STUNNING Karst Mountain Landscape in southern Yunnan | EP20, S2

  • After Yanjin and the cliff road, I headed for Luoping which is famous for its spring karst landscape!
Every year from mid February to March, you can see endless canola flower fields dotted with karst hills! Btw, the neighbouring Xingyi county has a similar landscape to offer!
Then I headed south to Mile, and visited the local market...

I lived in China for 10 years as a university teacher. I spent a year teaching in Yunnan, in Dali Ancient Town, a historical area on wonderful Erhu lake. But you took me to some parts of Yunnan I never heard of. I especially enjoyed your time in Mile city in this series. A a lot of my neighbors were Mi and Bai people. Overtime I started to understand their heavily accented Mandarin. Thank you for focusing on the little out-of-the-way places which are not famous, but are delightful, not crowded with tourists.🙏

Fantastic job Yan. I have really enjoyed watching all of your videos. I don't know how much time you invest in their production, but your skill and artistic talent really shows. I'm from the United States, and you are showing me parts of China and its people that I, and most Americans, never knew existed. Thank you for showing me around and introducing to so many wonderful people who I would have never known anything about.

Hey Yan, happy to see your work paying off and your channel getting more popular. There is so much anti China propaganda here in Australia and youtube is full of it as well, I feel what you are doing is very important. Also I am a bit jealous, with the language barrier, you are having way more fun in China than I had. Am heading off to the Caucasus and Central Asia soon, sometimes I feel I should just go back to China. Get in touch if you want to come to Australia in the future, all the best, Adam.

What a lovely scene to watch. A beef skin snack reminds me of a session of my childhood days in a country across the border with Yunnan, that is Laos. I spoke Laotian and had friends of minority ethnics. A red beaked swan, guess most of you did not notice one swimming in the lake in the video, draws me back to my university days in....? Where else, the Swan River in Perth, WA. Swan is also the national icon of WA. Who could have known how fate plays into my life. Not that, I was born in Chaozhou, China. And now I am retiring in Singapore. And I spend most time on watching the stock markets. I envy the old folks playing cards and chess along the road sides with people. A great video to watch. Thanks.

Ms Yan, many thanks for the featured of colorful Yunnan Honghe District (七彩云南红河州). Mile (弥勒) is famous for the Huge laughing Buddha Statue. You should also visit Shilin (石林 Stone Forest) most of minority there are Yi Minority (彝族), famous for it Torch Festival (火把节). Mengzi (蒙自) is the administrative center of Honghe, the birthplace of Cross Bridge Noodles (过桥米线) and you can find lots of pomegranate (石榴果). I never been to Jian Shui (建水) but it is famous for small baked beancurd with special sauces (沾水). Gejiu (个旧) used to be a famous old tin capital in China. If you travel further down south, you will reach Hekou (河口) withblots of Miaozu (苗族) can taste lots of Vuetnamese foods, Daily morning Flag raising ceremony, and cross border to Laojie, and Sapa Highlands Resort Vietnam (越南老街和沙霸). Have a splendid trip in China.

I think she just wants to express that I don't like something. Please don't force me to purchase it. So, the problem lies in the sales methods of the vendors. If you force others to purchase, it will be counterproductive. She can use some playful tone to promote, such as: "These wreaths will look beautiful on you" and "You must be very beautiful in the camera. Perhaps the video anchor may buy it. And these vendors are nearby villagers. They have fields and houses. Selling small goods is just their additional income.

Yunnan is certainly one of my favourite provinces with such diversity of ethnic minorities and scenery. Really enjoy your drone footage.

Your videos make me happy. With all the bad news around, you show that after all, we’re all just human trying to connect with each other and that the world isn’t that much of a scary place as everyone in the news is saying. ❤️
