Chag Sameach Chanukah Rabbi and all of you Friends. Rav pls advise, what became of the Golden necklace and the Pharaoh's ring after both Pharoah and Joseph's deaths?

Great sermon. I just think that whilst worship of self is bad, there is a danger in concluding that ego is bad. Remember is was ego stop Yosef from being seduced. He didn’t submit (release his ego) but remember his father and that his father would feel shame. I’m no expert…

@@TheMalka770Did I suppose that it depends how you define ego? I am taking ego to mean, ‘a sense of self’. I.e. It’s like Yosef said to himself: “I am better than this, [adultery] ?”; “It would shame my father”. So a conscious effortful decision by Yosef? so less so an effortless surrender?

Would the horn of the ox be the blood of the ox?

What I gathered from Maccabees was never ever take the booty and spoils of war, thou shalt not steal. Because gold and silver is always a beacon for the sinner to set up shop. I do wonder if Antiochus set up a statue to sacrifice pigs to because someone stole some of their oxen or horses and they blamed the people who had spoils to steal? If you leave the booty and spoils where they fall in war, the enemy will settle there and leave the temple alone?

I think what I mean to say the lesson I understood is that if you fill Hashem's temple with gold and silver, it will eventually take his holiness out of the minds of the people and they will eventually begin to think that G-d is a bunch of spoils and golden calf?
