This video with Liz and the splits from 1990s? Nice to see someone like Liz brought our generation back. The 60s-70s-80s were the best of the times, the best music.
Saw Liz last night and it was superly awesome, I am also going tonight. She is very friendly and her band is awesome. I wish she would play this live, her voice is perfect for this song! Thanks for the upload
ALL RIGHT!!!...had the VHS back in the day, but lost my videos way back...haven't seen this in ages...this side actually got me listening to Liz Phair...thanks for bringing this one back...5*****
This is one of my favorites from the Saturday Morning Cartoons Greatest Hits Video and CD. You can tell they are having fun doing the song. They definitely put a serious rock edge to a classic theme song from the late 60s and early 70s. I can remember watching the show when I was a kid.
Great tribute to the best time ever to be a kid! The late 60's and early 70's were the best time ever to grow up. When Saturdays were the best day of the week: wake up early, watch the best cartoons ever, then go OUTSIDE and play all day! God I miss being a kid.
I did the exact same schedule ...wake up ...watch. all your fav cartoons ... go out to play rest of day unless it was heavy rain then me & my friends played indoor board games like Monopoly ... Clue ... Risk & others . Innocent fun. times that never can be recaptured but you can remember them as an adult when you hear the familiar music themes ! Saturday morning cartoons do not even exist now & especially now with the current world events are sorely needed & missed ! The band did an awesome rendition of the cool unforgettable Banana Splits theme !
The Banana Splits were so huge. At a friend's birthday party we found that instead of a setup for playing "Pin The Tail On The Donkey", we had "Pin The Nose On Snorky" (the elephant who was the Splits' keyboardist). When we brought our red wagons to school for a parade (in the halls), we all used construction-paper to make two extra wheels for each wagon, one on each side midway between the two real ones, because what could be better than a Banana-Buggy?
I loved this show. Growing up a Seventh-day Adventist kid meant you couldn't watch this on Saturday.Morning. it was my guilty pleasure as I kid. I enjoyed it without the guilt and I still do. Love your version of the theme song.
this song and tribute to simpler times, whether they be of the early 2000's, 90's, 80's, 70's and 60's or whenever before the tv abomination that is what tv of today has become, is just an amazing and absolutely AWWWWWEEESSOOOOMMMME!!!!!!
Hey, ColorsBright, I saw Liz live too. Liz is awesome. I am old enough to also be a fan of the Banana Splits. And to round it out, I'm also a fan of Material Issue.
The Banana Splits were around 27 years old when this came out in 1995. 1995 is now 26 years ago. This album is about as retro now as The Banana Splits were then. I still love it!!
I’m pretty sure people who are fans of the banana splits And friends show/Adventure hour Are watching any video It has something to do with the tra Lala song or the banana splits in any year Or in this case me..
Yes boys and girls, when ya got up on Saturday morning during the technicolor years, you could very well expect your tv to burn your not quite awake eyes through the back of your skull.
Honestly, this song is far better than it has any right to be, both this and the original version. For a show that even those of us who were alive then barely remember. To this day my brother sings it to his grandkids. And I don't think he remembers the show.

Literally the only song of hers i know.
This is power pop at its finest. It's impossible for me to be sad or apathetic when this starts playing.
1968: We begin!
2008: We're a reboot!
2019: Do you want to die?
Fleegle: for your information, we shouldn’t be animatronics in 2019.
Yes I wanna die UwU
2022: we are for family’s again!

Best. Remake. Ever.
The home video version has a lot of talk over parts of the song, especially the guitar solo. This is MUCH better.
Liz and MI FTW!

Wow...Liz Phair in 90s used to be as cool as the Splits were in the 70s. I miss those days, for both of them.
I use to listen to the Saturday Morning Cartoons Greatest Hits cd incessantly back in 96. It was so damn good!
