Who in their right mind would want to be a cop these days? Everybody hates cops. If you want to serve your community, you should be a firefighter. Those guys are real heroes. No one ever made a song called "Fuck the fire department".
I would join the NE state patrol in a blink of an eye if they paid their troopers more than a garbage man in denver can make…. why does nebraska pay so poorly? A guy can make more $ being a run of the mill city cop than a State Trooper?
@@joepainter7043 I agree with you 100%, you have to do this job because you love what you do and have a passion for helping people, but you can't tell me the pay doesn't deter a lot of really great candidates. Would you feel comfortable providing for your family making 39k a year? hope your kid never gets sick or your car breaks down, or you have hopes of buying a house....

Over glamorized. Their history proceeds them , and their attitudes has been a black eye for the State in my opinion.. Of course there is always a shortage of applicants due to the way the G.I. academy is ran. They hire only road scholars who are social idiots. But hey-they sure make great reports.

i am joing TEXAS DPS 🤠. starting pay is about 70k a year after recruit school
