Part 2. The WNBA didn't get off to a running start when they started. They slowly got players over the years. The problem with the WNBA has been marketing, not enough investment, coaching, & brand awareness. But through this great ladies stepped forward to play in the league. Because of that it made a difference. Candace Parker, Britney G. etc.. said so what I want to play. Some good teams wouldn't mind you playing for them.

Those were Steffi Graff, Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert. At one point and time the womens tour was bringing in more views than the mens tour straight up. And Steffi was probably THE star of the sport for a period of time. So the actual popularity of the womens game managed to elevate above all other women sports and it carried on through the Serena , Sharapova generation (who themselves brought in more fans). But it didn't have much to do with them being pretty, i mean Navratilova straight up looked like a highschool nerd. It had to do with them actually being so skilled to the point of their matches being kinda must see TV for any Tennis fan. I mean youtube Steffi Graff and Martina Navratilova matches. So what the WNBA needs is a group of talent that will actually make more people want to tune in and watch, and i truly believe that this generation coming up will be the start of that (Paige Bueckers, Hailey Van Lith etc) they are legit entertaining to watch and they are just in highschool. If you do not get on someones roster in your first year, it is really difficult to make a WNBA roster. They tend to go with rookies or vets. There are so few spots and too many vets playing long after they should have retired that it's hard to make a team even if you show well in camp. Well the good part is that it pays better overseas, and if you love to travel it's a better gig for you.
Being in the game u can help change the game. Also if u make it in the WNBA it opens up business for u as well. If u work hard and play against consistent talent that makes u better , u have a chance there. U have some skill. U could become a playmaker.

I’m a WNBA fan Maya Moore was the player I randomly saw on ESPN one day and I really wanted to follow her career (it sucks she has taken time off but I understand her reasons) now Jordan Canada and DeWanna Bonner are my favorites. Not sure if you will see this but I see a lot of players reject the view of lowering the rim and haven’t seen a player ever really agree with it so your view was interesting. Personally I like it the way it is the condensed games on league pass are amazing. Since you know some players I was wondering if you know some who feel the same way about lowering the rim no names but again it seems like they unanimously agree against it? Also the recent pay increase is cool hopefully expansion is coming next.
