Not to mention that they had kids that were not recruited to play the two new schemes on offense and defense. You have to give it time for them to get guys in here that actually fit the mold of the offense and defense… they are only going to get better
Best off season analysis of the Badgers I've seen so far, bar none. It's amazing how much more depth of knowledge you can get on individual players and pick ups when you actually talk to people who are coming from inside the Wisconsin program and talking to people who are in the national scene willing to actually listen, like Bud Elliott. Thank you gentlemen! GO B1G!! GO BADGERS!!!
So is the QB decision (indecision?) because Van Dyke isn't quite what we were hoping for or because Locke has progressed beyond where we thought he'd be? The first option isn't good news; the second might be.
From what I've read up to this point, Fickell has said that they would be completely comfortable with Locke starting. He has complete control of the offense and has progressed both mentally and physically. They've also made comments that made me think that Locke just isn't quite where they want him to be ATHLETICALLY yet. Another year of growing and weight room should have him ready to start and thrive.
I worry about their ability to stop the run vs teams with OL/RB talent Other than that, I think Wisconsin is much improved. 9-3 today, just miss the B10 championship and CFB
Fickell doesn’t get enough criticism for the QBs he recruited at Cincinnati. Ridder was a Tuberville recruit. The only QB he had worth anything was Ben Bryant. Fickell’s recruiting at Cincy was also abysmal the last two years.
@@dogrsqr Evan Prater (2020) and Brady Drogesh (2023) were both 4*s who committed to Fickell out of HS. Prater was the 45th ranked player out of HS per 247 in the 2020 class.
They were 7 and 6 last year. What's new? A new QB that looks a lot like last year's QB, they won't have a running game, and the defense will be as porous as last year. Jim Leonhard was the guy for this job.
A big loss was the center Renfro. Messed up the snap and timing. You saw the difference when he was back at LSU. Hopefully he will stay healthy
Wisconsin’s two best offensive players were injured last year. If they stay healthy they will be very formidable this season.
Yeah fickell said the problem was depth

I love these interviews. Thanks, Bud.

Too short of an episode. Needed a question on if the OL will bounce back and the importance of Rendro being healthy

😂😂😂😂 EXACTLY
What 5- or 4-star QB coming out of high school do you think wants to play for Cincy? That had to be a really tough recruit.

Absolutely correct. Jim Leonhard would have done a better job at UW last year.
Sooooo, is Tom gonna tell Jared Verse he’s soft as baby sh*t to his face or nah?

Awesome, Bud. Thanks!!!
Wisconsin is cursed for firing their last coach. They suck
Nah chryst was universally hated he had to go. Recruits hate a hc thats under fire.
Not just for firing the last coach, but for not hiring Leonhard. That hurt.
