Excellent 👍 Often cycle out to our club hut - Strawberry Cottage - on the main track but never thought of riding the loop. Have walked the north side several times to access Munros and it’s damp and muddy in places. The river crossing can be tricky even without a bike. Worth noting that another river crossing is now required as the bridge you crossed is closed - unsafe to cross. Enjoying working through your videos 👍👍
Nice video. I love the way you can get different angles and perspectives with the 360 camera. I tend to use a GoPro and the 360 camera when I video my rides as i think the GoPro has better quality footage but is limited to just one direction. It’s nice to record a ride every now and then.
Thanks Bikenbeers, glad you enjoyed the video. Yep, the 360 camera does struggle in lower light conditions but does give an extra dynamic to the video. I’ve recently added a drone to my arsenal, but the weather on this trip didn’t allow for me to get it airborne. Watch out for more videos. 👍
Nice one, enjoyed that! Love the colours this time of the year. Special kudos for filming the river crossing 🙌🏻It’s an area I’ve not ridden before so looking forward to trying, maybe Spring time 🚴♀️
Thanks Charlie, glad you enjoyed! Ha ha, the river crossing was not one of my finest moments. The camera was fixed to the bike - if it had been hand held, it would’ve been off downstream! Yes, defo worth a visit if you’re up in the area and would also highly recommend nearby Plodda Falls.
I've done it couple of times in the dry too Nick and almost binned this ride as the forecast was so bad. However, the weather provided some adventure, especially the river crossing!
Great loop & a favourite part of the country for me. Only explored it on foot & by canoe so far though! That 360 camera is almost as good as having a drone for the perspective it gives you.
Thanks Hugh. I recently acquired a ‘proper’ drone and was looking forward to using it on this Affric loop, but the wet weather meant it stayed in the bag for the trip! The 360 camera does a reasonable job of mimicking a drone though. Cheers
@@TwistyTrails I've just discovered your channel this evening but I think it might become a favourite. Minimal talking, lots of scenery, 360 camera, good choice of music. I particularly like the length of your films. 5 minutes tells the story well enough whereas making a 15 minute film starts to lose my interest. Best of luck to you!
Thanks @@HughDWallace - very kind words. Not sure what motivates me to do these vids: I just enjoy the creating process and I’m glad it’s providing some ‘entertainment’.
It's definately rougher on the north side, but it's manageable on a gravel bike (though easier on a hardtail). I recall it was the rain that curtailed the filming on the north side and I also opted not to put the drone up.
A good reminder of the ride that I did, albeit clockwise a few weeks ago, thank you
This is what seasonal gravel riding is all about! Always great to see riders just getting out there in the wet and grime, excellent stuff 🙂
Thanks - I nearly scrapped the day before leaving home! Glad I pressed on though.

Thanks Graham. Yes the bridge did look in a state of disrepair when I crossed it, so not surprised it’s now closed. Glad you’re enjoying the vids. 👍

"Rough Stuff Fellowship" type terrain... What's the record for flats.. Two spares and a puncture strip repair outfit if it goes really pear shaped !
A great loop. It was much drier when I did it many years ago. 😊😊

I was wondering how you would get on on the north side of the loch but you never showed much of that side at all? Was it too rough to cycle?

@@TwistyTrails ah I see thanks for the info, I might tackle it one day 👍
