olive that has very muted warm undertones. Because they’re SO muted, I generally have to go neutral- but that doesn’t mean neutral always works 😬 I promise you will find your shade eventually & you’ll never look back! ☺️💕
I would just like to see the hack/method.
Could I use the same technique for my sagging jowls/ marionette lines lol
@@JaneGormley As strange as it might sound, you definitely can to a certain extent! Stick to the rule that light brings an area forward & dark pushes it back! I’ve seen amazing things achieved by this simple theory 😄 So an example would be using a lighter shade in the marionette line, bringing the dip forward! I’ll have to give it a go myself & see if I can master it! 😃🩷
Can i use a finger to apply a concealer?
I’m a guy and don’t have much to spend😅
Hi! Yes of course you can, lots of people prefer to use their fingers to apply makeup ☺️
The reason why I don’t like to use my fingers is because sometimes our natural oils can actually interfere with the product, which can lead to lifting of the concealer and it can sometimes make it less effective! Give it a whirl & see how you go- it’s all trial & error really 😄
Just for your info, ELF Cosmetics & Real Techniques have some amazing brushes & they’re super affordable too! Also, if you’re looking for an amazing drugstore concealer, try the ‘NYX Bear With Me’ serum concealer, it’s as good as any high end concealer out there! Good luck! 😊💗

@@Kullumanalii oh my gosh, you’re far too kind- thank you so much ☺️ I’ve never heard of the Volufiline serum! Do you use it? 🩷
Thats how I feel that everyone see my eyes.
@@patriciaalcala1153 I totally get that Patricia! I felt the same for many years. I’ve definitely learned to embrace mine more, but having some techniques to minimise them can certainly help with confidence 💜
I have had huge bags under my eyes since first grade!! I was the only one in my family that had them... It was genetics!! I have tried eveeything and nothing worked so ive learned to just conceal the inner part and thats it!! I hate them!!
@@terryblevins2516 I totally understand Terry, it’s disheartening! Acceptance is definitely part of the process but finding your own technique takes time! Believe me, nobody is looking at your under eyes; you’re amazing eye bags or not 🩷
@@CarmelNicoleBeauty That's very nice of you to say, but I've talked to docs and basically the only thing I can do is surgery to be rid of them and I just don't want to do that... I tried your technique this morning and I have to say it helped... So thank you ... I appreciate it!!!❤
I get some filler….why not…I hate them…they just say old….
Oh I don’t blame you, it’s definitely more of a longer term fix! Did they turn out great? 😊
Your so sweet
Aw thank you so much! 🥹🩷
Those with high cheekbones have this problem when they age.
Oh wow, I’d never considered this. Thank you for the insight! ☺️
Turn off the nice music. Your accent is enough. U don't need he annoying music
You can’t put hydration under the eyes when you have “bags” or puffiness.
Hi there! Do you mean due to water retention causing puffiness? There are so many different factors that cause bags or puffiness, but hydration is definitely key when it comes to reducing puffy eyes or bags, no matter what the cause ☺️ And in relation to this makeup technique, it won’t work on dry under eyes unfortunately 😕 The key is to do whatever works best for you 💕
I’m actually in the process of testing out about 15 drugstore concealers 🙈 I’m hoping the video will be complete in a couple of weeks, so that might be helpful when choosing a new concealer? I can come back here & let you know when I’ve published it! ☺️💕
@@CarmelNicoleBeauty thank you! I’d like to see that!
