    I like the 1 row repeat blankets most, these are the ones I mostly go for

      Same for me! It makes it easy to sit back and repeat the rows without having to think about it too much.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jenniferfatzinger7714 you can always use a self striping yarn instead. Sometimes you can’t help but weave in ends. I like to weave them in every so often to avoid doing so all at the end. Makes it a little easier. 😊

    I love this pattern. I have a question, when you are crocheting and the yarn has a knot in it. What do you do, especially with the fussy ends?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  วันที่ผ่านมา

      If I have a knot in my yarn, I would usually cut it out and then continue with my project. If it’s a smaller knot, it’s a little easier to hide within your project.

    Hi. This blanket is lovely. I can’t thank you enough for this tutorial, especially because I can actually see everything you are doing! Being able to see it so closely is such a blessing. I have been crocheting since I was 8, obviously off and on. My grandma taught me. I just turned 67 yesterday, lol. The ole eyesight isn’t what it used to be. I have a couple of questions. First, let me honest, I lost my husband 4 months ago. I’m trying to recapture the desire to knit and crochet. So, question number 1: can single foundation stitches be substituted for reg chains. #2. The 3 chains at the beginning of the new row, can, in your opinion, a standing double crochet be substituted? Honestly, the pattern is stunning. I think I’m just trying to prepare myself for the holidays without him. And this pattern caught my eye m lol. Many thanks!❤

      Hello! Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed this tutorial, especially with the close ups of the stitches. Wow, that's amazing how long you've been crocheting! It's been such a blessing in my life, as I'm sure it has been for you. I am so, so sorry to hear about your husband. My thoughts are with you. To answer your questions, 1-yes you can always make a single crochet foundation instead of making chains. 2-I've never heard of a standing double crochet, so I had to look it up. That looks like a really cool technique! As I've never done that before, I would say give it a try and see how you like it. If it works, continue, and if not, I would go back to chaining 3. I hope that helps! :)

    Do you have an additional video on how to do the border? When doing the shells they make the sides slanted as well but at the beginning of the video your sides are straight. Thank you!

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The sides of this blanket are straight. At the end of the blanket, I show you how to straighten the top so it matches the beginning of the blanket. If your sides aren’t straight, it’s possible you’re skipping a stitch. I suggest using a stitch marker to keep track of your stitches 😊

    • @DoubleDutyMommy
      @DoubleDutyMommy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AmandaCrochets I’m now 6 shell rows (7 with Ch/SC row) in and they’re definitely straightening up. I think at first they weren’t because I was only 2-3 rows in so the side shells weren’t being pulled in. And yes, I always use stitch markers even though this isn’t my first rodeo. I get too in the groove and tend to keep going if they’re not there. Haha.

      @@DoubleDutyMommy I’m glad it’s starting to straighten up for you now! 😊

    I like the blanket and the tutorial however it does not say how to secure the tails or how to hide them and if you are a beginner this is something we need to know.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To hide your ends, you will weave them in between your project back and forth a few times. You can then cut the extra yarn off. Hope that helps! I’ll try and show this in future videos.
