This video just answered a question I have been trying to find an answer to for a very long time. You also used many of the same parts I just happen to have in my STEM class, which is currently in session and looking for a cargo-style aircraft, with a long flight time, that can handle high winds and be built out of sheets of foamboard. I showed the video to my students and they were asking who to write thank you notes to for making them the video; they thought you made this just for them!
You have NO IDEA how much enjoyment and inspiration you give us with your videos. Thankyou! I know the 'Armin' wing has gained it's name from that of one of your children, so why not make the carrier's name that of the other child. If not many of your plane names are derived from an aspect of their characteristic and in your video you describe the relation to that characteristic of the plane, therefor I think 'GERULUS' or 'BAIULUS' as these mean Carrier or Bearer. Thanks for hours of great video
Can you please do a video on how you formed the nose section for this plane as well as the sky van. Thanks, love your stuff and I am working on that amphibious plane challenge. Keep up the great work!
Awesome job, I'm a big fan of the armin wing and would call this plane the "Arminator" Thanks for all the inspiration. Happy Landings from McMinnville Oregon home of the "Spruce Goose"
Wow! Great footage and a great plane. Can't wait to see the build video for this one. How about calling it the Colossus in honour of its size and lifting capacity.
Ed, I really enjoy your videos and I have learned a great deal about constructing foamboard planes from watching. Can you describe in a comment or an upcoming video how you engineer your landing gear? I struggle with this aspect quite a bit on how to build gear or buy them and then attach to my planes. How do you strengthen and attach the gear to the fuselage?
Looks awesome ed. She looks like the twin otter, other then the 4 motors :-)... I was thinking to build a otter 5O'' ws and use super. nice on the xt6O parallel buss
I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE! I SHALL CREATE A SCALE TWIN OTTER OUT OF FOAM CORE JUST BECAUSE YOU ALMOST DID, ONLY YOU PUT TOO MANY MOTORS. Lol great vid and nice design, I like twin otters too btw :)
No plans, but not hard to make your own. This one uses the 7" airfoil plus 2" aileron and flap configuration which is my large plane workhorse. 60" wingspan. As for the all-moving horizontal stabilizer I just made bushings from drilled-out CF plate, affixed to fuselage, and made a CF axle to go through. I then built up the stab from foam. I think it's cool, but I'd go with a conventional elevator in the future for big planes. But hey, if you're up to it, give it a shot!
Great job! All I can think of is "Con Air"! I am building a 1:18 PBY Catalina. I expect it to be about 8 pounds with equipment. What motors and props do you think I will need? One source had me with two 380 kv and 12 inch three blade.
Love the design, Nice what you did with the flaps. Nice flight would like to make a 2 motor plane like it but unsure of the movable horizontal control. Would most likely go with a conventional one. Due you have any plane or measurements for this and would you be willing to share them ?.
OK Ed, obviously you have many videos, and I have not seen them all (yet). How I missed this one, I don't know... but I like it. A great looking plane (your unique build style/material looks great!) Looks like it flew itself, yet it did everything you told it to do on the sticks. Really like the landing gear and touch-N-goes. Is this similar to the APD and is this before or after the APD? I am working on at least one APD now and plan to do more of your designs.
As they say today "that's sick" I've been checking out the Grumman hu16 albatross used in Expendables2 movie but would like to stay downsized to the 30 in range. found aluminum spraybottles at DS that would make good cowls.
wantHello Edde, I want to build a 4 motor plane like this but I see the batteries your running and you only get 12 min flight time. I thought it would even out the thrust more and put more lift on it pushing rushing air past the wing? I really like your Elivator on this! and thanks for the tip on the center downward trust. I would have had my plain really working had with motors go in g weird directions. Well maybe I will do a really light glider with 8' wing span and I'll work it up in the air 400' and just chill. thanks again, wheels up!
I have 4 1000kv 2212s that are about to be gathering dust, as I upgrade another copter, the former will be removed from my Jack O'Copter and replaced with my XJ's current motors. I don't like having good parts lying around useless, and was thinking about mounting all 4 of these on a large glider-ish plane, designed for endurance. No acrobatics planned, and I'd probably use parallel Li-Ion batteries. Payload would likely just be a small forward facing camera, and possibly a belly camera for mapping/S&R type shots. Any input would be welcome!
Hey, great video! I just have one quick question about setting up four motors. Did you use 3 Y-harness connectors? Other than that I can't think of how you would set up the motors. If you get a chance to let me know that would be awesome! Thanks a lot
It looks like the Islander to me albeit with 4 props, good job, Just seems a waste of 4 engines to me, and all that power, but who am I to say. but saying that it fly's very nice. 10/10.
Cool! Spiffy sound track! Is anybody building a Lippisch Aerodyne type drone? Seems like it would be a good design for a "Safe Drone" with the props enclosed like they are. Thanks for the post!
I would like to build a scratch build twin but I'm not sure how to set up the counter rotating engines/props. My thought is to reverse the wires on the second engine so it runs in the opposite direction and put a pusher prop on it. Can anyone tell me if that is correct?
You do NOT have to have counter rotating props to have a twin! It will fly great with both motors running in normal rotation. I have many twins and none are counter rotating!
This is awesome, i love the tail cam. Thanks for sharing 👍
your attention to detail amaze me sir.

This is a nice flying piece of kit. Very good design.
very nice job...looks and flies great.....
Ed you are a cool guy ! All of your planes are awesome thanks for sharing your knowledge!!:)
great looking plane ED
That looks a lot like the twin otters I used to skydive from. You should call it the Quad Otter!
Nice touch and go!!!!!

Great planes...love the music too
Glad I stumbled over your videos.
Armin legacy sounds great, as previously suggested. Ed as always your planes rock!

EA's Quad cargo may be a good name for it. Nice plane Ed. Keep up the good work.
Nice plane and great video. Yeah its a Hercules!!!
Blue Skies Ed. Another winner!
As usual, Ed makes us that purchase and fly expensive kits look like fools for doing so. Well done, Ed. :)
Ed you are a cool guy ! All of your planes are awesome thanks for sharing your knowledge!!:)👍👍👍💯💯💯
Very nice Skyvan
great plane,have a nice flight
Yeah ! good stuff i love this build . Nice going Edd keep them coming
Wow! Great footage and a great plane. Can't wait to see the build video for this one. How about calling it the Colossus in honour of its size and lifting capacity.
call it The Duke..very nice as always
for a older chap you have a real good taste in music for your video !
Should have watched all the way to the end before commenting! ;) I'm going to try that and see if I can make mine look as nice!
Flies great!
cool plane.... I hope to be flying a photon this weekend
i was waiting for you to make a quad motor plane now you have.Love it
Nice job Ed
Your planes are always so well done ..I thihk (The EA QUATTRO ROJO) Is a good name

"BAE 146" - She's pretty power hungry Ed. Like the real BAE 146! Standing for "Bring Another Engine" and "1" plane "4" engines, built for "6" :)
Looks awesome ed. She looks like the twin otter, other then the 4 motors :-)... I was thinking to build a otter 5O'' ws and use super. nice on the xt6O parallel buss
ArminBus...is my suggestion.....a really ingteresting design...Rgds....Laurie
Love it, nice clean build. PDF the plans please and distribute to us builders. parts list to please.
That's a good one !!
It looks amazing. Well done.
And for the name maybe "The Transporter" or "EA Porter" :D
just wow!! i'm going to build one
Name it "Quattuor". Latin for "four". Awesome build, and great videos. Thanks!!
man a rc company should hire you to design stuff
I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE! I SHALL CREATE A SCALE TWIN OTTER OUT OF FOAM CORE JUST BECAUSE YOU ALMOST DID, ONLY YOU PUT TOO MANY MOTORS. Lol great vid and nice design, I like twin otters too btw :)
Great plane/video as always, how about'' Four Delivery''
Call it The Redliner Cargo Plane or short Redliner.BTW very nice job and I'm amazed!Keep up the good work.

Great Job man a very cool plane (quad prop3-2200) I'll have to build something like it I bet it's a blast to fly, looks like it. NAME^^^
Great job! All I can think of is "Con Air"! I am building a 1:18 PBY Catalina. I expect it to be about 8 pounds with equipment. What motors and props do you think I will need? One source had me with two 380 kv and 12 inch three blade.
Reminds me of the Shorts Skyvan, so between an the Scottish Aviation Islander and Skyvan, I'd call it Ivan!
It's funny. The Avro Lancaster bomber started out as a 2 engine plane and was deemed too under powered. They put 2 more motors on and created a legend
Amazing.
be very happy to pay the shipping if it was called "my plane". lol nice work, your vids are always top notch, thanks for sharing
Nice bird but you didn´t show how the wing is hooked up under that hatch on top??
Very nice.
Wow great airplane! Wish I could build one. No foam board available on Guam though. What kind of camera do you use for the on board video?
love it !
wonder what will the payload be in this model!
Super vid.
I dunno, I think that would make a nice FPV setup with a P&T rig.
Put a servo for a door and allow it to drop stuff out the back. Maybe rubber band loaded?
Love the design, Nice what you did with the flaps. Nice flight would like to make a 2 motor plane like it but unsure of the movable horizontal control. Would most likely go with a conventional one. Due you have any plane or measurements for this and would you be willing to share them ?.
what a great plane maybe the EA WORKHORSE ?
you can totally make this look like a C130
Are u using one of those multi-rotor quadcopter boards?
As it's a cargo plane, I suggest Dalhan. It's from a Philippine dialect that means "bringer".
OK Ed, obviously you have many videos, and I have not seen them all (yet). How I missed this one, I don't know... but I like it. A great looking plane (your unique build style/material looks great!) Do you think 2X 2830 -1000 kv in a twin 1.8 m wing span will go good ?
Love it!
? how much can this one carry? i'd love to see a cargo dropper version
it looks like a canadair you should paint it like that
Forget my earlyer suggestion ,use Mr Kline's Armin AeroMaster
wantHello Edde, I want to build a 4 motor plane like this but I see the batteries your running and you only get 12 min flight time. U should put a cargo bay door in the back for funzies. And and name it the armin legacy

My name suggestion is " The Big Red One".
Armin legacy
Awesome
cool!
Video on the build?
looks just like the super moose! by bearospace industries.
Gostei ficou forte , quero um tbm kkk
It looks like the Islander to me albeit with 4 props, good job, Just seems a waste of 4 engines to me, and all that power, but who am I to say. but saying that it fly's very nice. 10/10.
quadro plane? :)
I think you should call your plane. The ole red. Or the jolly red giant. But that's my option
How about the "Quadratic"?
but... will it blend?
Hercules, like the C-130!
Please how did you make the air plane
it looks like a cargo or mail plane
the quadstar :D
What is the kv rating of this brushless motor
He said it in the video: 1000KV
Cool! Spiffy sound track! Is anybody building a Lippisch Aerodyne type drone? Seems like it would be a good design for a "Safe Drone" with the props enclosed like they are. Thanks for the post!
u got the plan?
think you should call it the skyvan
Clifford!
the two-twin
Hey, show me how to shape the nose like that! I want to re-shape the front of my cargo twin, this looks much better than mine... lol Nice plane!
