  • The Tikka T3x Arctic rifle is almost an exact copy of the C19 rifle designed by Sako for the Canadian Rangers. One of the world’s most unique military units- the Canadian Rangers are a small volunteer component of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve. Every component of the Tikka T3x Arctic/C19 was meticulously designed to be rugged and reliable in any environment or situation. When it comes to a wilderness survival/scout rifle, there is no other rifle on the market that can meet-much less beat the quality and reliability of the Tikka T3x Arctic rifle.

    I currently serve with the Canadian Rangers and use my C-19 pretty extensively. This year alone it has taken 4 big game animals. The rifle performs flawlessly in the conditions I have used in in. One shot on elk size game at 180 yds…. Lights out and puts the bullets right where you aim.
    I have put a couple hundred rounds down range out to 750 yds with ease. A joy to shoot.
    Pros:
    Accurate
    Well built
    Simple
    Cons:
    It’s a bit heavy to pack around on a long day. Sharp edges around the magazine release sometimes catch on things.

      @@bryanwiedeman3154 no I put a fixed 10 power scope on it. I shoot a 180 gr bullets out of it. The last animal was 250 yards bullet went through and stopped on the inside of the hide opposite side (elk) so it performed perfectly really. Better than I thought it would.

    With this Tikka you certainly get what you pay a lot for considering from a price perspective you are very much in Sako territory - that barrier for many aside I very much enjoy mine in 308 - the battle sights are excellent & the calibration of them is spot on - had no issue hitting my 12" gong at 600 yards with factory ammo. The sights are also fully windage adjustable which is a nice touch - if you wish to mount a scope like I do from time to time, you will need to purchase a cheek rest for a decent cheek weld due to the shape of the stock better suiting open sight use & the need for higher scope rings to clear the rear battle sight - you could remove it but I believe it is not recommended - Bradley Cheek Rests made me a quality color matched cheek rest that suits the Arctic perfectly - the 2 stage trigger is sensational & adjusts all the way down to 1lb if that's your want. Here is Australia plenty of us have enfield 303's - so this new Tikka had me intrigued being a Canadian Rangers Enfield replacement - definitely not a rifle for everyone & is definitely a niche offering - if you are old school & enjoy using battle sights & can justify the price for what I consider a very high qualify rifle with plenty of nice touches - I doubt you would be disappointed.

    I have both a CTR and a 42 Lithgow SMLE. If it came to ever needing to chose between the two in a conflict situation I think I would still run the SMLE for the fact that charger loading is not an option with the tikka. Extra Tikka mags are running at $300 each over here in my part of the world, and they are fiddly buggers to reload. What the old .303 lacked in outright accuracy it made up for in being able to get plenty of rounds down range.

    • @bushcraftrex5394
      @bushcraftrex5394 ปีที่แล้ว

      possible. German gunsmiths Roedale do a special version of that, they cut the thread further on the barrel, so the iron sight sits on the threads and still has thread extended for supressor.
      Also they cerakote it black and do shortened barrels, 42 and 48cm versions of this. I think much improved version of already good rifle

    It's interesting they stuck with a bolt action. I like bolt actions, I'm not complaining but more and more military has gone to an AR platform. But compared to 303 enfield, this is a HUGE step up. I hunt with bolt actions, I think they are great.
