- Michel Roux takes us inside for a tour of Le Gavroche, celebrating 57 years of the iconic Mayfair restaurant.
The auction will feature the exceptional wine collection from the esteemed two-Michelin starred French restaurant, together with works of art and selected storied objects from this fabled London institution.
Globally recognised as one of the finest dining institutions, the legendary Le Gavroche was founded in 1967 by the Roux brothers with Michel Roux joining in 1989 and at the helm until the permanent closure in
2024.
In addition to its own success, the restaurant proudly boasts a prestigious roster of internationally renowned chefs who were trained within its kitchens, including Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White.

Fabulous!
Would love to be locked in that cellar! Glad I had the opportunity to dine at Le Gavroche a few times on very special occasions . Sad that it has closed.
closed ? why
@@cibulis5347 Michel wanted to spend his time on other things in his life. Family, new businesses, etc..
아주 멋찝니다😊😊😊
Why has it closed? I would have thought a resaurant of that high calibre could be sold off easily as a business?
Michel Roux Jr, 63, said he was closing the restaurant
to try to “make time for a better work/life balance, so I can spend more time with my family and on my other business ventures”.
Now it has emerged that one of those business ventures is taking his famous restaurant to the high seas - or the Norwegian fjords to be precise. Starting in June, Roux will open “Le Gavroche residencies at sea” on board Cunard’s luxury Queen Anne and Queen Mary 2 voyages from the UK to Norway.
@@ethonica Ahh that makes sense then, so the physical building is moving, but the business, soul and food is moving to a new location on board a boat. That's good to know!
Nice, so now he not only will be working but sailing somewhere away from town...smart
@@ethonica That's great to know. Le Gavroche is still alive. Thanks for the info!
His kids didn't want to take it over.
❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙌🏻
That will start with “Le Gavroche at The Verandah” onboard Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 for her sailing to Hardangerfjord, near Bergen, on 2 June. And Bray is still open which is a lovely restaurent hotel venue - on the Thames outside London .....
It is totally beyond my comprehension how he could sell the painting of Le Gavroche AFTER THE STORY OF ALBERT AND MICHAEL SR BUYING IT IN PARIS IN 1967 the beginning of the Roux story. But what do I know, very sad
Remember to steal your Employees wages. That will ensure the restaurant lives on!
Nobody respects you, or cares about your existence.
When did this happen it was while in lockdown ?
The restaurant never lost business, half-a-brain.
Yes, the secret to a profitable business is to illegally pay less than minimum wage. What a guy!
@@davidcameron7597 Yep. Definitely a great guy! Retired and closed his successful business, to move onto other successful business ventures.
Why did you close it?????
Horrendously high rent!
It closed because he robbed the staff of their tips and everyone boycotted the place ….
That's why it has stellar reviews and was sold-out, night after night, right? Lolz. Back to your hole.
@@CooManTunes you’ve obviously not been there lately idiot !!!! It’s been half empty .
He’s a complete fraud !!
What a shame, was the best in London.
