In my apinion, asam pedas is best with stingray or the sliced king fish (big mackerel)..the small mackerel not so much…Asam pedas mean sour spicy…the kuih, the green ball with coconut outside is called “onde onde “ also known as “buah Melaka…If you go to any night market again and if you found “putu piring” or “putu bamboo”, try it..it’s rice flour steamed with palm sugar in small dish kind of mold or bamboo, and then eat it with fresh grated coconut serve on banana leaf…if you like onde onde, i think you will like this dessert too…i prefer putu piring or bamboo over onde onde…another sweet snack is apam balik…pancake with peanut, sugar n sweet corn it it…there’s two types, thick and thin..i prefer the thin as it’s crispy.
I actually had apam balik a few times and it’s so delicious and addicting. I really love it! Usually try to have them put little sugar though because I don’t like it so sweet
We had an amazing time in Melaka. Make sure you guys turn on the notification bell so you don’t miss out on where we head to next! 😊

Yea we definitely made a mistake having the mackerel but next time will do stingray or red snapper. Putu piring sounds delicious

The green thing in your cendol is actually THE cendol itself..all shaved ice dessert if it contains cendol is called cendol...
😂😂 Silly me, had it so many times and I still don’t know that
@@CrissyUnfiltered i like your signature eye roll 🙄 whenever the taste of the food hits the right spot...😆😆
You must expect sourness with anything with word Asam
😂 Yes I learned very quickly. It was good but next time I’m definitely choosing a different fish
Asam Pedas = Sour Spicy
You choose the wrong fish for asam pedas, asam pedas is best with either stingray, red snapper, tenggiri(spanish mackerel) or tetel(beef tendon).
We ordered mackerel and I thought that's what she actually gave us. I think next time I would definitely prefer the red snapper though.
@@CrissyUnfiltered Stingray really goes well with Asam Pedas
@@shahrg I have to give it a try then. The only time I tried stingray was years ago in Singapore.
