I played this game on pc when it first came out then again last year. I feel that the game aged rather well if we don't consider graphics (which I don't think we should when we are discussing last gen games). I agree that the firefights are weaker than the stealth. I do not agree that firefights are weak however. For starters, the relationship you build with your guns through the gunsmith system is carried extremely well into the firefights. Guns feel vastly different in your hands and it impacts your performance. This is especially true if you are going for high ghost scores where you want to finish firefights as quick as possible. You start thinking about whether you want that LMG to punch through light cover, or how high you can ramp up the rpm on your assault rifle without losing accuracy. None of this matters in stealth since every shot is kill shot. Yes the cover shooter feels like division with less gadgets but in a way that enhances the tactical feel to it. You can't just order a drone to auto target an enemy and basically delete him. You can mark targets with scanners or drones or magnetic view to gain situation awareness but you have to make the move yourself. This is further enhanced by how squishy you are. You can't afford to approach fights like shooting galleries in COD, because you'd just die. During the later portions of the games I've developed a love for smoke grenade + VSS sniper rifle with exacto rounds. Just a great feeling to block out half of the field with smoke while you clean out the other half with headshots every 2 seconds.
The controls are a bit rough, but if anyone picked this up I'd definitely recommend Raven Strike DLC, they take away the gadgets from the campaign like optic camo and drones and rely on you being sneaky and manually checking out an area. It's much more challenging, but also suffers from a short (but enjoyable) continuation of the story.
Just bought and played the game on series x. Although it has flaws because it's an old game, it's crazy good. It really shows how backwards games have become ever since

I think Ghost Recon Future Soldier is a prime candidate for a total remake (not a remaster). Keep the orignal story, improve some game mechanics, but remake it all, cut scenes, voice-overs, animations, textures, and everything. Redesign the maps to impress. Just imagine how cinematic this title would look with 2022's game tech to power it now.
Man, I played this game SO much back on 360. I loved GRAW and GRAW 2, but this shit was awesome online. The multiplayer was great, required good teamwork, and had a truly ahead of it's time gun customization system. I haven't touched GR since this one, because it's just not the same anymore. Much love dude, I miss this style of Ghost Recon.
It's funny to me that some big issues on more popular games are willfully ignored or made to look as minors by many reviewers but when it comes to Ubisoft, any flaws or little annoying things are made to look much bigger. Ubisoft is the "Nickel Back" of the gaming world :)
I got it on sale on pc and the only technical issues I had were frame drops when the areas loaded in. I also love the gameplay, both stealth and shootouts.
The multiplayer was so fun, and this is coming from a person who dislikes 3rd person shooters in multiplayer. Just something about it felt so smooth and not high octane as something like CoD because unless you’re the class (forgot name) that can take more damage you’ll just get clapped if you run and gun. A remaster so me and the boys can play co-op and multiplayer would be sick.
Something I want to add is if you pick this up on PC you NEED the Raven Strike DLC. It adds three additional single player missions which help if you think the game was too short.
@@TrueBlade-1889 The other two add more weapons and multiplayer maps. While the weapons are worth it since they show up in single player, the maps are not unless you find people to play with.
The problem I had with it was it just didn’t feel like a Ghost Recon game. Especially when as you say you are forced into times when it just becomes a cover shooter. Ghost Recon was never supposed to be about that. For me, Breakpoint has had enough improvements since release for it to now be my favourite. Plenty of stealth and tactics, approaching missions how you want, and commanding a unit. I’ll still have fond memories of the very first GR though.

Mitchell is the not the squad leader, Ghost Lead is the leader of this squad, that's why his cal sign is Ghost Lead, he answers directly to Mitchell, Ghosts are 4 man units who answer to Mitchell. Nomad is Ghost Lead for the Wildlands team. Just like Walker was Ghost Lead for his team. It's all chain of command, though I believe Walker had a 3 man team, been a while since I went through his oracle mission. Which was dope af and a great lead in to the cluster of Break Point at launch. I play Wildlands religiously, I'm actually playing now, with my own operational stories. Mitchell is call sign Atlas, my new call sign is Skirmish, my team is call sign Crucible. Hard to track things that are like water, gotta stay fluid.
man this looks really nice on pc still, it's hard to believe an indie studio hasn't really done a ghost recon clone that I can think of. There's an open market there
Let‘s hope Ubisoft can make a new future soldier after the breakpoint . I think they can try the sandbox like hitman have each a different open world map with different scenario.
Just loaded this up from my old Xbox games onto the one. Really enjoying playing it again. I watched through the old film shorts they made in the build up too...really enjoyed those. Thank you for the video mate👍
I love Kozak’s inclusion in Wildlands. I’d like to think that if it wasn’t for Nomad, he would’ve quit the military after the incident with the bomb, but Nomad talking to him helped keep him on the right path.

I remember in 2012, playing this game. In wildlands we can see Kozak in the mission called “future soldier”. I honestly think eventually we will get more story to kozak as breakpoint is in the past.
I had it on ps3. It was great. No issues. You should have reviewed the MP. however there is a crowd that still plays it on the one mode (conflict). It may not have many players on PC It was available last time I checked. The MP was great. Try out a lot of thought into game mechanics and accessibility- not giving any skilled gamers the upper hand. so it was competitive. Unfortunately most people really only played Conflict outside of the first couple years. The Guerrilla was good, although very difficult by yourself. The guerrilla in Wild-lands I prefer I bit, And i spent a lot of time and got all the challenges in missions. Great review. Nice to get an honest opinion. Would be interested in your opinion on the MP.
I think it is better than wildland & breakpoint. It is not necessary to do open-world for FPS, and I wonder why I need to find collectives & destroy all hideouts on the map? Also I like the team`s tactical action (such as opening the door), those are all lost in the recent Ghost recon games.
Nice review, mate, I remember playing this game back in the day and I loved it, really enjoyed it. You might want to take a look at Spec-ops the line, what a game, the story is uff, gameplay maybe not much but fun nonetheless.
Man the multi-player was so much fun on this game. I feel like so many games during this time were so good and slept on. Like I doubt many people you'd ask would know this game, but me and a couple buddies of mine put some serious hours online.
And the campaign/Co op was amazing too. Definitely would love a remaster.. Like you said the stealth in this game is really amazing. It didn't try too hard, but it made you feel like a total ninja badass. Picking people off while invisible lol.

i'd suggest you play the 2 advanced warfighter games if they are backwards compatible on xbox because not only are they different from the recent 2 but also even this, it looks like this game (i never played future soldier) is more of a stealth shooter while the series before is a tacticle shooter, there might be some stealth but ultimately what the older games are more about is how you command your squad, what are their roles, where you tell them to go, do you tell them to suppress? blow shit up? snipe? movement is slow, not sluggish but slow like your walking around with a lot of weight, like you move the analog stick all the way forward and it takes a little bit before you go into a jog.
I strongly disagree this was the best ghost recon ever would definitely buy this if it was remastered for ps5 wildlands an brakepoint just didn't feel the same felt so off an sloppy on movement I want to feel like I'm actually playing the character an in control

There's an open market there
Just scored the Ultimate edition for $7.49 !
Watching this game is bringing back so much oh my
When I saw it on Ubisoft, it was 4 dollars. I bought it only for the Uplay coins, so I could get a coupon. Looks a lot better than I thought
One of the last games I can remember playing couch coop with my friends........ I miss those days
Just hoped on multiplayer happy to still find lobbies
Man this game was so good, wish they continued the series
3:35 the mission: Galladiant theft is the hardest one and is a struggle even on recriut
My favorite game of all time. Glad to see someone else playing it these days
Let‘s hope Ubisoft can make a new future soldier after the breakpoint . I think they can try the sandbox like hitman have each a different open world map with different scenario.
Agreed that would be awesome
I’m new to GR and I took the risk to buy it and I’m on the 5th mission I love this game it’s so dope highly recommend if your new
Coop Guerrilla was amazing in this game (In console obviously hahah)
I’m sure it was😭
I love this game. It’s excellent and has its short comings but I would love another part or remastered with extra level
Is this game still playable online till today
This game, especially during it's time, was the sickest game I've ever played multiplayer was beyond what I was expecting
Just loaded this up from my old Xbox games onto the one. Really enjoying playing it again. I watched through the old film shorts they made in the build up too...really enjoyed those. Thank you for the video mate👍
That’s awesome man, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!
The PVP was just too good. Wish you would have touched a little on this aspect of the game. Great vid and thanks for sharing.
I love Kozak’s inclusion in Wildlands. I’d like to think that if it wasn’t for Nomad, he would’ve quit the military after the incident with the bomb, but Nomad talking to him helped keep him on the right path.
I had this for ps3 at the time I loved it. It was different from other ghost recons but I still loved it
Nice man, glad you loved the game!
I remember being sooooo hyped for this game after wathcing the trailers. But then somehow I just remembered this game lol. I wanna play but now Im too old and too busy lol.
damn... I really want to play this game, but the first time a had a try can't understand a thing back then on my younger days. I'll definitely try this again.
They should make Sequel of this game.
I remember in 2012, playing this game. In wildlands we can see Kozak in the mission called “future soldier”. I honestly think eventually we will get more story to kozak as breakpoint is in the past.
Thru backwards compatibility on my Xbox one x
I had it on ps3. It was great. No issues.
You should have reviewed the MP. however there is a crowd that still plays it on the one mode (conflict). It may not have many players on PC
It was available last time I checked.
The MP was great. Try out a lot of thought into game mechanics and accessibility- not giving any skilled gamers the upper hand. so it was competitive. Unfortunately most people really only played Conflict outside of the first couple years.
The Guerrilla was good, although very difficult by yourself.
The guerrilla in Wild-lands I prefer I bit,
And i spent a lot of time and got all the challenges in missions.
Great review. Nice to get an honest opinion.
Would be interested in your opinion on the MP.
I’d say it’s worth it for gorilla mode as well if you have a friend to play it slpitscreen with.
I think it is better than wildland & breakpoint. It is not necessary to do open-world for FPS, and I wonder why I need to find collectives & destroy all hideouts on the map? Also I like the team`s tactical action (such as opening the door), those are all lost in the recent Ghost recon games.
Fair enough
Nice review, mate, I remember playing this game back in the day and I loved it, really enjoyed it. You might want to take a look at Spec-ops the line, what a game, the story is uff, gameplay maybe not much but fun nonetheless.
Thank you and I will definitely look into it! Thank you for the suggestion!
I hope they get a good review of these videos so they can see our thoughts as gamers
Dude really just went and changed the title to 2021, it's fine I guess, nice video.
As much as I love this GR GR 2 and Summit Strike are the most underrated GRs but the first ones were badass too
Awesome to hear man, I really want to try the more early games I keep hearing great things about them
@@masterassassin791 ya the first are way slow with permanent death of you squad mate who level up so your forced to think more and GR2/Summit Strike are a medium pace with simple squad commands but if you want the best GR couch coop go with Summit Strike theirs alot of cool modes
If only we could ever get a proper Ghost Recon sequel. 20 years later and still waiting.
Great Video.
I was searching this game on in the ps store and didnt see it. I wanted to play this game again because overall i absolutley loved it. They should remaster it and release for the new gen consoles
Pog champs buds almost at 2k
Yessir
i'd suggest you play the 2 advanced warfighter games if they are backwards compatible on xbox because not only are they different from the recent 2 but also even this, it looks like this game (i never played future soldier) is more of a stealth shooter while the series before is a tacticle shooter, there might be some stealth but ultimately what the older games are more about is how you command your squad, what are their roles, where you tell them to go, do you tell them to suppress? blow shit up? snipe? movement is slow, not sluggish but slow like your walking around with a lot of weight, like you move the analog stick all the way forward and it takes a little bit before you go into a jog.
As a member of the gaming counsel I demand for future soldier 2🙏😂
I strongly disagree this was the best ghost recon ever would definitely buy this if it was remastered for ps5 wildlands an brakepoint just didn't feel the same felt so off an sloppy on movement I want to feel like I'm actually playing the character an in control
Just feel the same way. Bought it for a few bucks because I never finished it back then.
One big downer for me is the odd aspect ratio on wide screens. There seems to be no option to fix this - at least as far as I have seen...
I wanted stop liking it, then wish to continue after G.R.A.W 1,2
