So many comments about the floor getting wet and cold, I thought I'd post the spec sheets. As an APA approved product, Warmboard-S panels can handle exposure to rain, snow, and ice. In fact, the aluminum top surface of Warmboard-S acts as a ‘built in’ weather barrier making it even more impervious to rain and snow than standard Exposure 1 plywood
Good morning you two. For the lack of experience you two have, you pulled it together just fine, nobody got hurt and you have a very nice frame standing. Good job.
Merry Christmas & Congrats to Alyssa & Jesse on Surpassing the 300,000 Subscribers mark, Yoink! What a wonderful early present to the two of you. CeLeBraTion
Excellent project and very good work done. But the most important thing is the happiness that shows in their faces. Congratulations, great greetings from Argentina. Merry Christmas...
Take some plastic and tack it up in the back of garage ceiling and slope it toward the front ceiling of the garage and the water will run out front of garage instead of in it . Just a thought I had.
This has a great introduction. Nice editing for the first couple of minutes, showing the environs, snow, and snow clearing. Nice music editing/choice as well. Yay!
Congratulations on the amazing progress you've made on your home and thank you for sharing your documentary videos of your lives. Wishing you both (and Bugaboo!) a very Merry Christmas and I am excited for you for the year ahead!
I wish more people would consider shopping locally. Those businesses won't be around next year if folks don't patronize those shops THIS year. And in a rural area, having actual people to work with is really a smart choice. And yes, I know that great deals can be had by ordering at megagiantmukticorp. It's a balancing act between SAVINGS and SERVICES.
Warning! This is a positive comment. You guys make great videos and have a great channel. The filming, editing and music are very well done. Jessie is an excellent speaker. Alyssa is very sweet and endearing. This may well prove to be the best homesteading channel. I am totally confused why there are so many hateful trolls. Just baffled.
The freeze cracking and moisture will ruin the looks of the wood, same with strength and dimensions... Thats one odd looking house they're building, everything is beautiful but many major issues...
I don’t think I saw it covered anywhere: how exactly was the timber frame itself attached to the warmboard and foundation? It appeared to just be erected and attached with temporary straps.
Bound to be a letdown after such an intense work period and accomplishment. Especially when you realize how much is left to do and how much didn't get done while you focused on the house-raising. Nevermind. Take a rest, come back with renewed vigor in the new year. Happy Solstice! The days are now getting longer.
I do not know if you Have another video out befor Christmas If not i wish all the best for christmas & the new year Take care & Thank You for your videos Look forward to next Year God Bless you
I like your videos. I am too old to build a timber frame house now but it is intriguing. I also like your unboxing ideas. I am an electrician who has worn many hats in my day. I have worked for the man and been the man in my own business. Retired, I like a little woodworking. Keep the video's coming. They are informative.
Just an idea, a gas-powered leaf blower does wonders for removing lite snow from construction sites, Ie framing, walls, floors, etc. and makes for much less residual to melt and leak down into your basement. Just my 2 cents.
Allysa I freeze every winter...I live in upstate New York...Under Armour cold weather gear...have lots of colors and really work great! Love the videos and thanks for sharing your journey!
I can't wait til you guys are finished with the house. I have watched from the start. I changed devices and had to resubscribe but its been a long process. Please get a roof on it. Its not good for the house. Love you guys and keep going after the new year. Take a break. You deserve one. Take it from a twenty five year custom lake home builder that you guys are right on schedule for a one year build from ground breaking to moving in. I would love to see some contrast in wood colors like black walnut or some burl wood accents. Your goal now should only be drying it in. Trust me, moister is your enemy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.
Those hats are a Puff Stitch type hat. My daughter makes them. Has maybe a hundred or so done and in containers. I wear mine all year long and we live in Florida. Those hats are warm in winter and because they have giant openings between the puff stitch, it lets heat out when it is warm or hot. Very comfortable hats to wear. I was very happy to see you uploaded a new video.
Great! Your back! Life’s pretty miserable without my regular fix of you two, and your fantastic life style. Can’t wait to follow the rest of this epic build, lots still to do, so plenty of footage still to view. Yea! Thought occurs :- why not approach Netflix and see if they will make a series out of the adventure? Love you both so just keep it up. xx
Unless I missed something, and been wondering ever since the Warmboards were installed. Did they really set the posts directly on top of the Warmboards?
Merry Christmas to you two! Home is coming along, be nice to get the roof on... Alyssa! Please tell me about your longish green coat! My wife wants one like that, looked all over and nada. Thanks, so much
Love the toilet paper analogy! Ok you seem a wee bit bored. Snow put a damper on progress. I’m surprised you don’t have a table and chairs set up on the upper floor. That view is fantastic. Cup of morning coffee or a glass of evening wine with some imported cheese/ olives and fresh loaf of bread. Relax take a break enjoy the view. Great job! I’m impressed.
one tip that an electrician told me was to always point your wiring nuts uphill, for times just like what you are going through, enjoy your channel. Merry Christmas!
Yes, I didn’t cheat. First like and first comment. I feel special. I was watching the video and told my wife, Cindy, that I’m so excited for you. This is just the beginning of act 2 scene 1. A big high five to you both. Now for some ice cream.
i would try to come up with some kind of sealer maybe silicone caulking to seal all the seams in that warmboard...that would make it all waterproof so water doesn't get down in the garage...it's not good for water to be going down through them seams and getting them i-joist wet...just a thought you could make it all waterproof...
I can see the big WHEW in both your faces...........you two were certainly up against it in respect to deadlines, i.e. the workshop & the onslaught of winter. Your prioritizations may have befuddled many but when the plate is overfull some things just have to slide off if they're not a direct obstacle. Heck I'm surprised someone hasn't criticized your not maintaining a Gantt chart although it's obvious you had one working overtime in your minds those last few weeks...... A truly great accomplishment and the fortitude to challenge and overcome your inexperience..........aka a cliff hanger in anyone's book. Frankly, there's nothing like the simultaneous feelings of fear and grit when you push the envelope of your abilities. Kudos to ya!!!

Excellent project and very good work done. But the most important thing is the happiness that shows in their faces. Congratulations, great greetings from Argentina. Merry Christmas...
Please explain how the new timber frame is attached to the floor. Thanks
Yes, can you show how it is attached to the floor? Please.
How is the timber frame connected to the floor ?
R. T. Magic
Could you discuss in a video how the timber frame attached to the house,ie brackets etc?
I'm curious about that too!
Lindee Baker YES we also wondered how that critical part is done !!
Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense.
Take some plastic and tack it up in the back of garage ceiling and slope it toward the front ceiling of the garage and the water will run out front of garage instead of in it . Just a thought I had.
Jesse try not to feel overwhelmed. One task at a time. You guys have done fantastic and are still on track. Have a beautiful day and merry Christmas.
How are the main beams fastened down the floor?
This has a great introduction. Nice editing for the first couple of minutes, showing the environs, snow, and snow clearing. Nice music editing/choice as well. Yay!

Beautiful setting,"Snow is like a smile, for it hides the scars of time".

Maybe the trolls are just jealous?
Just think this time next year you can sit and look out your windows and see the snow from a nice warm house.
Are the posts just sitting directly on the warm boards? How are they secured?
The freeze cracking and moisture will ruin the looks of the wood, same with strength and dimensions... Thats one odd looking house they're building, everything is beautiful but many major issues...
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Stay safe and stay warm.
Looking forward to the progress on your home!
You guys are getting pretty good at telling your Pure Living for Life story.
Just curious, and have been wondering for several videos. How are the timber frame beams secured to the top of your walls?
Usually it's steel straps and bolts. They said in a previous video that they will make a video on how the frame is secured to the foundation.
I was wondering if they use metal straps on the posts to strap it to the lower structure?
I see you made 300K subscribers. Congratulations!
I don’t think I saw it covered anywhere: how exactly was the timber frame itself attached to the warmboard and foundation? It appeared to just be erected and attached with temporary straps.
Congratz on 300k subs! I really enjoy these videos. Mostly because I love construction.
Was wondering about you two! Figured you were taking a well deserved break from videos! Your timber frame is so beautiful! Work of art!
Bound to be a letdown after such an intense work period and accomplishment. Especially when you realize how much is left to do and how much didn't get done while you focused on the house-raising. Congrats, Job Well Done! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. can't wait to see the roof done, stay safe.

Phil Miller I'm just like you Phil, except I was a plumber. I really enjoy watching the build. Enjoy your retirement.
Hey, congrats on 300K subscribers! You've more than earned every one :-)
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you guys! Hope you're well.
thanks for the update you too have a merry Christmas and happy New Year
Build some temp stairs. They will save a lot of problems and make getting up and down with materials much easier. It only takes some 2x6 or 2x8.
Enjoy the Idaho snow and have a wonderful Christmas.
Merry Christmas Jessie and Alyssa. Congratulations on your progress to date.
So proud of you folks!!
Merry Christmas!
work never stops does it? but the frame looks better every time I see it. So beautiful.
Happy Holidays!! You kids are awesome ! . Merry Christmas and Happy new year from the Outer Banks, North Carolina.

"We don't drink water, we drink coffee" man can i relate to that comment, lol.
Merry Christmas!
The frame looks beautiful!
Why don't you guys build a scrap construction staircase. Just seems like it would be safer and free up a ladder.
Carve faces on your scarf men and plant them on the hillside looking out like the giants on Easter Island.
Bob Springer just what l thought also. Dremel out the pen drawings - (the drawings were done by the individuals themselves )
I can see the big WHEW in both your faces...........you two were certainly up against it in respect to deadlines, i.e. the workshop & the onslaught of winter. You know, they make this cool thing called "tarps" to cover your important stuff.
House looks great. Take us with to get windows and your foam walls ordered.
Merry Christmas. I hope your going to have some lazy days over the festive period think you deserve some time off
Put your scarfmen along your driveway with solar lights on them so you have driveway lights.
What are they going to do to insulate the roof?
Unicus Videos insolation
Unicus Videos : SIP stands for Structural Insulated Panel. Insulation bonded between inner and outer sheathing.
merry Christmas you two
enjoy
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Merry Christmas!! I so enjoy following your journey
Merry Christmas
when they set the frame on top of garage is it fastened or just the weight didn't show
Boy is good to see you all back, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.
Are you guys not concerned with water saturating the floor panels?
They're not going to answer any comments. Both stated a while back that they don't even look at comments on TH-cam. I think this site is just to generate revenue.
How is the timber frame anchored to the basement walls. Must have missed that.
Been waiting thankyou
How are the timbers fastened to the floor? I didn't see that detail in the raising video.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones..(four legged ones also).
