Recently changed my first piston and ring on a 2 stroke. My sons kx100 jetted a tad lean wiped the piston on the exhaust ports. That feeling to get it fired the first time. I get it. But you sir are a motorcycle genius! I love your bikes and this bike looks amazing so far!
It’s a two stroke u need to fill barrel with fuel prior to starting, it’s not like a four stroke that’s injected because the computer will automatically send fuel in when u kick but because it’s a two stroke and carbi u need to fill her up with fuel in bore to get any type bang. That’s why u see people leaning them over to get fuel into the motor👍 before I start my two stroke I give it two solid hand fulls of fuel with choke on then roll motor over slowly with leg (2x really light kicks that won’t start motor to lubricate the piston and crank and to get fuel in) then pump some more fuel in one more time, then give her good kick and starts first or second kick every time. Big fan from Australia. Keep up good work!

haha, good eye Sherlock :) but, I took the tank off when checking the wires and plug, so the gas got poured from one side to the other when moving the tank. technically if the bike runs parked you are not even using the gas from the right bottom side since the petcock is on the other side. video is 100% authentic
There is a 410watt starter that helps with the weak cranking . Slavens has them as well as others . I have the same year bike and I was always told the electric was for once the bike warms up . LOL
@@dirtniron please do a video when you replace it . Maybe do the starter with your current battery and then if you change the battery too show the differences . Btw the bike is clean I really like it !! I like how you got the gauges set up with the mask on the front . I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to do mine .
Allways great builds..but never liked the rock music it's to much of prefer watching with no music it's off putting...a small dyno in yr garage would be a great investment with the amount of rebuild ye do...make breaking in way easier and show ye (hp)..

Kick start when cold 🥶 - older KTMs starter not designed for cold starts, but works when warmed up - make sure you have the 2015 plus bendix, too.

Tinkering with bikes looks fun when you have a little space to work/store tools.

These bikes don't have a strong starter motor, I would advise kicking it when cold.

You didnt bleed the air out of the coolant thru the cylinder head.
