Well... you can actually build with Vault pieces outside of Vault 88. You just have to complete the DLC. I don't know where you got that "It doesn't work outside of Vault 88" stuff from. For example, i decded to do a bit of settlement rp and build an enclave bunker under the Mechanist's lair and an Institute holdout on Spectacle island with these pieces
From the playing the game seeing that the only pieces that work are room pieces and not the ability to make a vault of your own that go underground at any location. They don't have that. Maybe at some point you can build under a settlement or to but you can not build you're own vaults. At best low grade above ground shelters.
I never liked how Bethesda bet the farm on the settlement mechanics/focus in Fallout 4 and think it ultimately destroyed any replay value the game had. My opinion of the DLCs was directly tied into how little I had to interact with settlements and how much I could explore/roleplay. I liked Nukaworld up until they told you to go do settlement stuff back in Boston, which by the end of my playthrough I was completely fatigued and disgusted towards. Never finished it because of that; just went back to the Commonwealth, gave Danse a cowboy hat, and brought him to Nukaworld to go on a merry little raider purge. Far Harbor was fun and the atmosphere was on point, but felt like a dumber mix of Point Lookout and watered-down Blade Runner for a plot. The rest of the DLCs are not memorable to me in the slightest, except for the Vault-Tec Workshop. I remember starting that DLC after completing all the others, going in, meeting the ghoulified overseer, and then getting told that the quests were purely going to be focused on more settlement BS I wanted no part of. I distinctly remember immediately building a large concrete barricade to block off the entrance thus trapping the overseer minutes after getting freedom, then leaving the vault. I finished up a few sidequests then never playing Fallout 4 again.

The focus on settlement building on Fallout 4 felt like a huge drawback. Sure I am certain a lot of people enjoyed it but the focus on it made it so places were just boring no-where spots where YOU had to fill in the empty spots like a madlip and DLC had to focus on it. It honestly just felt like they were testing it out for Fallout 76 and it honestly would fit a lot better there then it does in F4.
It's a pretty unique game mechanic but I do feel it is over exerting itself in the game, if it was more of a option than a need to even beat the game it would be better recieved I believe.
@@thebigjuicethesip Probably. The fact that you not only had to do it to play the main quest but also had to sink in points in certain perks was a kick in the teeth too.
I know I'm kinda dumb for this in whole, but I only bought Vault Tech so I could scrap the place (didn't even get half of what I built up in five years)
Nah, Nukaworld honestly deserves a 2/5 at most. You're an errand boy for people you've killed by the thousands to go clean out parts of the park. Only 2 have actually interesting things going on (Oswald and the Tarzan rip off). And due to there only being 5 sections; one group inevitably gets pissy after you go play Evil Minute men. Which is STILL you being an errand boy basically as you do all the leg work securing settlements and prettying it up for them. And the side quests are fetch quests (go fetch more star cores to get this custom X1 armour set that really shouldn't exist but Power Armour lore is already shit all over in Fallout 4 so whatever). Someone mentioned how killing all the Raiders is the "good" route, and I agree because it's basically saving you from wasting your damn time on those clowns. Meanwhile Far Harbor is easy 4/5, sure it doesn't go as far into "who's a synth" as it maybe should. But it feels a lot tighter then base game, the characters you interact with are interesting, you get to go on a drug trip, and I at least understood what the factions wanted unlike the main game. Far Harbor is great and easily the best part of Fallout 4.
I can definitely under where you coming from and those are solid points. I just feel nuka worlds actual environment saved it a little. But yeah, it's a pretty fucking boring dlc npc wise besides the ghoul. magician
I second Dagoth. I actually really loved Fallout 4 when it came out, but I completely forgot Wasteland workshop was a DLC. Its just that forgettable. And all the other rating I agree with too, most of the DLC’s were alright, but nothing to write home about.
vault tec is definitely my least favorite as well. the fact that you also need to do so much before you can actually start building the vault it self. then you gotta run the forced experiments. and when you FINALLY get to building the vault, it turns out to be not fun and I never tried it again. wasted a whole damn summer day of my life on that shit.
Nuka world environment is peak fallout. But the radio dj, hands down the best since Three Dog himself. Sad the rest of the game is just so.... Fucking unpleasant to be inside. Like I can wander fallout 3 and new Vegas for weeks, but I swear to God the guns in fallout 4 whilst better to shoot, have the shitties muzzle flare of any game I've ever seen, can't see what the fuck I just shot at, and not only that, I swear to God it feels like every gun is even LESS accurate out of vats than previous games, coupled with ducking and weaving enemies and it becomes a bitch to hit shit, and add to the problem of enemies leveling with you, and no matter how strong you get you can't walk in and waste a raider gang, a RAIDER GAMG, without it being a simple headshot or two each but a fucking slog. The Guns are more functional but have such drawbacks that the other games didn't have, coupled with a complete lack of cool unique weapons and just general legendary effects. Like everything Fallout 4 fixed added two whole new problems to the game. Somehow Fallout 4 gunfighting is great but gets worse, whereas in New Vegas and Fallout 3 make you feel stronger as you play, and I realized, because that's what rpgs should do, but instead of reveling in the power you earned you instead have to face god level raiders wearing only scrap and using hobby lobby piece of shit pipe guns. You feel robbed of the power you earned whilst playing, and if you don't get the weapon perks? Kiss your ass good bye having ANY fun fighting. Fallout 4 had so much potential, but seeing what Fallout 76 became, I don't have high hopes for the next installment that comes out on my deathbed of being a 136 in the 22nd century.
I would give cold harbor a higher score but back in the old days my praytrough screwed up my save games and mass murdered my dreams, so I give it a 0/5. The other DLCs get a not New Vegas score and the base building sht get a FU/5.
Far Harbor is overated, i personally liked Nuka World's (open season's route) route. He really fogots about how Wasteland workshop let you makes cages and fill your settlements with Mirelurks (Which is based and cool)
Got to be real, only Far Harbor was the only one of the DLC that wasn't like a 1/5 for me. Then I found out they ripped off and plagiarized a mod from NV called Autumn Leaves for it's story basically. My god does Fallout 4 fucking suck to me lol.

It would be awesome if you did one for the someguy mod series for fnv.
Sure
but you can build vaults everywhere.
the door is just a bitch to unlock.
It only let me build the rooms but not a actual vault after I finished the quest.
Do Oblivion DLC... horse armor for the win
fallout 4 dlc burned me cause I thought it would be all just story stuff but then we get the shitty building stuff
did you forgor about the robot gf you get in qutomatron???
I did. But I also prefer my dick not get grinded up by a gearbox.
But yeah, it's a pretty fucking boring dlc npc wise besides the ghoul. magician
Didn’t Bethesda copy the idea of automaton from some mod?
I'm not sure
@@thebigjuicethesip I remember when it first came out back in like 2015 that being a controversy but I dunno if it was true or not
I really liked Far Harbour.
Fair, as long as you enjoyed the game that's all that should matter
I second Dagoth. I actually really loved Fallout 4 when it came out, but I completely forgot Wasteland workshop was a DLC. Its just that forgettable. And all the other rating I agree with too, most of the DLC’s were alright, but nothing to write home about.
Thanks jail bait
vault tec is definitely my least favorite as well.
the fact that you also need to do so much before you can actually start building the vault it self.
then you gotta run the forced experiments.
and when you FINALLY get to building the vault, it turns out to be not fun and I never tried it again.
wasted a whole damn summer day of my life on that shit.
Fucking exactly.
Hot take a six far harbor and point Lookout are on the same level of go.
I'm confused by your grammar but I think I get what you're saying
As long as Todd Howard doesn't put himself on another painting, I have high hopes
Please rate Fo4 companions Daddy.
Coming soon
@@thebigjuicethesip Can't wait to see if anyone in the Commonwealth honours the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned.
Something people don’t talk about that much is the mechanist lair is easily the best dungeon in the series. Still a crap tier dlc.
It definitely is solid compared to other locations. I also like they brought back the mechanist 80 fucking fancy doors.
No good good guy ending in nuka world dagoth can u believe that shit
I'm just surprised we couldn't awaken the giant nuka statue to reign havoc. I need more Akulakhans.
@@thebigjuicethesip arm the traders or turn the park defenses on the raider gangs, relate it to the minutemen somehow. Anything dawg
Like the last dlc didn't even make any sense
I would give cold harbor a higher score but back in the old days my praytrough screwed up my save games and mass murdered my dreams, so I give it a 0/5. The other DLCs get a not New Vegas score and the base building sht get a FU/5.
They may have similar scores but I'm more rating them based on the base game and not compared to the other entries ratings, but I understand
@@thebigjuicethesip Yeah I'm just being salty.
Far Harbor is overated, i personally liked Nuka World's (open season's route) route.
He really fogots about how Wasteland workshop let you makes cages and fill your settlements with Mirelurks (Which is based and cool)
Yeah but how often would I be around those mirelurks in cages? Not much I think
@@thebigjuicethesip Play survival.
Far harbor deserved a 4 and nukaworld a 2
I respect your opinion friend
IMO, Fallout 4s story was amazing! I don't care what any of you all say!
I respect your opinion, I disagree but it's don't think it's awful. As long as you enjoy the game, that's what matters.
You're wrong but ok.
@@Bacxaber No, I'm not. You just can't say I'm wrong for the experience I had!
Yeah the Vault Tec dlc was a disappointment
The biggest disappointment since my birth
Got to be real, only Far Harbor was the only one of the DLC that wasn't like a 1/5 for me. Then I found out they ripped off and plagiarized a mod from NV called Autumn Leaves for it's story basically. My god does Fallout 4 fucking suck to me lol.
I didn't know the story was stolen. That's unfortunate...
@@thebigjuicethesip it's apparently the brain dead side mission mostly but a lot of the whole "do synths have feelings/souls" type of things have been accused of them just stealing from Autumn Leaves.
I really didnt like fallout 4
Understandable
Some of the worst dlc and hands down the worst fallout
It's definitely a fucking stinker but I can see some good in it
