I don't think they'd get a real saesang for a prank and she was playing a role. So please think of the backgrounds of a situation especially if you only witnessed it through the media bc you never know what went down when the behind the scenes. Goes for every media

honestly, that kidnapping one is the worst, imagine how traumatised he must be?? he was in a car for TWO HOURS thinking he was being held hostage, and then was forced to kiss his 'kidnapper' and then was told he was going to be shot. none of his members or staff was there, he was by himself thinking he was going to die. so fucked up

I agree with the sasaeng and the kidnapping one, but there was one that I dont think many know about that happened way long ago. I cant remember the guy's name, but the prank was they were filming something (I think it was a commercial) and his group member 'fell and died' i think bc of something he either directly or indirectly did.

That Saesang prank was NOT OK. He looked terrified, he thought he was going to die. WTF is wrong with them, I'm actually really annoyed at that.

American hustle life was kinda uncomfortable for me to watch. Like they were some good mentors and some good memories but some people were so rude. Like one guy even hit Jin because they were having trouble communicating and listening to the mentor. Ugh

The Jackson one still breaks my heart. He loves his family so much and he holds the so dearly, especially his mother. That fact that he felt comfortable enough with his roommates to tell them about such a personal thing like the bond he has with his mother, and their immediate thought was to take advantage of it and turn it into a “prank” is just down right wrong and hella disrespectful. I liked that in the actual episode where he got to see his mom, and they saw his actual reaction, that it showed the reaction of the roommates and you could genuinely tell that they were thinking something like “we fucked up” for playing the prank on Jackson. He’s even threatened a hater over them insulting his mother. They posing as a fan and waiting for him outside the JYP building with the rest of his fans and told him something along the lines of “I hope your mom/parents die” as he walked by. He told them, in English, “say that to my face again.” And had to be held back by his security. Don’t fuck around with Jackson about his family.
Actually, the venue of the one about haters is incorrect. It was not at JYP building. It was in China, the airport. Kris Wu's C-fans were pissed that Jackson's single was doing better than their idol's single and hence were that obsessed to wait for him at the airport just to say she wished he and his parents died in a car accident.

I hate pranks in general... it’s just not funny to make someone feel awful in the moment, or to trick someone by getting their hopes up.

These aren’t pranks. Pranks are supposed to be something harmless and just an inconvenience that doesn’t cause any pain. Like painting a bar of soap with nail polish, or filling a room with balloons or something. These are just.. cruel.. I don’t even know what to call this.
Pranks are supposed to be harmless, but often times, people take them too far. A good prank is like rick rolling, because it's a fun prank and no one gets hurt from it. A bad prank is kidnapping someone and then sexually assaulting them (by touching them and forcing them to kiss you) and then calling it a "prank."
Same, or just jokes that can hurt someone in anyway in general...to me a prank/joke is suppose to be funny and harmless for both and I just feel really bad for the people getting pranked and don’t find it funny at all.

That Jackson prank was horrible but the worst one was not long after on the show 'Hitmaker' when they had him pack his bags in the early hours of the morning as the show had decided they wanted to film in Jackson's hometown. They drove him all the way to the airport before revealing that it was a prank and the other celebrities went off to take the Hong Kong flight.

I really liked Hitmaker coz the chemistry of the members of Big Byung were great, but Doni and Coni were just so insufferable at times. They really had to get Jackson's hopes up like that. Though my memory of the show isn't so great anymore, so I'm not sure if it was a prank from the start or something happened and Jackson couldn't come with them and they didn't tell him in the end..

The Jackson one made me cry, that’s not something to joke about. Idols have to go through so much and not being able to see their parents is already sad enough
the BTS kidnapping prank was just terrible on a bunch of levels... reinforces stereotypes about black people, is traumatizing, and those men were _humiliating_ them. jungkook was on the verge of crying when they made fun of him, that was very cruel and malicious for a prank. and after the men left, you could see taehyung totally collapsing in on himself, like he was fighting the urge to pass out or something, needing a very long time to gather himself and calm down like he just narrowly escaped a panic attack. it really took a toll on them.
Jungkook face was too much. He was just 15 or 16 at that time. And also taehyung was also terrified.
What did they say to kook that was making fun of him? Ive never actually watched it and i dont think i ever will.
@@kelley-anneking3882 they only made fun of his iron man socks 🥺 they made them take off their shoes, and were also yelling in a different language to "look at the TV" but obviously, everyone except Namjoon didn't understand, so one of the guys 'flinched' one of the members (like pretended to almost hit him) and even after the TV explained it was a prank, the boys were still scared and confused. They didn't realize it was a prank until they woke up the next morning and saw their producers and managers and cameramen. Also, the black guys were paid to act like that. In the show, BTS get to know some of them better and even built good relationships. (Except for that one guy who hit jin with an ostrich, but he was fired immediately. Their relationships include Jimin & Tony, Nate & Yoongi/Taehyung, their music vids with the girls, and even Namjoon made a song with Warren G, who was featured as a mentor on the show.) Lots of armys talk shit about AHL but the boys learned so much and it honestly helped them be who they are today. (edit: some of yall can stfu becuz i never said it was "okay" for them to be pranked like that. AHL was a learning experience as well & the producers even apologized for pranking BTS like that. As i said earlier in this comment, BTS built great relationships with the people on the show. Some hardheaded ass armys just dont like the fact that BTS were so close to black people & those pretty black girls to the point where they wanna hate on the show without fcking watching it first. Say what you want, but that show impacted BTS positively & the boys had fun regardlessof that stupid prank.)

YES! PLEASE LOUDER! I stan BTS and have been on army twt and social media for so long, there have been so many posts with this shows' moments and what not, but NO ONE talks about how in actuality it was just a fucked up show. I couldn't sit through it for even one episode! And the fact that the boys had to continue doing this after being "pranked" like that!? Yeah. No. And the way it just perpetrated the harmful stereotypes of black men. Then they used black women and made the boys flirt with them!? Some of the boys were minors too and to force them to flirt with black girls especially also sends a very wrong message across! All of it just screams disgusting to me.

they also had some very gruesome ghost prank when they were locked in the studio and there would be weird noises and shit and the girls were throwing tantrums.... (you can look up lovelyz ghost prank but i don't recommend it)

this one wasn’t a prank but it was still messed up so i’m going to share it. in 2019 nct’s china unit (wayv) did a reality show that lead up to their first stage debut. they had to completely three tasks to get one piece of a microphone and then they would put it together in the end. in it they where also given a member to “protect and look after”. one part of the task to find a password to unlock a box with one piece in it. the room was filled head to toe with frogs. pictures of them, items that were frog themed, and REAL FROGS. one of the members, hendery, is absolutely terrified of them; to the point where he gets scared just by talking about them. he couldn’t even move away from the door and CLIMBED UP THE WALL TO GET AWAY. staff didn’t let him out until two other members of the group came to completely the task for him and he was shaking the entire time.
i remember that, i felt so bad and angry at the staff that i had to skip the whole scene, lucas also looked really scared :((
Just like Hendery I am terrified of frogs, and man that was not cool. Imagining myself in that situation I would have a hard time forgiving the people who started it. Pranking people with ghosts is one thing, but Hendery is literally deathly afraid of frogs, like it's not a momentary scare they filled a whole room with it. Absolute madlads. I always hated pranks but the kidnapping ones are really... If you ask me it's pure criminal acts. I never saw Simon's prank but I did watch (at least I tried to watch) BTS' AHL but I was so furious at the kidnapping part that I couldn't enjoy even a second of the rest of the show (and Coolio bullying Taehyung didn't help) so I never finished it. Simon's kidnapping was even worse, I'm sure he was scared for his life, literally. I'm glad you decided to talk about this topic, it seems like too many people enjoy these without thinking about the idols' feelings.
